I absolutely loved this trail! In fact, it is one of my favorite trails to hike. The maps are so easy to follow, the trails are very well maintained and the views are just beautiful!! I hiked this back in December (winter); I am sure it is equally as beautiful in the summer & fall.
Awesome winter wonderland
Lots of ice but very pretty
Did a new year’s day hike and it was lovely - clear signage, easy-to-follow paths, and peaceful winter atmosphere. Much of the path is through the woods, but you do get nice lake vistas closer to the lighthouse. There are some memorial benches along the way if you want to take a rest. Overall this trail is easy with minimal elevation change. There were a couple steep bits that were tricky in the snow.
it was awesome very well mapped out.
It would be tough to hike without someone tramping the snow first. It’s beautiful but not well marked... no blazes on trees, just some numbered posts. Would absolutely do this one again!
Easy well-marked trail system with many options to add or cutback. Pleasant enough but a little dull. Some nice pine sections.
Did it in a virgin foot of snow. Toughest and most rewarding hike I’ve ever done!
Nice hike as always. With the North Country Trail detour around the flooded area, the circuit can be completed with just one minor muddy area.
Nice crisp day. Trail in reasonably good shape except for two muddy/flooded segments and two or three downed trees across the trail. Peaceful.
many options for paths to take. trail has extensions off to the beach also!
Excellent trail!!! Very well marked with some good challenging hills. Definitely would come back! Even the hunters gave us a warning before shooting at us!
Beautiful Autumn day in November. Well matted trail, markers at each intersection, and good mix of eco. Heavily trafficked area. Dogs on leash. Caught moon and sunset over the bay.
Nice to have an extensive trail system nearby. I hiked 5.8 miles and only ran into on short section that wasn’t clearly marked. Be sure to wear orange tho’ as this is an active hunting spot. Today, a group were pushing deer midday with hunting (capture) right from trail in two spots.
More trees down across the trail than the last time I hiked it. Cross country skiers need to be cautious.
so many different trail options and lots of lakes to explore!
Muddy and not well marked but just beautiful.
Nice fall afternoon for a hike. Fall colors are disappearing. More downed trees across trail than when I last hiked it.
