We did the Coyote Point Section of the trail. Beautiful trail with some steep sections. Overall not too bad and 40 minutes for one way.

Nice easy hike. Our small dog made the whole trip from the campground up to the 5th falls with no problem. Some steep spots that were muddy and slick. The trail by the upper falls gets very close to the edge in some areas, so it can get a little scary if you're not into heights. Definitely watch your kids if you go to the upper falls! Overall a great hike!

Muddy but great trail with some challenge

Great easy hike with multiple water falls, swimming holes, and paths through the woods.

Sugarloaf is a nice, short hike up, though with a heavy backpack it can become much tougher. Since they moved the trail, however, it’s less sandy and the dirt is packed to make a fairly easy hike. When you reach the top, the view of Winona is really something to see, especially when you look up and down the river valley.

We like to go climbing there in order to introduce beginners to outdoor rock climbing. There are a few non-technical routes with bolts and chains. However, you will have to lead up to the top-set, and although the lead isn’t difficult, you will definitely want someone experienced to climb with you.

This was a nice easy trail. The rocks were pretty amazing but really cant give this a good review because the mosquitos overwhelmed the trip. I will do this trail in late Fall or Winter and review once more.

Cruiser lake trail end to end is well marked, mixed shade and sun. Isolated. Head nets are necessary. Ticks were very problematic despite full coverage with clothes and deet. We stayed at Cruiser Lake B5 which was in pretty bad shape. Anderson cove was beautiful. We saw no other hikers on the trail in 5 days.

Trail in good shape! River down so can soak feet. Few bugs.

Lovely trail. It took me about 4.5 hours for a leisurely hike. The Trout Creek bridge is out, but today (June 26, 2018) the creek was dry, so I could walk right across. If it has rained, check http://www.superiorhiking.org for conditions before you go. Edit: after hiking some trails in the Rockies, I’d rate this one as moderate or even easy.

Trail is maintained well, episodic nice views of the river. A bit muddy in places, only because hiking .after several days of rain.

Catch this trail from the Edina Realty Building (parking on the road) the trail goes to Sugar Loaf, but the Sugar Loaf to Garvin trail actually goes to the right. It's not well traveled and is a bit sketchy in some areas, but still a great hike. It ends in a neighborhood where you walk on the road to Garvin Heights lookout, where you can take the trail (stairs) to the bottom of Garvin then walking on road back to your car, or hiking back the way you came. Part of the trail goes through an old quarry that has some bouldering. The view from Garvin Heights is amazing!!!!

Great for MTB or general hiking! Several great views from the top!

It was a hot and muggy day at Whitewater State Park, but my sister and I really enjoyed our first visit here! Hiked the Chimney Rock Trail to Inspiration Point, and then we did the Trout Run Creek Trail. The one by the creek was especially nice because of a refreshing breeze coming off the water. Terrain on Chimney Rock to Inspiration Point was definitely more than “moderate”!

Beautiful, quick (1&1/2hr, not strenuous) & the dog loved it! Great views, amazing old growth trees

Always the best hiking for visitors with a few varieties ranging from easy to hard depending on which way you go up because well, it's sugar loaf. also fun to climb up the actual rock itself, but probably better if you go with a repelling group because it's so much faster and safer.

Easy access hiking from the Superior Hiking Trail parking lot, very well marked, well maintained loop. By my GPS, the loop was about 3.2 miles from the parking lot and back. It is a different loop than shown on the trail description, but not hard to navigate. I am traveling through (not local) and grateful for the ease of this trail - thanks to the folks who put the work in to make it so nice!

Nice relaxing trail that takes you past an old log cabin made from very large timber. Many nature markers along the trail that I wish we had the secret decoder ring for so we would have known why they were there.

nice, low end of moderate, hike with nice views of Duluth and the harbor. well-marked trail with shade from trees on most of the trail. the wildflowers were just starting to bloom!

loved this hike - for those looking for some moderate elevation gain. this one is challenging in places - there is some fairly steep grades and exposure. wear good boots. i had trek poles which helped as well. we did this hike in reverse. the stairs along the main road entry point is the standard entry. you can enter it in reverse as well. whitewater state park is a treasure unbeknownst to many native minnesotans. make a day trip! such incredible panoramas.

Easy trail for the family. My 3 year old ended up on my shoulders for half the trip but my 5 yr old had no problem. Lots of good little stopping points.

Great for a family adventure, and perfect for a chance to leave the city behind for a couple hours. The falls we’re fantastic to see, and you can always follow the trails down to Lake Superior for more great views!!

This was a fantastic hike! The views of the river are gorgeous and ever changing - much like the landscape. I recommend doing the loop counterclockwise. The views of Lake Superior at the very end are a breathtaking bonus! The bridge at the river crossing is still out, BUT is very narrow at that point and we had an easy time crossing. This hike took about 4 hours...and my GPS read that it was more like 7.5 miles to do the loop. Well worth it!
