Aug. 2018-My husband and I decided at the last minute to go on our very first backpacking trip for our anniversary. Luckily, we managed to snag the last reservations at Whitehorn (night 1) and Robons Pass (night 2) two weeks prior to the hike.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this trail. The scenery is stunning and absolutely breathtaking! This trail is well maintained, everyone is so friendly, and the campsites are clean.

In total, we spent 3 days on the trail and we wish we had stayed longer!

great little trail. very user friendly

Cute switch backs and great view of Hope ! The trails are starting to ice up a tad but easily done in regular shoes/boots yet.

My roommate, cousin and I did this trail October 4 through October 7 this year and it was incredible. There had been a little bit of fresh snow on the ground and it got into the teens at night, but was totally manageable. The first day we hiked from trail head all the way to the berg lake campground . It was tough but extremely beautiful. We had great sunny weather and a slight breeze. Day two we hikes a large portion of Snowbird pass which goes around the back of Rearguard and Mt Robson to the Mount Robson glacier and that was another incredible hike. We also did Mumm Basin, which has a great view of berg lake. Day three we hiked down to Kinney Lake campground and stayed here and the Day four we hiked out to the trail head. I’d like to go back someday, because it really was that amazing.

Great trail. Last time we did it on November 17. Great views, lots of snow, but still doable.

I'd say it's our toughest one-day hike so far. 30km, 1600m elevation. ~40% covered with snow. Took us around 12hr with all the stops. I guess we could've go faster, but there were so many spots, where we wanted to stop and just enjoy the views.

Many people couldn't make it to the top, cause of snow.

Gators, crampones and warm waterproof boots are required.

Did it last weekend with about 35% of the trail covered in snow. Nothing much to bother with until you get to about 1-2km before the peak where the steep incline beings. It was tough breaking through 2-3 feet of snow and required scrambling on all fours at some points just before the peak. But other than that, it was fine and the effort was worth the incredible views at the top. Took us about 7.5 hours round trip plus an hour at the top. Note that we are regular hikers. Carry layers, gloves, gators, waterproof shoes if you plan on spending an hour on the peak, if you don’t want your fingers and toes going numb with cold, and are hiking during the winter season.

What an awesome trail! It definitely should be rated as very difficult. We did the trail 22/October the weather was awesome and the view unforgettable! It is definitely worth it!
We started around 11:30am and arrived at 4pm on the peak. It was a bit to late so we had to go the last 6km back in the dark. But it was perfect!

More of a walk than a hike but a very beautiful spot! Good for a half hour walk in the middle of a long road trip.

Very fun trail. It has a few challenging activities. Prepare for high stairs and ladders.

We Hike the Ridge in July and was a bit cloudy but worth every km of it. A very beautiful place. A must do.

Hiked in via Kinney Lake Trail and came back on Berg Lake Trail. Went as far as Whitehorn Campground (at 11km) and back in 4:45:00 including several stops (watch said 4 hours if nonstop but I walk fast). Trail is easy to Kinney Lake Campground (at 6.5km) but becomes moderate as you move up the mountain at 9km. There are outhouses at both campgrounds. Even on a cloudy day, the scenary is incredible. Easy to see why it's rated so highly.

this hike has been on my bucket list for a while and finally did it! it is everything that people say in their reviews. is challenging but totally doable. we took just over 3 hours to get to the top and took the gondola down. the trail is the best marked trail we've been on in a long time.

it was a nice sunny day☀. We did the 3 peaks all in 1 day. it was scrambling and steep. The chain was very helpful to climb up. I recommended this hike.

You need proper shoes and no need poles.

1 peak: scramble and ladder.

2 peak: Very challenging. Lots of chains to climb up. There is a shortcut to go to peak 3. It is a very short distance and simple view.

3 peak: from the top...You don't need to go back to the 2 peaks. You can climb down and turn right going to the parking lot. there is no chain or ladder to climb down but steep and lots of rocks.

The rocks are big and steep. You need to pay attention to yellow marks from 3 peaks going down to the parking lot.

Tough trail but great views. I stopped near the peak because I felt uncomfortable doing the rock scramble alone. I passed several people on the trail, especially near sunset. Recommend!

Beautiful and challenging. We went to berg lake in one day and stayed two nights. The scenery is spectacular on a clear day.

We went. To white horn very beautiful. Next. We are going to try. Out luck at berg lake

Love this hike! Done it with my kids and dog a few times. Challenging but so worth it!

Super hike to the 3 chiefs, 3 separate summits, with super flat rocks on each for a snack and take in the views. Good stepping practice to start the hike. The alternate route back quite steep in places, take slow.

Amazing hike! Did it mid September, we didn’t have backcountry gear with us so we did the full hike out and back in a day, about 45km. Beautiful all the way! Took about 10 hours with plenty of breaks for our group of 4. The stretch of switchbacks by Emperor Falls is a couple of km’s of some steep hiking but otherwise the 12km before it and the last few km to the lake is pretty easy. Hope to go again and camp next time!
Well marked trail, bathrooms along the way, multiple waterfalls along the way, beautiful views, Kinney Lake is beautiful along the way!

On Sept 23, with a group of amateur hikers: #Climb4Karam, we hiked the trail, starting 4:30 am, we were done around 5 pm.
My first ever such a hike, it was a great life experience .
I personally did not make it all the way to the peak, about half an hour shy.. Icy conditions at the peak, fresh snow on the ground.
We were met by a bear.
Excellent experience ..

Hiked yesterday, it’s late September so we arrived parking lot in complete dark. But it’s one of the best scenes ever seen since I start to hike. The first 6.5 km is long and painful especially in the night time. Personally recommend for hiking in longer daytimes if you are planing to do it in one day. In the peak it’s pretty windy, bring lots of food and water and finish lunch before heading to the last 3 km.

AMAZING!!!!!! One of the best hikes in Canada I’ve done!! We camped overnight on September long weekend and the weather was moody but so beautiful! We could hear the glacier calving off into the water at night which was pretty incredible

Awesome hike!!! Super steep, lots of stairs and have to hold on to chains towards the top. Distance isn’t long but it’s slow going. Don’t bring your dog.

how they do that

An absolute must on the hiker's to do list. Highly recommend to spend extra nights at Berg lake campsite to explore extension hikes, especially the stunning snowbird pass trail alongside the Robson glacier and Alpine Meadows.
