beautiful hike! Not strenuous at all, with lots of great scenery. took my husband and I about 3hrs round trip as we stopped ap many time to get amazing photos. highly recommend microspikes if you're going this time of year (december), especially as you get closer to the falls and at the falls if you want to get a closer look.
only reason I'm not giving a 5 out 5 is because there were several people with dogs not on leashes. Please be courteous of other hikers (especially those who actually have their dogs on leashes). I love dogs but dont love being jumped on when I'm trying to enjoy my hike.

Beautiful hike, perfect For This Time Of The Year, !

Beautiful day with gorgeous view of Mt! A bit windy but otherwise perfect, no crowds easy parking. Our dog loved it!

Great creek side trail. Lovely little waterfall. Icicles were a bonus.

Lovely hike. Went up on dec 2nd. Spikes highly recommended for the final 3rd to the falls.

Nice fairly quick hike. Little bit of elevation to get to the lake, but the loop around it is flat. Expect it to be busy during summer weekends.

The trail is covered in snow about half way up the trail. Crampons and poles recommended if planing to summit.

The trail is covered in snow and can be slippery in quite a few places. If you have spikes or crampons that would be best. Be prepared for the cold and wind with plenty of layers! Saw a lot of people hiking in the dark without headlamps/flashlights, if you’re going later in the day be ready for it to get dark fast on your way down. Gorgeous view at the top!

I absolutely love this trail!! The only problem with this trail that I have encountered, is that many folks don't leash their dogs. This makes it challenging for a dog on a leash. If one dog is on leash and the other isn't, this can create big issues between the two..Please leash your pup's, even if they are super sweet.

Good hike with decent incline... However, it is longer than 3.7 miles. Prepare for atleast 5.8 miles.

It was icy on some parts of the trail, but nothing that required micro spikes. They will probably be needed within the next couple weeks. You will need spikes if you want to go behind the falls though.

Very pretty trail and waterfall. Follows the river the entire way. Microspikes are highly recommended!! don't let the beginning of the trail fool you. It gets icey and rocky.

Great new trail

Did this hike on a beautiful mid-November morning. The scenery was wonderful! You shouldn’t get lost on this trail, it’s well traveled.

Shorty but a goody. Brand new trail head and trail with beautiful bridges. Get there early for that “mirror” effect the lake is known for and avoid the crowds.

Beautiful view of Mt. Hood from the top, and a terrific spot for a picnic. When we hiked this trail back in March it had a lot of ice and snow, so I would recommend micro spikes and trekking poles. My only complaint is the lack of parking. We parked down at the ski area, and had to walk along the highway; Very unsafe.

Really great hike. Stopped by in October 2018 after I ran the Columbia Gorge Half Marathon. Hiked to the Falls with my Mom. The trail follows the creek for most of the way to the falls. It was a great opportunity to test out different settings on my camera. Some parts are rocky and slippery; bring good shoes.

This trail is beautiful and so easy to access. Would be awesome to kayak on the lake in the summer!

Great hike along a river with plenty of smaller falls on the way. There was a downed tree on the trail when I went (11/09/18) about 1.6 miles in. It gets rocky in some parts, but overall fairly easy.

Beautiful, and scenic.
Love taking my dog here.

Best time of year to visit is in the winter! Hike in on the snow and get great views of Mount Hood.

Very busy trail. Small parking lot with not many other options to park nearby. Great views of Mt. Hood and surrounding moutains

New parking and trailhead now open. New route shows on the map. The new trail section looks like a new trail. But the bridges over Camp Creek and other stream are nice and within a couple years it should look great. Really nice to have more adequate parking and not having people walk along 26 to get to the trailhead.

Absolutely Amazing when you reach the top!

Lovely new trailhead and bridges, much better parking situation though sure to draw even more weekend crowds but on this foggy Fall morning I had the trail to myself. A worker told me the Grand Opening for this new trailhead is this Friday Nov 9th. The new trail veers away from the highway fairly quickly, thankfully. Snow started at 4500' today. About an inch was covering the ridge (Tom, Dick and Harry) making things slick. Highly recommend having boot traction of some kind and trekking poles at this point.

the roadside trail head is closed permenantly. do not park on the roadside and walk over, there are trees intentionally blocking the trail at a few points. new trail head is at skibowl. There is a lot visable from the road and they were even nice enough to add some facilities

Beautiful hike! Most people had dogs on leash. There was one off leash that ambushed my dog despite me shouting "recall your dog" because owners had no control. Reactive dog owners beware, a lot of this hike is very narrow.
Great hike, very scenic everywhere
