Easy hike with a beautiful view of Santa Barbara at the end.

Beautiful hike!

Trail head was difficult to ID at first, but after asking around, we parked at Paseo Del Mar & Avenida Mirola. The view is amazing. Very rocky path.

The views were absolutely gorgeous! You can see all of LA! Breathtaking truly! Don’t miss out. It’s mostly uphill so it’s def a great workout. I ran pretty much the entire thing. Make sure you’re wearing gripped shoes cause on the way down there are a lot of rocks you can slip on!! Just be careful and enjoy!!!

The Cold Spring trailhead on East Mountain Dr. is closed. Not sure how people are hiking this, unless they accessed the trail from another point?

Good trail run. Easy to maneuver, lightly trafficked.

Very easy hike. Very packed on weekends. Plenty of shade. Bathrooms at trailhead were clean. Plenty of parking. The only reason for a three star rating was due to how many people were on the trail.

11/6/18 Drove to the trail head in a Ford Focus st. Take your time and a small vehicle does just fine with no scraping what so ever. Beautiful views at the hot spring but be advised there will be nudists at certain points. The hike out is all up hill making it more challenging on the way back. Pretty decent work out. I will return to hike again.

One of my favorite hikes in Santa Barbara. Great views all throughout.
Moderate hike

Great trail. Good for dogs. Probably not kids, though. Very steep in places.

This trail descends into a valley then ascends on the other side to Charlton Flats picnic area, so the elevation gain is split up which was nice. The landscape and views are pleasant, but nothing spectacular (even for Angeles Forest), we enjoyed looking at the plants more than anything. I just wanted to get some steps and climbs in, so this trail did the trick. The trail was pretty much empty except for a caravan of mountain bikers. The beginning portion of this was shaded, which was a nice way to start and end the hike in the afternoon of a 70 something degree day. I would avoid hiking this on a sunny day in heat hotter than 80.

nice hike it has couple small waterfalls, around 1 miles is uphill and the rest is easy

Nice hike, with much needed shade. Watch your step, don't be like me who talks more than pays attention to whats in front of him

Great hike on the main trail into Sandstone Peak- gradual ascent, some minor scrambling, not too many rocks. Wonderful views across to Channel Islands from Sandstone, but a lot of scrambling and sharp rocks to get there- great for the experience, but not something to repeat often.

I have completed the trail in each direction

you can't really go up the trail with the regular car at least not with a 4 by 4. I recommend you come with either a dune buggy or a 4 by 4 truck.

this trail needs some love. very loose surface. 500ft from the top there are 2 slides that are 10-15ft across and extremely dangerous to pass. we turned back. not safe.

Definitely one of my favorites so far though not sure how often I would come since the drive in (coming from south east) is somewhat lengthy and windy. The trail is mostly easy to follow with the exception near Tri Peaks. You can never have enough sunscreen or water for this hike! Bring a hat.

Off of the Mishe Mokwa trail there is Balanced Rock trail (~ 0.8 miles in and out per map) - this is an unofficial, unkept trail and by no means would I recommend it to someone without a map because it has several false trails. However, the balanced rock is stunning up close and provides great shade for a break! Total hike, 7.6 miles, took me close to ~ 5 hours. Moderate difficulty best describes it. The views make it worth it.

Nice but a lot of up and down and much of it is heavily trafficked.

weird to see the graffiti and smokers but it's a good hike with kids.

New to Southern California and couldn't seem to find a hike comparable to those in Oregon. However, this trail changed everything. I did the whole loop and took the detour out to Tri peaks (which i'd highly recommend). The trail is diverse and has the most amazing views almost the entire time. Loved every second of this trail and I'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to get out on a good hike.

I loved it! Very calm a relaxing!!

Nothing much to see and many people. Still a nice easy hike!

Loved every step of this hike! Gorgeous views.

WAY too crowded. Too many people. Dog crap everywhere and no one picks it up. Trash and crap graffiti. People on the trail don’t have etiquette and will block the whole trail and go slow. Won’t allow others to pass. Waterfall is unimpressive.

October 22: Solo’d to the waterfall and only one wrong turn.

This is definitely hard but we enjoyed the adventure. Backpacked our little one down the whole way and stayed low. Our 7yr old son was very into it. When it comes to walking on rocks the whole way we didn't really mind it and it was fun working our way to the end.

A nice and easy nature walk fit for all ages. You may be greeted by people who maintain the trail and they are ready and willing to give you a small tour or supply you with a fun fact. Before entering, you can pick up a guide that explains the significance of the trail markers which makes it a fun and educational activity for the whole family.

Also, make sure to bring your Adventure Pass to park here.

Good Socal hike with great views of the mountains.

Didn't really enjoy it. Walking on rocks all the time and the shipwreck is not worth it.
