Nice short walk we. There’s not much direction at the parking lot on where to enter when you get there except a few small signs marking the town trails. However the trails are pretty well marked. If your doing just the loop I suggest to start by entering at the power lines entrance at the left of the parking lot then follow the yellow trail to the brook then following the brook back most of the way back to the parking lot. My sun liked the little bridges we crossed and there were some great places to chase floating sticks.

Beautiful trail! Has several routes and a beautiful stream that runs through it. Easy-moderate level.

Beautiful views and scenery. Can be a little difficult with a kid carrier (Osprey poco pack). Definitely doable but needed to get a little creative for a few spots to get through.

easy trail well marked great for a short walk or picnic

Very well marked trails and easy route.

Great hike but the reports of wasps at the summit are true so be careful.

Very nice and easy hike! The loop is perfect for dogs who need to burn off some energy. The only potential issue is a -18° slope on sand. I went clockwise around and it was at the first right turn (near power lines). It was certainly easy and not a problem for my family, but if you have any physical issues I would recommend taking your time. Overall a quick and easy walk that has a nice pond and some pretty views.

Very well marked trails.

A nice easy walk for my family, didn't even have to carry my 3 1/2 year old...which was key to the plan. Great surroundings.

I've hiked this a bunch of times and it's always great. The views up top are beautiful and you can be up and down pretty quickly. I would rate it moderate instead of easy.

Note: I hiked this on July 28 and was stung by an aggressive wasp at the summit. There have been other reports of people getting stung on the summit too. Be cautious, there must be a nest somewhere and they're stinging without provocation.

Trail is lightly used and in great condition. There were a couple of places where there were trees down across the trail. Pretty views of the river and cedar swamp. Very nice thrush songs while we were hiking.

When the trail splits for bald mountain between uphill to the left or straight/Right, Right is much much shorter and you can still hit the other view points that way

We took the left which was much longer, not well maintained or marked very well in some places.

Easy short trail, Dog and 6 year old did fine

The actual swamp preserve trail is marked no dogs, so i walked the other trail.
Theres a nice waterfall at the start of the trail, other than that its simply a walk in the woods with lots of dragonflies about.
Not great. Not terrible.
Next time, long pants and no dogs.

A hidden gem!! This is a nice easy walk for all hiking levels following a lovely stream with many waterfalls. Well wooded, it’s a great hike to bring the kiddos and the pups, especially in the heat of the summer! While the stream isn’t deep enough to swim, it’s perfect to dip your feet into!

great trails all around the mountain. shannons trail was the one took most of the way but the gregg is nice too. good views throughout.

Beautiful area. We used a GPS to get to the location and it brought us in from the all access road. DON'T recommend this (Blue marker trail is what we took in, over grown and not alot of markers). Thankfully we are avid hikers and managed to find our way to the actual trail. If you use a GPS to the parking lot it tells you that you have reached destination, go another half mile down the road to the boat landing area to enjoy this hike. Yellow/Red markers are much better and great views/hike.

short but rather steep, with a rewarding view from the ledges.

just did in april all snow but cant wait to trail run this one !!

Nice walk in the woods. Trail marked well. Not much in the way of views but peaceful with babbling brook and rushing river. Winding path with some rolling terrain, challenging enough to be a workout when cutting the trail with snowshoes.

This trail is a great little loop it doesnt take long maybe a couple hours. The river is beautiful and so are the falls their is also a neat little spot right where the trail connects to the river and if you go down the bank you can see some some all ruins of giant stone walls. I havnt done enough research into this place to know what it is.

Good trail, hillside terrain with plenty of switchback's.

Nice trail on a road it is easy with a few hills. Just before you get to the water there are snowmobile trails you can follow in the woods, they are a little more challenging. my golden retriever loves it, specially any trail that ends in water.

very cute short little trail

Great little hike. Easy, well marked, fun! Brought our dogs, they loved it too. :) Walking along the brook was really nice and the little section of falls would make for a nice lunch stop. Whole loop took under an hour but there were some other trails if you want to stay out longer. Worth it.

Beautiful views from the 2 ledges. Very wet trail from the last 3 days of rain so care was needed in maneuvering the trail. Some blazes were missing so we had to backtrack a few times. Very steep in some parts. Great workout.
