Beyond the standard loop of this trail, there are many branches which lead down to the creek and to the service road which leads to the park to the West. Great trail, multiple options and paths to explore.
Many tributes to fallen police officers, including a memorial for K9s.

The waterfall is beautiful, and tends to only be running full after a TON of rain! This Sanctuary has amazing biodiversity and quaint trail characteristics. It is a must-see - a tranquil spot. You can still hear an occasional car or train but for the most part it is quiet especially with full foliage. Great surrounding area as well - Parkville is so cute. Really lucky to have this right next to Park Uni campus!

looks like a nice trail but doesn't allow dogs

Very pretty trail. Couple waterfalls, quiet.

For KC it’s a great little trail, finding natural areas like this that aren’t busy is rare. I could do without the short section near the freeway because of the noise and trash but other than that it’s quiet and beautiful, I imagine it’s even quieter with foliage in spring and summer. Definitely keeping this in the rotation. Also, I believe what a few people thought was a homeless camp is just old debris from decades ago, nothing I’d worry about.
I’ve hiked mountains and know a moderate or difficult trail and this is neither, sure there’s a few dips and tiny hills to maneuver but what else would one expect from a valley? There’s no climbing, considerable elevation, scrambling, or major water crossings so it’s considered easy in my book. If I don’t have to look and think every step through it’s an easy trail and my eyes wandered the whole time. LOL
Can’t wait to see this in spring!

Great for families! My 7 yo had a blast!

Great place for daily dog walk, bike ride, or run. Varied and interesting. Easy access in several areas to change up the route. Loop section is especially nice. Can access the creek in early spring.

Interesting area, good for kids, close to city.

Great trail! A very peaceful walk.

Any day on a trail is a 5 star day. These trails are fantastic if you like the grit and city trail ambiance, views and city sounds unseen while being on the trail and at times blazing that come with it. If you are looking for a path these may not be for you.

So beautiful! Nice fresh mulch trail. Beautiful thick trees, flora, and memorials. Such a quaint and pretty pond!! Saw many people walking their dogs off the leash - all well behaved and thoroughly enjoying the trails and pond. I highly suggest this trail. It’s a hidden gem. There are parts that are more on the steep side.

Great trail and so close to so many potential riders and walkers.

This is a great trail. It is a good practice trail for biking the Katy Trail, but this has more dips and hills than the Katy. Also, this has plenty of parking as well as stops around restaurants, play grounds, QuikTrip, and it is safe. You can ride as little as a mile or do the whole thing down and back for a 28 mile ride. One of the best in the area.

nice inclines, beautiful scenery!

Just right for my skill level. There is one point after the 1.5 mile marker in the counter clockwise direction where two trees are very close together and on an up slope right after a down and corner, so in a transition I guess, that brought me to a stop both times I reached it.
There were also two logs that I kind of had to pause to go over, but that is mostly because my bike is more cross country edition and has the large sprocket on the front that many mountain bikes these days do not have.
Overall, great ride and flows well, definitely a course one could ride for a while without getting bored and at the same time improving your skills and confidence.

Needs maintenance– spider webs obstructed almost the entire trail and grass was slightly overgrown. The trail itself was an easy walk with wooded scenery. Fun to see the buffalo and elk enclosure. Overall good Friday afternoon for us and the dog– although we got completely covered in ticks.

ruff root covered paths, bridges in disrepair but one good bench passed the cascade.

The hike itself was find it just took us around 3 hours to do the loop because there were around ore 100 or so spider webs in the middle of the trail. Not so much fun swatting webs every so often. The small loop around the park was really nice though.

Love this trail. Very pretty. Easy enough to do while baby-wearing.

Got covered in ticks, not much to see till you get to the lake, and by then we had been through hundreds of spider webs, and right before then was when we had noticed we were covered in a plethora of tiny ticks. Also very overgrown in some stretches.

This is an easy trail for those who want to get into hiking. The scenery is really on the back end. There are other trails nearby like Hickory Grove.

Wonderful shady trail

Not allowing dogs ruins this trail

The trail itself was beautiful and felt fairly moderate, although it may have been the 100+ degree weather talking. :) The only downside was who we are fairly sure was a homeless man hanging around at the far edge of the loop, near the highway. Didn’t get good vibes from this gentleman, and my boyfriend and I hightailed it through the last 1.5 miles. A shame, because the hike really was fantastic!

The walk was really pretty, but there is no signage and I didn't go out for long or very far because of this.
