Massachusetts Summer Map

beautiful views. Rocky.
difficult in winter.

Fun trail with the pups. Moderate uphill climbs, beautiful scenery, and well marked. The was quite a bit of mud and some snow in mid-March, but nothing a good pair of boots can’t handle. Will definitely be going again!

Nice hike, kinda crowded.

Really great hike. Packed snow, trail broken in. Some icy spots, but did great with poles and crampons. Good training for New Hampshire!

Great hike. Don't let the fact that it's in eastern Mass fool you. The round trip hike is all up and down and is more strenuous than you think.

Great trail for kids. We do this at least once a year. It’s short, but offers a lot in that short walk. Cranberry bogs, large turtles and fish and New England tree varieties.

definitely have a plan of which trails you want to take, and take a picture of the map. it's marked clearly but a lot of the trails intersect and you can go the wrong way pretty easily. they're nice trails to walk on. some of it can get pretty hilly but for the most part it's an easy hike. there's shorter loops you can take but the full loop will take you 3-4 hours.

The view was worth the hike

This was a wonderful hike/walk in the ice and snow. but I would not call it hard or sometimes even moderate. It might be listed that for its length but not the terrain.

Bring binoculars if you have them. Lots of wildlife: deer, seals, hawks or snow owls have been spotted.

Nice hike for the whole family. You'll meander through the woods with views of the pond along the way. The trail-head was easy to find, right off the parking lot at the Park Headquarters.

To reiterate some previous reviewers' comments, I definitely recommend taking a GPS because the trail wasn't consistently marked and there were many confusing intersections. I used the AllTrails app and my iPhone for a map and GPS. This would've worked fine to help guide my hike except that it was about 30 degrees and lithium-ion batteries don't like cold; my iPhone shut off as I was trying to make my way through the maze of this very poorly marked trail. I could've printed the map but I don't think it would've been helpful due to the missing trail markings and miscellaneous intersections. Additionally, I was hiking as the winter thaw was re-freezing which meant that the trail was exceptionally wet and icy.

I may re-do this hike in the spring/summer, or pass on it because there are so many other better-marked trails with more challenging terrain and nicer views.

Always an enjoyable day on this trail.

Nice easy trail,great for families

Beautiful little gem in my home state, lots of snow, probably better off with snowshoes until the snow melts and packs. This trail was a series of different trails, so be careful and keep checking your recording if you want to complete this trail, maybe it was harder to follow in snow too. Very well lit trail so I think in the spring, summer and fall this would be much much easier.

Very dog friendly, great trail! Easily marked!

nice, easy paced trail.

Hiked this trail in the wintertime following a snowfall and was not disappointed. Tough to believe you can find a serene landscape like this tucked inside the I-95 corridor! Great views and well-marked trails, with a few rocky/scrambling areas and several challenging inclines and descents. Good footwear is a must. Will hike the longer variation next!

Grate trails. Well marked and clean. Nice scenery. Took my dog along with me on this hike no issues there.

Easy trails! Lots of winter waterfowl to see. Bring binoculars. Helpful visitor center center

a Must do

Nice easy stroll. The wildlife and ocean views are great! Deer, birds, and sometimes seals. There is also a little museum to explore, Great for kids, not for dogs

Kids friendly. Wear good shoes

Great hike, perfect for an hour outside

Lovely views over the lake. Peaceful. Easy / smooth walk. Took about 50 minutes total.

This hike was great, the green trail is hard but manageable.

The lookout is amazing. My 4 and 6 yr made it.

Very relaxing walk in the woods with my dog!

Very well marked trail. plenty of elevation gain to keep your legs busy and mind focused. a good shoe is a must as many parts of the trail have steep incline and declines on Rocky and jagged terrian.

Great for a nice easy relaxing hike. 10 min walk from Peekskill station
