This hike Information on AllTrails needs to be updated for this trail. This is a fantastic hike but is not easy. This was a treacherous 5+ mile hike that dropped 1200’ which of course you have to return from (back up). You should be prepared for super rocky terrain and steep drop offs. The trail map is not accurate with the actual trail being much longer and not matching the path indicated on AllTrails. (Look at the map recordings of those who hiked it). This really could have gotten us into trouble had we started much later due to the extra time it took. As a father, this is NOT a trail for kids under 13 years old; it’s just too dangerous. That being said, the hike was beautiful and was a great experience; especially getting back up to the rim alive!!! Lol

You should plan accordingly on this one and allow a minimum of 4-5 hours; more if you want to spend time down at the river.

What a stunning view. Loved this!

Beautiful hike! Hike has views of Colorado River, two arches, desert & train tracks. The hike is short and sweet, but does have an area of steep rock with a ladder. If afraid of heights or unable to climb well, may not be trail for you! The top is beautiful though and I highly recommend if physically capable. Bring lots of water! Doggos everywhere and lots of places to sit around arch.

Such a fantastic hike!! Definitely chilly up at the top with wind so pack layers. Hike has ups, downs, climbing, ladders, etc so prepare if elderly or have children. There were a couple times I had trouble following the trail, but it is well marked by others with the rock towers (look for them!) This hike is so beautiful though and unlike anything I’ve seen inside the national parks. Highly recommend!! According to signs at trailhead, it’s 2.2 miles up & back (total of 4.4) versus what’s on this app. Not sure what is correct!

Beautiful trail with fun features including a ladder and a cable assisted mini rock climb. Breathtaking scenery. We went around sunset and it was stunning.

Awesome, more "secret" hike in canyonlands.
It's a steep climb in and out, but the views are awesome! The kiva is currently roped off, but you can get close to it. It's a bummer someone ruined the experience for the rest of us by vandalizing it.

Be sure to read the brochures in the guestbook box about archeological site protection. Respecting the trails and sites are key to being able to enjoy these hikes for years to come!

me and a buddy did this trail and the views are Absolutely beautiful. the kiva itself is still roped off but the views are well worth the hike. we were the only 2 on the trail and at the end it became hard to see the next carine but if you look hard enough you won't have a issue.

Beautiful trail but if you have a fear of heights or climbing may not be the best choice. You can hike in and stop before difficult areas and still view the arch from a distance. My youngest daughter and I went all the way but husband and other daughter sat at viewpoint about halfway and waited for us.

I'm not sure why this is rated difficult. Fairly easy hike that was a little difficult to find. There are a few spots you do some light bouldering.

Easy hike. Excellent views, but a very crowded hike.

One of the best in Moab area...a local favorite. Bring lots of water and make sure you go to the very end .... where you will see a little wooden sign saying “The End” Being able to watch the rock climbers is an added benefit. Enjoy!!

Great place for a photo under the arch... short and easy.... could be crowded.

THE BEST... do not miss this one. Started at the parking lot and went clockwise. Be sure to do all the lookouts. Views are breathtaking!

Love this trail. Beautiful views. Railroad tracks nearby

Simply spectacular!

It’s a great arch, and a pretty dull trail. Worth a stop.

Amazing views over Canyon Lands national park across the full length of this trail. It’s pretty busy, but easy enough to get off and find a secluded spot. A must if visiting Canyon Lands

What a great trail!! Lots of fun. We made it about 3/4 of the way and the kids were tuckered out, so we turned around. Such great views up and down. It was really neat watching the rock climbers at the top of The Cheeto!

great place to see sunrise

Ok so first off, the views were outstanding and totally worth our experience on the trail. Another review gave us the directions to the trail head- parking at the alcove parking lot and walking back up the road to the section of logs. The trails begins directly behind the logs. Follow the path all the way to the sign that enforces no vandalizing the kiva. From there there will be cairns guiding the way. We had a hard time finding some of the cairns but overall they were extremely helpful. The only misleading thing was there were cairns going past the kiva all the way around the other cliff side. We weren’t paying close enough attention, missed the kiva, and kept walking around the cliff side assuming we still had further to go. Once we reached the other end of the cliff the sun was setting and WOW. The views from that side were just amazing. On our way back down the cliff side we found the kiva and realized where we messed up. But by this time there was no daylight left and we somehow got off trail sending us down the cliff side on scrambling rocks and dirt. It was extremely scary. I’m only saying all of this because I don’t want someone else to make the same mistake and end up out there after dark unprepared (as we were).

Very fun hike that gets better and better as you make your way to the arch.

Short hike, good view.

Enjoyable short trail that ends with to lovely arches. Dogs and kid friendly. Enjoy it!

Close to Moab city center. Dog friendly. Had railings on parts where it seems steep. Our dog (and so would other humans) was able to walk around to continue the trail past the ladder. Lots of places to sit out and look at the stars at night. Enough cairns along the trail that even if you did the trail at night with a headlamp/torchlight you wouldn’t get lost.

Great trail. Well marked. Towers are amazing. Bonus getting to watch rock climbers. Beautiful views throughout.

Hiked this with my daughter and we enjoyed it. A little intense if you’re afraid of heights and going over slanted rock terrain. Magnificent arch!

Great trail for kids and dogs.. Great scenic views.

This is my 3rd time on this trail in the last 4 years and it never ceases to impress! There are some steep parts so wear good shoes. Overall one of the best easier hikes I have ever been on and that is saying something for a fat chick.

Surprising that there aren't more reviews for this short hike, as I am sure it is very heavily trafficked. The trailhead is very well marked off of Hwy 95 -- there are signs for the turnoff .2 miles in advance from either direction. The trailhead has lots of parking and a toilet. This is a brief hike without much elevation gain, which brings you to a fenced off viewpoint where you can see the impressive ruins across the canyon. There are some interpretive signs for the flora along the way that were reasonably interesting.

Great views.
