Loved this trail. It was a good workout with the reward of stunning views. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful view from the trail. This trail is rated moderate. I hate to see what hard is. Take lots of water and enjoy the scenery. We are beginners so It was hard for us but we were able to conquer it. I would recommend this.

Started from the small parking lot at the trail marked “exercise trail” it was fun but not marked well. The view from the top is amazing!

nice trail up and down. well marked.the entire loop will take you through the campgrounds so be prepared for a great view of campers and a water park and an adventure Park with zip lines. the trail itself was mostly uninhabited with nice views of the lake and the Eastern side of the hills with vineyards. my advice: don't take the loop back by the campgrounds go up to high ridge, take in the cool views, and just turn around and head back.

Great, peaceful walk that can be shortened by driving to close to top. Great for showing family and friends views of Morro Bay.

I hiked the shortcut up and it is hard and steep
Got off the trail twice
Fortunately All Trail got me back on course
1.5 miles up about an hour non stop

Down was very moderate to easy
4 miles an I mostly did a trail run down
About an hour fifteen down

No snakes
Very buggy on the way up

This was my second time hiking this trail. From the road and going in the main entrance you can take a left and take the short route following the creek or you can go right to do the Oceanview, I took this route. About 4 1/2 miles in I missed the shortcut route coming down and ended up doing 6 miles almost to the top. Thank goodness I ran into other hikers thar shared I had passed the shortcut path but followed them down. Steep and a bit challenging since the mudslides and gets a little confusing with the new markers. Did 7 miles in 2:45hr. Great hike highly recommend it! Just be sure to pay attention to the shortcut if you’re looking for it!

Would have been nice if we didn’t get attacked and consumed by mosquitos. Tried to enjoy an early morning hike, but there was no visibility of the bay due to fog. Could have been nice, but I wouldn’t know.

Fun family-friendly hike with some good views. Interesting plant life. Can be made more difficult depending on specific trail route chosen. Great spot for a quick decompress after work.

Great hike, good workout. I recommend take lots of water and be wary of the heat in the summer. Can be 10-20 degrees cooler at the top with a breeze, however. Take it slow and nature will really start to expose herself. Very enjoyable. Maybe even stop and talk to horseback riders. They have done a lot to maintain the integrity and expand these trails.

This hike is logged as 2.3 miles if you take it from the campground entrance. There is another parking lot towards the top of the trail and that is why some may say it’s a quick trail.

Trail is not marked very well and a bit confusing. Going up the trail, there were other unmarked trails which we later learned were Grove Trail and Pipeline Trail. When we were going down, we ended up in the middle of the golf course because we did not go far enough. We ended up walking
along the street near the Inn at Morro Bay to get back to the parking lot just outside the entrance of the campground.

View at the top is amazing with a nice view of The Rock.

All together spent 8 hours, started at church scrambled up loose rocks to properly insert myself on trail, I'm still sore! Came down near Costco went into wholefoods had dinner. Great views, great training exercise. Used Aveenza offline map app works great.

just hiked this one earlier today. fog was a view killer, but it was nice and cool. I will be back, for sure.

I did this hike on 7-11-18 and it was fantastic! I definitely highly recommend it for all levels of hikers.

Short hike from the parking lot but we started from the Inn at Mooro Bay to make it a little longer. Nice payoff to be able to get above the fog!

Excellent. A little tiring once you pass the private property water fuel up (I’m in average shape). That stretch and the switchbacks had me zapped! Parts of the trail are pretty narrow, and flowering plants line them (read: bees!). Lots of bees. It was not a problem for me, but if you are allergic, keep this in mind! There’s not a lot of avoiding them.

Views at the top are amazing. Once the trail ends, keep going down the utility road when you see power lines. You’ll see a little sub trail off to the right that leads to inspiration point.

When in doubt, keep going up!

It is gorgeous from the summit but hardwork if you start from the bottom and not the parking lot that is practically at the top.

One of my favorite trails that I hike often. Easy to semi-moderate hike with different loops and trails. Really beautiful views from the top, and many oaks and wildflowers throughout. Highly recommend!

Fantastic 4.2 mile loop trail with a great view of the ocean and coastal mountains. Be mindful there is poison oak along side the trail and some loose rock on steeper sections. There is a bench on top of the peak thanks to an Eagle Scout's project. Took a little less than 2 hours total, I will be revisiting this hike again soon!

First part easy, second part flat, third part about as steep as you can get! Going up is easy, coming down is slippery. Be careful! It was foggy for us, so the gnats were bad!

Trail is open, checked it out yesterday and spotted a bear as an FYI. According to another hiker it is a mother who also has a cub

This is an awesome trail with amazing views at the summit. The scenery is diverse and the elevation gain is not too painful if you pace yourself. It is fairly gradual. Just a ways before the summit, the trail opens up to an impressive valley with a cliff on the right hand side. There are a lot of mountain bikers who use this trail. If you are hiking or running, be aware. Most have bells, but not all.

This is a great hike, my first one in Santa Barbara. There were times where I felt like I was so isolated I could be in another country, in the forest, and I loved that. It was difficult for me, cannot speak for all but there were some parts where the path is very small. There are some really beautiful views. If you go to UCSB, extra plus because you can see campus from the top.

Trail is open, but looks very different. Jeep road is good but following the creek is a new landscape post debris flow.

It was the first my trail in Santa Barbara . Love it. Little more that 7 ml. It took me 3:15 hrs. I’m an active person and I cannot say it was hard for me . Was a nice sunny day and the view was gorgeous !

Great walk even if you take the short walk. Green and cool in April and May.

Beautiful. Eucalyptus grove, mountains and a peek at the ocean. Spring is the perfect time for this trail

So beautiful at the top, so peaceful!

Favorite mountain biking trail so far! Steep and narrow trail. Don't fall to your left or else you'll be rolling down the mountain. Make sure to go early because it does get crowded with bikers and hikers throughout the day. Best to attach a bell to your bike so you'll want to announce your presence from far away. The view uptop was spectacular.
