Mass. Trails Map

A wonderful hike . Great views from Tippling Rock . Can see Boston . Parked on Rt 20 in Sudbury. About 20 mins to Rock .Warning - did discover a tick on my hand . Warm weather is awakening them

If your looking for a workout look no further. Started at Holyoke range state park and trekked to mt. Holyoke in Skinner state park across Seven sisters ect. Did hike early Nov. found the trail to be quiet and challenging with leaves and wet terrain. I loved it. I’m a hiker who likes to make good time. My poles were a true asset. Took me 5 hrs for the 11.5. Trails are marked well. Views are mediocre to be honest. But the challenge is worth it.

Easy side of moderate with lots of roots, mud, flat rocks.

Went here with a 9 and 3 year old hoping for an easy path- there were too many places that the 3 year could not handle. Great trail, had to stop 1/4 of the way and turn back bc kids got tired.

Will definitely come back, sans kids.

Very easy trail if you hike like we do.

Many of the paths are overgrown with thorns!!

Many of the paths are poorly marked and could be quite confusing if you don’t pay attention.

Gorgeous! Highly recommend.

Excellent trail, very people and dog friendly. Hike it early as it gets quite busy after 11, especially on weekends. A very moderate hike that can be made in under two hours. Take the few extra minute to go to East side of peak to get a nicer view to the east. Mt. Wachusetts is prominent to the South, but you have to find just the right spot to see Monadnock to the West. Lots of hawks during migrating seasons.

Very beautiful scenery! Hard hike but sooooo worth the view and a great adventure to explore the outdoors! Love this trail! It’s challenging!

A very easy hike, but really beautiful views. We went during peak fall foliage and it was a pretty amazing sight. You are also able to visit the site of Thoreau’s cabin (there’s also a model of it). It’s $8 to park but there is a pretty nice visitor center and we saw a lot of people swimming at the beaches (even in October).

A beautiful pond with an interesting history, quite crowded however

Would have probably been more fun going clockwise, but great trails. Easy to feel lost in nature right outside a city.

Lot’s to choose from, but not well marked.

Super nice hike. Well marked trails. Most people are really dog friendly.

Took the clockwise loop up Midstate to Wapack... less steep. Couldn’t see a view from Nuttings Hill but the views from Watatic were very good. I was the only person on the peak when I arrived, 9:30 on a Wednesday, but the parking lot was filling up as I was leaving. Definitely one of the better views in Ma. Trails can be very confusing without a GPS. A few more signs at the various junctions would be helpful.

Absolutely beautiful, especially on an Autumn or Spring day.

Me and my dog loved the place !

Pretty hike with a nice view from the fire tower. Detour to Roaring Falls is well marked, plus a fun scramble on some impressive rock formations. The detour to the pond is worth it as well.

Beautiful trails and water!!

Did the Wapack trail on Saturday. Nice steep climb and beautiful views!

There are so many great trails at this park. Also a working farm with a ice cream stand. This has become my favorite walking spot!

My first time here-very pretty, felt very safe- lots of trails- will definitely do it again

Lots of choices, all of them lovely!

Loved it!!

Difficult to follow after the peak going white to orange. Started down to the right after the viewpoint but was able to correct with the app. I met a couple who didn’t have the app and they didn’t make it to the horse cave. Great view at the top. Lots of downed beech trees along the trail.

One of the best easy hikes around. Used to always do an out and back trail up Watatic, but I tried this a few weeks ago and again yesterday, and it was great! My hiking partners liked this loop better both times.

Easy breezy

Mountain biking trails aren’t marked too well. A good ride with some challenges. Will definitely do it again.

Good cardio workout for sure

Fun hike that can be out and back (if you spot cars) or a loop. I’ve done both and the change in elevation gain gets old around the 7th or 8th mile. I prefer to start from the Summit House and hike east. I think it’s a little easier on the knees that way. No legal place to camp, but it’s great to finish the hike under the stars. Just be careful heading down Bare mountain. For the ambitious you can add on Norwottuck to make it a longer hike.

Great hike and the ice cream shop/petting zoo is a fun ending! Take a trail map as the trails overlap many times and some are poorly marked.

What an interesting place with so much water lillies in the impoundment. As for wildlife, we saw a blue heron, an egret, swan and plenty of ducks. For such a nature's paradise, I would expected the place to attract even more exotic wildlife.

I plan on returning under better condition, like earlier in the morning when all the water lilies are blooming. Even still it was a memorable walk. I especially like the observation boardwalk on Main Dike trail.

Great hike. Fairly well marked, though some of the trees with marks on them have fallen. The waterfall is not part of the loop, but is easy to find. The trails are well maintained but tend to be buggy and muddy so I reccomend wearing appropriate footwear.
