This is a fun and relatively easy hike, but there is a section at about the 5 mile mark where the trail is difficult to follow (at least under a heavy amount of fallen leaves) and the yellow blazes are few-and-far-between. That can easily be fixed with a can of paint. My final numbers were 7.3 miles with 693' of elevation gain. I definitely plan to return someday and check out a few of the other trails.

Beautiful views on the blue trail! We got a little turned around at the white rock viewpoint but eventually found our way back to the trail. Would definitely hike this trail again!

Nice quiet trail easily accessible from Rockville. For an alternate starting point, turn off Norbeck onto Avery Rd. There's a little parking lot labeled Lake Bernard Frank. The trail entry is at the end of the lot. You can stay straight on the path to the dam and circle the lake counter clockwise, or take the left turn off the path as you're going downhill and go clockwise (my preferred direction).

We hiked the blue trail and it was a lovely hike!

Decided to walk Quiet Waters Park trail today, Columbus Day 2018. I'm extremely happy I did this trail. It has long stretches of shaded trail, and breathtaking views of the South River and Chesapeake Bay. I can't wait to bring the family back, so we can experience the trail together.

I expected a bit of a view from the summit but you can’t really see anything except trees. Regardless, it was a still a pleasant hike and it wasn’t too difficult. Trail was moderately rocky on the uphill sections.

Enjoying yes this trail since all Billy Goat trails were closed due to flooding.

Beautiful and calm. Good place to stay away from city side and relax in woods.

Awesome!!

I rode this trail on Saturday 9/15. There are some leaves down already and they were wet. In fact, it was quite muddy out there but I enjoyed it. One fallen tree blocking the trail around mile 4 (clockwise). Overall conditions good but muddy.

Nice variety of trail loops with same great views.

Nice and easy trail. clockwise is much more challenging. W more climbs. Watch out for self centered arrogant hikers who think standing in the middle of the trail is ok

Great trail the only drawback is sharing the trail with mountain bike riders. Nearly twisted my knee trying to get out if the way of a mountain biker. Had to step off the trail quite a few times that day for riders. Other than that great hike. Bring water you will need it.

Good clean fun

nicest place we have stayed so far on MD AT. peaceful and quiet. Best spring too.

Good trail, good view. But too many mosquitoes, and the markers are inapparent and confusing.

This trail is moderately trafficked and has tons of dog poop all over it. The trail itself is not challenging enough to be classified as moderate. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

very nice trail, ample parking to be had. went on a sunday morning and the main area/main overlook was PACKED. if you want some time to yourself and pictures i suggest going off weekend. once you get out of the main overlook the trails are good and much less congested. the two overlooks in the back had no one there and i was able to eat lunch solo. sugarloaf also gets points for trail markers along the trails not just at the crossroads. that was a nice touch.

Beautiful nature but poorly marked blazes on parts of the blue trail. At one point we may not have been on the trail at all as the path was very overgrown and narrow on the east side of the mountain.

Had an enjoyable 4ish mile hike around the Lakeside trial. There are several spots where the trail signs are not terribly well marked. The trail itself is pretty but mixed: earthen trail, gravel, asphalt and even a section of abandoned parking lot and road. A few bicyclists and occasionally other hikers. We had a very pleasant hike with our 2 dogs. There is a ford across a steam to get to the trail at one point, which required a scramble up an embankment on the other side involving exposed roots and a bit of mud. Still, it's a pretty hike and quiet in the deeper woods. Highly recommended and will do this again in the fall

Easy in the side near south mtn inn

Great for newbies! it is flat and paved trails. We did the entire loop and it was well shaded in summer. I will not call this hiking, but a nice walk at the park!

Good level of challenging, some steep parts but such a well made path it was no problem. Ample parking (with video security), free (with donations recommended), great views and different path options. Overall great hike!

Great hike. Fairly easy, but White Rocks( north and south) has scenic views. I will agree some of the markings(blazes) were difficult to see. My wife and I did lose the trail at one point. However, given this property is part of a foundation, I am very thankful we have access to it. Worth the hike.

Not too tough. White Rocks overlook was great. Mosquitoes out & fairly wet and muddy in spots.

The blue trail is beautiful and rugged. It is poorly marked in one spot. We took the wrong path and had to back track. We came across a Timber Rattlesnake on the trail.

This was a great and well marked trail! Almost all shaded single track so you do have to stay aware for mountain bikers and horseback riders. I went out on a rather warm Sunday around noon and only came across one other runner and two mountain bikers. My GPS tracked just under 500ft of both elevation loss and gain and I ran/hiked the loop clockwise in two hours. Will definitely be going back.

Not very well marked and All Trails was way off with the red lines. There is no trail east of 7 Locks Road.
