Well maintained and clean trail with great views at the top. Wide variety of plants and fungi along the way. A pleasant dog that lives nearby decided to join us on the hike but they are not typically permitted as it is a state nature preserve.

Great trail. Well marked and shade almost the whole way. Beautiful outlooks. You can see for miles at the top. My son and I really enjoyed ourselves this morning.

Beautiful. Very soothing once you reach the falls.

Beautiful! I forgot my hiking books and was abke to do this trail in sandals. W didn't see a waterfall. I'm not sure if we missed it or if that is a mistake in the description. Either way, it was an amazing hike with breathtaking views! We relaxed and did yoga at the top for quite some time, enjoying the mountainous scenery and sunshine!
I would like to remind folks that this is a nature preserve. You aren't allowed to bring your dogs so please don't! I love hiking with my doggie and there are loads of trails where dogs are allowed.

Beautiful scenery, not too difficult trails but just watch where stepping and would recommend taking a walking stick.

Loved this trail. It’s definitely a “rough trail”. Would do it over again!!

Hiked this over 2 days in early July. We parked at the Chimney Top rd parking lot and stayed to the right on the fork for day one. We camped near Gray's Arch and hiked out the other side of the loop the next day. This hike was incredible! Lots of switchbacks on day one that were certainly rough, but it lead to a great variety of stunning overlooks and neat creek crossings in the bottoms. The arch was inspiring, and thankfully day 2 was a bit shorter and flatter. Definitely be prepared to climb lots of hills, scramble over a few rocks, and cross a few streams by hopping between rocks.

Great short hike to a awesome waterfall. Make sure its been raining a bit prior to going fall was little slower than usual but still a beautiful place. Kids loved it as wasn't long at all.

The trails here are very dangerous and slick. I fall and hurt myself. My boyfriend slid almost fall over a cliff and lost his walking stick. If you go here be extremely careful and let someone know where you are going.

The trail is well marked and in great condition. There is a steep climb on the way out but I hike to challenge my body and this is the perfect introduction for someone training.

Super hard to find and google maps doesn’t do a good job of getting you there, but that’s just part of getting there. Once you find it, it’s a super cool trail with a lot to explore.

The trailhead could be difficult to find. I’d say the trail difficulty to the falls is easy-moderate. Access above falls is a little more challenging. We hiked after and during wet weather. This makes for a more spectacular water fall experience. Word of precaution: the trail and boulders are very slick during even the slightest rain.

The cave was awesome and the rock wall was very cool. Saw a ringnecked snake Millipede , chipmunk and a hawk. Wished i brought my hiking stick

The ascension certainly earns the rightful title of pilot knob. Along with what most are saying, it’s a tough incline but glorious, sweeping views await you at the top. Stay in the middle of the path, as poison ivy forms a phalanx on both sides.

Very pretty but a little rough. I am a beginner hiker and it was pretty hard for me. On my way down it’s pretty steep with a lot of drop offs. The trail to the cave and creek is pretty narrow and straight up rock stairs. On the way back we took a different trail that was mainly a gravel rode but it was pretty steep and up the whole way!! My fit bit told me I walked up 25 flights of stairs lol!! Very pretty and great views but for those that are not good with up hill or working on building up endurance this is very challenging!! Also had my dog (Shepard) and my youngest with us and this trail is not stroller friendly (we have a light weight running stroller with bike tires) my dog loved it but there were a few areas that were narrow and I was afraid she’d fall.

Best kept secret in Powell county/RRG. Not a dog trail. not a kid trail, teenager approved for sure. Clear trail, stay in the middle as poison ivy to the left and to the right. Steep climb was invigorating, mt.bikes cannot handle the elevation climb. My son has hit most of RRG and "invigorating" was his observation. Please take care of the trail, we did not see any trash, u can tell anyone that finds this trail can share some cool stories

Fun to have the trail to yourself. Buggy at the beginning (buzzing not biting). Cleared up for lovely waterfall. Pit stop on a road trip was fun. 6 year old loved it.

Very nice trail with different terrain types, creeks, great views. Swift Camp Creek in the Eastern section is a fav. Recommended for a nice day hike!

Amazing view from the overlook!

I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised. Very cool trail that runs along the palisades next to the KY River.

This is a great trail! I'm fairly new to Kentucky and still learning my new surroundings, and this place is definitely on my favorites list. A great way to spend a couple of hours, and the waterfall was awesome.
