There were a few muddy spots that took some maneuvers to avoid but all in all a nice hike.

The low spots are flooded. It's hard to do the full loops.

The trail was beautiful! A lot of nice flowers in bloom. The only problem was that one of the creeks had flooded, so we couldn't make it all the way around the loop. We'll try again another day!

Horse trail with various trails interwoven. Needed the app to navigate. Was glad to have All Trails to help us!

RunningGreat!

10 years been living within 10 miles of this trail and this was the first time I ran it - instant favorite. Beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife, and a good amount of variation in elevation due to this area having been mined in the past, but nature has since done it's thing. Like many central Florida trails, will enjoy this during the dry season because I guarantee some areas would be under water during the rainy season. There were a couple minor wet areas to manage but kept my feet dry. Will take a couple more visits to get familiarized with the trail system even with clear trail markers present. Trails were well-maintained as well.

HikingMuddy

This is a pretty cool place. Really liked the elevated paths around the swamp. Those parts gave this place a unique flavor compared to other trails in the area. Only saw five other people there on a perfect-weather Sunday. The trails were very well-kept and had a few wet/muddy spots but were mostly dry heading into expected evening thunderstorms. It's not hard to see how quite a few parts of this trail would be underwater during the rainy season. Would be ideal for a trail run.

Nature tripsGreat!

Level, wide, clean. Dense trees. More a strolling trail. Nice views, but a little loud from traffic in spots. The best part was the bird rehab area. Beautiful birds! Wednesday is reptile day in a building on the property. The kindest and most knowledgable team inside. I am scared of snakes, but they understood. They made me so interested in snakes I touched one for the first time in my life!

Well marked with only a few easily avoidable muddy spots. There are two sections of the AllTrails path that veer off the marked trail, but following the marked path gets you right back on track.

Busy, more of a nature sanctuary than a trail system. Be prepared for a lot of ppl and kids/strollers on the weekends. Not bike-friendly.

HikingGreat!

I loved this trail! There was quite a bit of elevation change throughout it, which I enjoyed because it was something different than the usual flat Florida trails I’ve been on. I saw four tortoises (including one very small one!) and two different groups of white-tailed deer. I didn’t really have a problem with mosquitoes, but definitely make sure to bring plenty of water and a snack or two, especially if you plan to do the whole trail. The paths were very clear and well-marked. I only saw one other person the whole time.

RunningGreat!

First time visiting Old Welcome for a trail run on a cool but humid foggy morning, it made for the perfect setting and some good pics. Trails were well marked and maintained. Saw a lot of deer, a large coyote, the fattest opossum I'd ever seen, and heard some boar just off trail. I could imagine all the snakes I'd see had it been warmer. There were a few creek crossings, nothing major as we're in the middle of our dry season. I don't think I'd want to come out here during summer months, major sections would be too soggy if not impassable. But I'll be out here every fall/winter, that's for sure - this trail is excellent for exploring "old Florida."

HikingMuddyOff trailOver grown

Lots to like about this park, which has a variety of environments. The scenery down by the river is terrific. The red trail is nice and easy for just about anyone. The yellow trail is a bit more of a challenge. It's currently mostly dry but does have a few wet/muddy spots and is overgrown in places to the point where it's easy to unknowingly wander off the trail. I've gotten a little lost in my visits here. If you attempt the yellow trail, wear Iong pants, bring some bug spray and bring a good walking stick. Pay close attention to the trail markers in order to stay on trail. I lost my phone somewhere in there too so if anyone finds it please let me know lol
