This is a great little trail! The views at the summit are perfect. We had the summit to ourselves at 9am, but came across many others on the way down. Lots of unleashed dogs.

The snow was fairly well-packed, and we used microspikes, but didn't need poles.

Great hike! Through the pines for most of the trip and then pop out above tree line for gorgeous views. Spikes or poles recommended.

If you are passing through this is a must see. Very easy hike. Sort of crowded but you can hike an extra tenth of a mile to get away from the crowd and have the same views.

Coming from Washington State, this was amazing. The weather was beautiful, views fantastic, and easy hike with easy incline.

Quick hike with awesome views! spikes/yaktrax recommended, summit has a very open 360 degree beautiful view as well!! Hike it regularly!

One of the best hikes in southern Utah and a great alternative if you want to skip the crowds at zion! BEAUTIFUL and a fairly easy hike that makes it enjoyable and not too hard!

Idk who kept putting these trails were mtb friendly

Absolutely amazing!!

Definitely a beautiful hike if you can get a permit through the lottery! Went at the end of February 2 years ago and even with the cooler temps, it was still hot. There is no shade so take more water than you think you need!

Very easy trail for families and the payoff is awesome

Awesome views, less traveled than Herman Gulch Trail which leaves from the same trailhead. Definitely need snowshoes though even with the meager snowfalls this year. Steady incline. Had to turn around about 2/3 of the way in due to deep snow and constant post-holing. Still saw some great mountain view’s but I bet they’re only more stunning the farther you ascend.

Great short hike with stunning views in every direction at the top. Packed snow most of the way 3/17, spikes a big help. Gorgeous day!

I would give this a moderate rating in the winter! Steep incline and icy at spots until you get to the top. Great views! I recommend for a short hike outside of the metro area

Bring microspikes in winter months.

great trail with a steady incline pretty much the whole way up. I did this with my wife and two teen sons and enjoyed it very much. fantastic views once you break the treeline. it didnt seem to busy either.

Watched the sunrise over horseshoe bend this week. Absolutely amazing. Very few people there at that time, but by the time he sun came up it was packed already. Recommend going early.

Life's a Beach!

Crowded and people get too close to the edge, but pretty

Went up when it was frozen over with some friends. It's tough getting up and back down with all the snow, but so worth it. Some people hike up and sled / snowboard down. You get to walk around on a big frozen lake once you make it all the way. Really awesome.

I’ve done this hike several times in the past year, and I absolutely love it. I always bring my dog with me and he seems to love it more than I do. The trail is rocky, but not too steep. The top is absolutely breathtaking.

Hiked this on the morning of March 3 after a decent snow shower the night before. My husband and I had microspikes but you could probably make it up with just decent hiking shoes. The sky threatened more snow, but the dry weather held out.

Good trail. Nice and quiet.

Pictures just don't do justice. This place is beautiful regardless of crowds! just be patient bc there are tons of people trying to take cool pictures. it's all in good fun!

My first real hike in the San Juans. Gorgeous.

The trail is not that exciting but the ending view is breathtaking. Perfect trail to bring dogs and older children. Last year, we took our 5 and 8 year old boys. The well worn trail ends at the cliff but you can walk along the cliff to get different vantage points. It’s one of those unreal vistas that feel like you are standing in a painting. One of my favorites in Southern Utah for sure.

I will admit, we didn’t get the ascend part right, we were sort of all over the place! But what a great place to get lost. Appropriate hiking boots and an open mind are a must. The whole surroundings look like a painting, it’s so surreal.
Best advice: look for trail markers like stacked rocks, treaded paths and other giveaways because you could be easily deterred every 500 feet or so if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. The nice thing is, because you’re in a bowl like setting, you know which way is back to the start.
What a reward, though, when the waterfall is at full blast! Amazing experience and highly recommended.

Something scenic

Great Hike.

90 Minutes return from trailhead to top going at a brisk pace. Very well marked, no need to download map. Incredible views.

Fun day hike! Only downside would be the amount of dog poop everywhere.
