Nice forest, well marked trails and two waterfalls

Starts hard, gets easier as you ascend. Water is pretty regularly found so no worries for pets. Good afternoon hike, beautiful views and not very busy on a Saturday

So great! We went after a light rainfall, my children 1, 3, and 7 walked most of this trail with my 1 year old needing some assistance when it got rocky. The waterfall was great for my kids to splash around it, although the rocks near there were steep for kids. The smaller waterfall would be better for small children. We had a wonderful first North Carolina hiking experience here! Round about 3 hour hike give or take.

Monday 8/20/18 Got to the trailhead right at sun up with just a few cars in the parking lot. I think all were people who were staying at the lodge. My wife and I both 30 years of age have only done short 2-3 mile hike back in Ohio but we decided to go all in on this one. AllTrails said 10 miles but my Fitbit tracked 15 miles. We made it to the summit in 4.5 hours including a nice breakfast break at the bluffs. The views along the way to the top were amazing I had never seen anything like it. I was kind of disappointed when we reached the summit because it was just a pile of rocks, no overlooking views but nonetheless it was an incredible hike. Took 3 hours to make it back down.

Great trail, look forward to doing it again.

This is a nice, not too challenging hike. It’s uphill most of the way in, so that part is a little tough. It’s easy on the way out. Waterfall is really pretty with a small wading area at the base. Dog friendly for a well behaved dog.

Viewed the lower falls and then hiked to the upper falls. The trail to upper was pretty muddy but not at all un-passable. We hiked back to the parking lot by going on the graveyard fields trail to add some variety. Lower falls were very crowded but the hike to upper falls had more solitude and when we arrived at the upper falls we were the only ones there.

Was a great and wonderful trail. Must be prepared, the hike is fairly easy to arch rock. Then to the bluffs, it get a little tougher but well worth it. If you plan on going to the top it get very tough we made it in 4 hrs but took well over 400 pics lol, well worth any pain or soreness you may have later.

Easy hike. You need to take the side trails for most of the waterfalls and balds. A lot of day hikers. Many camping sites but only saw one other set of campers that day/night

Amazing views, first half of the hike was rough for us. Cross the river three times in lower section. If there is heavy rain, expect to get wet.

Strenuous 1/2 mile hike (one way), slightly to very crowded depending on day/time, totally worth the views.

Well maintained trail. Pretty views from the bald. Weird to be climbing up on your way out, but doable & lovely.

Beautiful trails and waterfalls!

A good workout hike uptill the top of the cliff. The waterfall is gorgeous and accessible. I went in the fall and the water was icecold but it was fun to be able to reach to it. Had a great time.

They say it's only 0.5 miles up and 0.5 down... The hike up is on a paved path but it is STEEP. Maybe it's because we had just hiked 8 miles for Charlie's Bunion.. The views we're worth it, though. Make sure you bring a light jacket. On top of the observation towers, it's 20 degrees cooler. If there's fog, just wait 5-10 minutes and it'll move! Panoramic photos are a must!

I have previously hiked other trails up LeConte and was happy to see a change of scenery on this trail. The different rock features were interesting and the Bluff was neat. I started out early so I was able to easily find parking and avoided the crowds.

It is just a path up to a viewing point. Not a hiking trail at all. Crowded at the viewing point also, unable to snap a picture without others in the way.

The view was amazing! However, the hike was paved (which in my opinion takes away from nature) and it was highly populated and a steep climb with 3 littles!

Challenging trail but, the views are amazing.

This was an amazing morning hike! we started at 7:30 am in the morning and were done in about 3 hrs. We enjoyed the peace and serenity on the trail, met only two hikers at the very beginning and then maybe 10 more heading up while we were on our way back. Definitely a moderate hike with a great walk in nature. The waterfall is more for views than for taking a dip, but the gurgling creek stayed with us almost all the way till the Albright Grove trail loop started.

beautiful in July. Great water access for the dogs to play in. many bridges crossing back and forth across the creek

A great hike, the stairs through the rock makes the hiking interesting. At the top of alum Cave, the view was ok, but the cave is magnificent. My 5 year old enjoyed it.

Well worth the effort. Only a few other people on the trail and had the falls all to myself.

Peaceful hike to a gorgeous bald with stunning views. The day we went the parking lot was packed but everybody else went the other way, we had the trail to ourselves, literally, all the way down and back up. Loved the hike. Not too strenuous, and took us under 2 hours.

My favorite hike ever!! We started the hike at about 7:15am so there were only a few other people along the trail so early. Inspiration point at about 2 miles is beautiful! Alum cave was pretty neat too. Above there is where the hike really gets interesting to me. Such amazing views and some of the cliffs you are on just make it a great experience. A long hike but worth the effort. We went to the lodge and Cliff Top. I am so glad we did the spur to Cliff Top, the views were stunning!! Felt like we were on top of the world! Took us roughly 6 hours start to finnish. One piece of advice, bring food, we did not and were starving for the last few miles. The Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg was the best $40 I ever spent afterwards.

Don’t get me wrong, the views from the observatory are breathtaking and definitely deserve 5/5. But there were hundreds of people there and felt like an amusement park and not the great outdoors. That’s probably me being an outdoor snob, to be fair, but if you’re a fan of nature and pure hiking I’d do this one later.

Amazing views well worth the trek up the mountain side, the hike will take your whole day. One of my favorite places in the smokies for sure.

Loved this hike! The falls are amazing! We did have to walk through water to get there and the trail has some medium sized rocks in a few spots. I would say moderate is a good rating for this trail. So worth it though!

Absolutely fabulous hike! Not really difficult, but can be a little muddy and slippery at parts. I highly suggest going all the way to the turtleback waterfall. Also, try going on the rocks (dry ones) that are a little bit off-path to get really good shots. We were warned about copperheads, but did not encounter any.
