Awesome!!!

One of my favorites.

Great workout!! 2.5 miles up hill to the railway. Lots of cool things to see & really awesome views. On a clear day u can see the ocean. The only drawback is that it is very crowded. But overall it’s a Fun hike! Beware of the sun! Not a lot of shade at all... great in the cooler weather. Bring lots of water.

Very fun trail, it's up hill but you get great exercise and very nice views.

Views are great! It's best to head out before 6:30am to avoid the crowds.

Nice trail with wonderful views of LA. Too crowded, though. Get there early to find good parking.

Snowy but passable for this visiting Wisconsinite. Nice summit views. Warm temps. I only needed a light jacket and headband. I started the route by passing through the ski area and finishing with Baldy Bowl. I only saw three other hikers before summiting. on the way down, I passed many hikers going the other way, easily numbering 50 or more. By the time I finished at 1pm, the parking lot was a mass of humanity, completely full with cars of hikers and skiers.

A bit rainy when we started which made it muddy but it quickly cleared up as soon as the sun came out. highly recommend checking the weather beforehand and putting on high sole sneakers if it's rainy. The top was amazing with a view of the coast and surrounding city. Highly recommend!

First winter hike on this trail. Snowed all day long. I like snow covered Mt. Baldy than dry/hot summer hike. Weather is mild even in January here but still need to drive carefully to the trail head when it snows.

11/26/18 - Great hike with great friends. Love the history within the hike at Echo Mountain and the views at Inspiration Point were spectacular! We went on a Monday and had the summit all to ourselves!

I did this hike before the fires and really loved it

Camped near Bighorn right before the snowstorm hit. What I woke up to was easily the most beautiful scene one can imagine.

Sucks there is no parking beautiful scenery but you have to park really far to even get close don’t know why they don’t do parking spaces up there.

The most being sunsets!

Good trail. Too much traffic for me.

上山走了一个半小时,下山1个小时,总长6.1miles, 很累也很爽

This trail was so much fun and it has some amazing views! As a first timer, i give it a 5 star. For a Saturday morning, it wasn’t packed. If you’re looking for a moderate workout or just a spot to enjoy a nice walk, this is definitely the place. It’s super chill, has some steep hills as well as some the regular cool walk trails. Our dogs loved it! & there’s also a little gated dog park across the street for when you’re done with the “workout” the dogs can run around safely and play.

Nice hike and views. Be aware on the Rabbit Hole section of the loop there are some very steep portions and dangerous loose rocks.

I went on December 21, and ~85% of the trail was in ice or snow. The last half had the hillsides completely covered in snow, from 1 to 2 feet in it. I lost the trail many times after the first half. Very dangerous without a GPS as you can lose your sense of direction (where trail leads), as you’ll see foot prints going various directions and splitting. When I went, there were only 3 other people that I was aware of. Very beautiful and quiet. It was around 40 degrees but it’s not an accurate reading, and there were still heavy gusts when you start to summit.

The trail is very peaceful besides the fact that it is haunted. Suitable for trail running if you're training for uphill portions. I had to mostlt power hike.

Definitely worth the hike. Such a great work out. Switchbacks at the beginning of the trail did not disappoint. Beautiful scenery all the way to the top. It was fun reading the historical placards on the trail describing the old Mt. Lowe Railway. When you get to the top there is plenty to explore at the Echo Mountain House ruins. I could image what it was like at the turn of the century with local Angelenos escaping the city for the peace and quiet of this place. The sunsets are out of this world. Yelling into the Echo phone was fun. Will be coming back for sure. Next time the plan is to make it to Inspiration Point. Another 2 mile trek past Echo Mountain.

Beautiful area, I recommend cold brisk days to hike this area. Go on a semi cloudy day. Stay very quit as you hike in this area and you may see mule deer, scrub jays, bobcats, rabbits, and many other creatures. It can get very warm in the summer months. A bit muddy after a rain. I’ve been here numerous times mountain biking and hiking. During warmer weather watch for rattle snakes. There has been mountain lion sightings as well. Check out the visitor center in the weekends. I am amazed on how little use this parks gets.

Decent. Hit the trailhead 7am, 12/31/18. Few hiker on the way in. ~50*F. The historical points were worthwhile, somewhat strenuous. Lots of traffic on the way down. Total time w/20min. snack, about 4hrs. Lots of gravel slippage on the trail. Have shoes that grip (preferably a hard toe). Views of Pasadena, downtown LA, across the basin were spectacular.

Great for a good hike if you’re in the area. Trees, views, park, and rocks!

No parking, permit only for at least a 4 block radius. Basically it's limited to those who live nearby or are willing to walk half mile to get there once they park legally. Disappointing to say the least.

Started the hiking going up the Baldy bowl trail. Good amounts of snow once you get to the ski hut. Micro spikes and trekking poles helped a lot and were necessary for me in most of the snow and icy sections but there were some hikers who didn’t have spikes and or poles. I think if you had crampons they’re fine but might have been over kill. Reached the summit and then decided to do devils backbone on the way down. Not for the front hearted but definitely worth it. It says 9 miles or something but my strava got me at 12 miles. This is my second hike and I loved it. Can’t wait to do it again.

Terrible. unless you like Mexican trash left on the trail and Mexican boom boxes playing their music super loud. They have no respect.
