Chose this route from the summit of Cadillac mountain, after taking the Gorge path to the top. Nice route that somewhat follows the summit road. We had parked near the Gorge path entrance from the park loop road, which was about 1/2 mile walk back to our vehicle on exiting this trail.

Great trail for boulder scrambles. There are definitely a few sections that aren’t for the faint of heart. If you fear heights, take the Orange & Black path to Champlain Ridge Trail

Had a blast on the hunt trail. waterfall was awesome. Getting through the boulders was a blast. Tough trail and it's pretty relentless after the first couple miles. I thought the hellbrook on mt Mansfield was tougher but it was shorter. This reminded me of Franconia a bit with the peaks. Hung out in the stream for awhile on the way back down. All in took 9 hours with about an hour of hanging out at the top and awhile in the stream.

I always enjoy this hike! A challenge for someone afraid of heights for sure but so so rewarding. Please be wary if you are very afraid of heights or unsteady on your feet. Also make sure to wear shoes with great traction - you're going to need it. Awesome!!!

Not long but pay attention, as it is challenging with many metal rungs and hand holds

Fun trail with some challenging sections. You are at the top once you get to the tower!

Nearly killed myself on the ladder part.

Went up in early August. Good, fairly intense hike with well-marked trails. The day before was foggy so we decided to wait a day and it was a great decision. We’re all in pretty good shape (aging from 15 to 50) and it took an hour and fifteen minutes going up with stops for water breaks and pictures.

I only plan to do the Hunt trails to ascend and then do knife edge trail and return.

First hike my son did at age 3. Views are redic.

Great trail. I went early to beat the crowds - 5:30am in the summer - worthwhile, as it most likely backs up with traffic due to the amount of ladders and tight spaces.
Definitely more of a climb w/ Great views at the end for reward.

Excellent views and playful environment! Make sure to wear hiking boots to protect those ankles and ensure solid contact on rocks, as it’s so much fun rock jumping

I’ve never felt so accomplished as when I reached the Beehive Summit. Beware if you are afraid of heights. You will have to climb on iron rungs up the face at various times but the descent is pleasant. Swing by the Bowl after. It’s worth it.

10/10 would recommend

Very fun hike with my wife and two kids (ages 11 and 9). My entire family is in better shape then I and we still had an amazing time. We stopped a few times to let faster people go ahead of us (but honestly I was using these times to catch my breath)...great short hike that gets the ticker really pumping...views and smiles on family’s face was completely worth it let alone the spectacular views

As others noted, the views along the ridge are spectacular. Nothing complicated or advanced here, so the moderate rating is spot on. The trail does require stamina to make it up, but there are plenty of good rest stops along the way if you need them. The top of the mountain has no shade, so planning a early start would avoid the summer heat. It will also give you a chance at a parking spot near the trail head. This trail is a easy descent and makes a nice loop with the gorge trail.

Fun did with wife first timed, then second climb was with son, wife and myself. Was first trip to Arcadia. Was not disappointed. Had a blast and was exciting and felt huge sense of accomplishment as we reached summit and took in breathtaking views of sandy beach and ocean!!!

I would rate this trail moderate-hard. The climb is quite steep on many sections on the way up, but totally worth it! Amazing views from every direction! The temperature dropped considerably at the top.

Definitely a lot of stone steps and 3 iron ladders as in the name- the first was a bit challenging for this short 50 year old whose " afraid of falling"). The views were worth it and there were plenty of wild blueberries to nibble on

Nice hike. I took the family. It was a little steep for the youngest (he’s eight), but he did well.

Again, I’m not a “hiker” but I really enjoyed hiking with my 20 year old daughter on this trail. We’ll, I did better than I thought since I am completely out of shape and overweight.. The trail is very rocky and just a little slippery in places. Its quite steep for a novice but so enjoyable. The views are nothing short of stunning. I had to rest a couple of times but “speedy” the daughter almost ran up the mountain. One thing that was interesting to me was that several times I thought I was at the summit, but was wrong. Oh well!

Great trail, very busy as some spots we had to wait because of congestion

Loved this trail. I was looking for one to make me break a sweat and I got what I asked for. Lots of steps. Huge sense of accomplishment. Finished at Dorr Mtn then to Cadillac. Excellent day!

Ascended on Hunt- think it is a great way to go up- I chose to take Abot down for variety- and think it is more enjoyable than taking Hunt down. A bonus on Hunt is you may end up walking with people finishing the AT as Baxter Peak is the northern terminus. They will have great stories!

I don't think you need to be in excellent physical condition- I know I'm not and was able to ascend in a little over 2 1/2 hours.. I do agree with those that you should hike some smaller mountains first- mostly so you can enjoy what is an incredible hike when you do it -and not pay for it a couple of days later..

If it rains, this is a very different hike- the weather for me was perfect. One short shower gave me a taste of what it might be like if the rock is wet. Still doable, but I would be much more cautious with my steps.

I hope to do it again and plan to Start and finish on the other side. Knifes Edge looks awesome!

Sweet Scramble Hike! Myself, my bride and 12 and 9 yr old boys. Boys loved it. Couple of areas of exposure made them a bit nervous, but steel rungs to hold onto proved to be the support they needed. Took a little over an hour to the top and we took the ridge trail down.

This was the inaugural hike for my daughter and I, and it was amazing. Great bonding experience, to be sure, as neither of us had attempted such a climb before, and we weren't totally sure what the 'Moderate' rating would mean for us. This is a totally manageable hike if you're in decent condition. There are a few steeper, hardscrabble areas, but as other reviewers mention, there are many flat areas to rest, and each rewarded us with a more amazing view than the last. A hiking pole is useful, though not a necessity. While the view from the top is nice, it IS a mass of humanity as most simply drive up. Climb from the bottom;, and bring your camera; you'll be rewarded!

Fun and unique hike with the rungs and climbing. Our whole family completed it including 9 and 11 year old children. Be brave if you are afraid of heights.

Really fun trail. Both my girlfriend and I are in really good shape and not afraid of heights so it wasn’t that bad. We both wore sneakers and had no issues. The hike is really rewarding and I would recommend it to people who love to hike and see great views. There are several different options to make the hike longer or shorter (1.3 miles-11.8) so you can customize it to fit the difficulty and length you want.
