This was a quick down and back hike .8 miles each way. My dad and I took a long lunch break on a Friday for this route. going in the middle of the day made for easier parking and it wound up a perfect break from the work day!

It’s nice beautiful trees

Nice, but more hyped up than imagined. Just about every hike in the area is similar unless you go far, and you can only look at the same tall trees so long before getting bored. California has many other, more exciting hikes, but if in SFO area, this is a decent area. Pain that you need to book in advance, bit keeps crowds of tourists out.

At first you go uphill for about 1/2 a mile and then you start heading downhill. You end up at a beach which is BEAUTIFUL! Coming back the road is steep, but not difficult.

Love this hike, and I’m biased because it’s where my husband proposed. ❤️

Beautiful

Beautiful trail for running/hiking. Park at Stinson Beach parking lot (2-3 free electric car chargers are available; advisable to get there before 10am, otherwise quickly claimed). To get to Dipsea trail head, locate Parkside Cafe (faces the beach), and walk in front of it so you’ll be on Adrenal Ave. Walk up Adrenal (if you’re back is to the beach, make a right on Adrenal), to the trail head (~3 min walk).

Very short hike which yields a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Angel Island, Alcatraz, and San Francisco. It was a bit foggy when we ascended. It’s also very windy at the top. It took us all of 15 minutes of slow walking up a steep incline for this picturesque view

Nice variety, lots of scenic vistas. There are lots of parking lots along the trail, so there are constantly a lot of people doing shorter hikes and carrying things to the beach. At times it was one step away from waiting in line to pass the steep parts. A lot of the hikers were unprepared for steep sandy slopes so dealing with people half-falling down the downhills was also a negative for me.

I was underwhelmed. Parking is a hassle and you have to pay ahead and come during your designated time slot. You can only see so many giant trees and the trails are a bit too manicured and landscaped to feel like an actual hike.

Nice hike, with beautiful views but it is not easy. I’d rate it moderate.

Really great hike! One of the best around. Only saw a few people on the trail and there is plenty of shade! We went in the morning and it was the perfect time. Saw some deer and a banana slug (watch out for them crossing the trail!) Most tourists do not usually hike and just check out the visitor center and around it. I recommend reserving parking in advance online, which is really all you have to worry about when going to Muir Woods.

Loved seeing the Big Red trees. Took the path leading up the hill. great little hike. 1st time had to park like a mile away... so get there early.

I hiked this trail for the first time in January and was so inspired by the beauty, I hiked the loop a second time. Definitely tired after 2 loops, but followed it by a great meal at BooKoo in Mill Valley. I’ve returned three times since because the trail views are lovely. In the summer, the amphitheater is used for live theater so we planned a day around it: We watched Mama Mia and then hiked...very fun. I felt safe hiking it alone, but use your own discretion.

I love this easy hike ! The birding is really good I saw a blue heron here last week.
You can access several trailheads from here as well.

The hike to the peak of Livermore was about an hour to the top. Getting to the peak where that antenna thingy is tricky. There was a tiny path with a lot of shrubbery, but we got there.

Lots of great views even though it was a bit foggy. Bring water, snackage, and a pack. Plan for two optional ferry arrivals and departures. It’s always good to leave extra wiggle time for unexpected traffic, short breaks, and anything else that may come up.

Enjoyed this trail a lot! We went early but it was still very busy. We took some of the trails off of Muir Woods and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Mostly a walk to the beach (not much hiking). Make sure to take the stairs at the end to the top for a nice view of the beach and the greenery around!

There are so many trails; even though we follow the direction, we still got lost 3 times and had to trek back. At one point the trail showed on the map/GPS doesn’t exist. Wasn’t sure I was going to make it through; but I did, yay! We got some sun, fog, and rain, too during our hike. Was a great hike though - loved it.

Nice leisurely walk to Tennessee Beach, great side trails which we ended up doing the trail to Muir Beach the following weekend.

Nice crowd, nice restrooms too!

Beautiful trail! Accessible to everyone. BUSY and people are not as quiet or necessarily as respectful as they should be. You do need to reserve your parking space if you are thinking about driving over there. It costs $8. Loved that my husband could come with me. Hes not a hiker and he was easily able to do this. Gorgeous views.

Took the SF ferry to Saulsilito and the shuttle to the park. Make reservations early enough to get the time you want on the shuttle.

The main trail with the boardwalks is well done and really nice. We got there early 9:30 so not as many people as when we left around 2pm - busy.

Walked Bootjack trail towards the meadow. No one was in this trail due to the “beware of wasps” sign. We saw them but no issues.

We also did the Fern trail to lost trail to canopy trail which was great! A bunch of steps going up but a different perspective from the top of the forest than the bottom.

Dear older children who are being dragged here, it's all up hill (very pretty) but wear your Nikes and your work out clothes and a hat (for the wind, very windy, very). Feels much longer than a mile, you'll have a story for sure!!! Take your pictures before the hike, trust me.

The part that goes from parking lot to Rodeo Trail is wrong— the path is covered in brush, unmaintained and impassable. I backtracked and went further along the road to get on the trail. After that it was good. Karl the Fog was in full effect. I got lost as usual. Couldnt run strava cos of battery drain but it feels like I ran at least 13.1

My wife & I did the "Canopy View/ Lost/ Fern Creek Trails Loop" that was posted near the entrance of the National Monument area, close to the Visitor Center. The ~2.7km loop was moderately challenging with most of the first half being uphill. Lots of great views of the canopy before coming back down to the main area. We loved it! There were lots of other trail options and we'd love to go back!

Amazing views! One of the top views in the entire bay area in my opinion. The hike is steep the entire way but totally doable. I took my 2 year old and had to carry most of the way. Definitely take pics when you get to the top you will be looking down on the Golden Gate, SF and Angel Island

Great hike done a long time ago. It was done in the spring and was very cool and windy. Awesome...

Strenuous but so incredibly satisfying. There are some whale bones at Tennessee Beach. Pretty cool!

This is a very well maintained trail that has amazing views of the ocean. Take the Pirates Cove Trail if you like seeing the ocean.

Windy, so bring a windbreaker.
