RunningGreat!

I parked near the salt ponds and did a 20 mile run on this road. Wasn't particularly technical which was nice. The views at all the river overlooks are amazing. I started around 8:30 and there weren't any jeeps out around then. Would recommend for a good run!

High clearance definitely needed in a few spots. Fun, easy trail with amazing views.

OHV/Off-road drivingClosedFee

This is a fun drive that is best done in something with a little extra ground clearance but not a difficult drive. The trail was closed as of 2/20/21 where it connects to White Rim trail, so don’t plan on this being a through route.

Trail was amazing. Super fun and nothing too technical. Heads up tho road is closed a the White Rim Trail Junction so we had to turn around. Not ideal since this was our planned route into the park for a day of hiking but we discovered another great OHV trail- Long Canyon Road on our detour.

Great views. Our stock SUV did it without any problems...had to get out and evaluate lines every once in a while. We are well experienced in dirt road driving. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to a sedan or low clearance. The River bend is absolutely stunning.

Absolute best way to get back to Moab, so much fun. The switchbacks are smooth and scenic then you absolutely need high clearance to get over the rest of the road. Cool mini horseshoe bend like spot halfway

OHV/Off-road drivingRocky

One of the highlights of our time in Moab! We did it from Potash road going upward in a 2WD 4Runner on 10/13/20 and didn't have any problems. I personally wouldn't do this road in low clearance vehicle. The worst road conditions are just outside the park. The river bend overlook is amazing! Much more fun than just looking at pull outs from the park road. If you have a fear of the heights, the switchbacks might be scary, but we thought they were pretty mellow.

We did this trail top down on the way back from Canyonlands to Moab in a Jeep Wrangler. The trail was super fun. Only thing to note is keep an eye out for incoming vehicles so that you can stop at the curve on switchbacks and let them pass. Keep an eye out to see Bighorn sheep near Potash. After doing this trail we went to the Dead Horse Point Overlook to see sunset. You can see most of the trail from this point.

Fun drive. we started in Canyon lands and drove in the Moab direction. took us under 1.5 hours and we stopped for photos a few times. Most vehicles can do this, sedans will require some maneuvering around high points. We did it in a Mitsibishi Outlander no problem. We started at 9AM on a Sunday and there was more traffic than I expected. Lots of people in their brand new TRD Pros or Rental jeeps offroad LARPing at 5 MPH.

Really fun and gorgeous trail, you can spend hours driving/stopping and having fun with the scenery. Drove down which I would recommend as it gets the step dropoffs out of the way early. You do not need a high clearance vehicle to take this road although 4WD helps especially at the end of Potash road where it gets a little sketchy. Overall there is plenty of space on the road and pullouts for passing cars; it's not that scary or technically difficult. Highly recommend this to anyone! We let the air out of the tires to about 33 and that helped since it is pretty rocky and can puncture a tire. Recommend doing this as well.
