nice trail system near the end of the lake

Was visiting family in Harpswell and couldn’t be happier we visited here. The beach was just amazing. Walking though the fort really gives you an appreciation for the history that took place. Another place I went to but isn’t pulling up on here is Fort Edgecomb. Everything was so beautiful I just didn’t want to leave!

Amazing panoramic views of the bay.

9/10. Excellent views. At some points very rocky and hard to keep your eyes off the ground. I lost the trail a few times over the costal rock scrambling portion but follow the rock stacks. At this time there is a 1.2 mile detour/addition due to some flooding

Views are awesome on top. Going up / down from / to Echo Lake Beach provides the experience of climbing some iron ladders:-)

great short walk good views.

We just did the short loop from the Beech Cliffs parking lot and it was super easy and short, with a gorgeous view of Echo Lake and beyond.

We quit when we were overcome by mosquitos the first week of October.

Loved this trail! The views are incredible and it’s a steep climb all the way up. We actually got to the top and then swung across to merge with the Jordan Ridge Trail which proved to be even harder (climbing stair rods and bouldering) but eventually got us back to Jordan Pond. Don’t forget to get a popover from the Jordan Pond House!

I think this is going to be my favorite in Acadia. We were even socked in with fog which made the top eerie and totally unique. We took the Spring Trail up and Penobscot Trail down. Penobscot was much more gradual down than the rocky Spring Trail- and added an additional half mile or so. Doing this in mid Fall was a plus with all foliage on the way up every color imaginable. We want to do it again on a day with a view, but even with the fog the top was amazing and almost felt we were on the moon. This one is a don’t miss. My wife who is a little scared of heights had no problems at all.

Views are incredible!!! Great for trail running. Many beautiful spots to stop and take in the beauty.

decent hike not one of my favorites though

nice hike with great view up top

Great scenic trail and wonderful for taking the pups.

Mostly easy with moderate short rocky sections. Plenty of opportunities for pictures, multiple off main trail paths to scenic areas. Not a lot of parking spaces at trail head.

Wonderful moderate trail with lots of great views.

fabulous hike! breathtaking views. nice length. gradual incline!

Great hike.

Great trail, nice steady elevation rise. Much of the trail is on smooth ledge which makes for easy walking. Birch spring hole was a great spot for dog to get a drink. My favorite trail in the park at this point.

Found the trail VERY easy instead of moderate but still a lovely trail. Perfect for a hot day because you are under the beautiful pines the whole way. Close view of the water the whole way!

9/19/18. Going North there are fab views a lot of the way up — it’s quite challenging in parts. The descent is more wooded, and the final part down to Bubble Pond is best taken slowly!

Take it clockwise and you get the challenging stretch out of the way early. Views from the top are close to 360 degrees. Spectacular by any definition.

Wonderful short walk/hike around harbor to great granite rock ocean overlook! On a sunny day, many beautiful spots to sit and have lunch, bask in the sun while listening to the ocean and watching wildlife in and around both sides of the harbor. Can follow rocks and climb along the coast to other harbors and to other trails. Nice short day walk!

Great hike with excellent view at the top!

Beautiful trail and an easy walk.

Start at end of Echo Lake parking lot. I took my wife with. She is short and had open heart surgery 2 years ago. There are 4 iron ladders near the top. Go right for greatest views. Come back from top and make the loop back to Echo Lake parking. A fun trail.

Beautiful trail. The real treat about this trail is all the tide pooling that can be done a few hours before low tide...kids had a blast on this trail because of it.

Sweet trail, nicely maintained. Grateful to have a quick hike close to home. ***note ... there are two different trails near each other. The 1.8 mile out and back is the nice trail,. The 1 mike loop is not well traveled, lots of lumps , bumps and ticks!!!

Not a hard trail but def a 5 star hike in my book!
