It’s perfect for a relaxing run. No need to rush. Just take it in and enjoy!

Beautiful view and lots of space at the top make the end of this climb so very worth it. Tough switch backs at the beginning and evens out after 20 minute or so. Took some novice hiker (Friends) and they did great. Definitely recommend!

View is spectacular. Snow and ice on the trail.

Great hike with lots to see along the way then a spectacular visit if greater Vancouver

Nice views, to much foot traffic for my liking. But a decent hike to be able to do atleast once

This is not a hard trail, I would rate it as moderate.

Went on Remembrance Sunday. The first bit up to Cabin Lake is well maintained but steep. The path is icy in parts so be careful. I would recommend going via Black Mountain and Cabin Lake which I think is shorter plus Black Mountain has views of Howe Sound.

View is excellent!! Well worth the trip.

Steep uphill climb in the beginning was a great warmup to start off the trail. After that, the trail is easy and pleasant. Mildly trafficked on the Saturday afternoon we hiked. Spectacular view at the top

Incorporated this into the Pump Peak trail. nice views from the peak. Lower end of moderate.

A nice hike close to the city. Good variations and nice views from the dam.

The trail is much nicer (and less busy) once past the lookout. The rock gully in the first third was the low point. no views and lots of rain when I did it. might try the Needles on a sunny day

Wow. The views in the second portion of the hike from the Red Heather Hut to the lakes are breathtaking. I couldn't stop taking pictures!

This hike is long but not technical at all. Had I known, I would have started earlier and tried to combine with one of the other hikes that start from the Elfin lakes to make it a huge day hike (Opal Cone maybe). I will definitely do it again if I'm in the area!

PS the last portion of the road to the trail head is steep and bumpy but very doable in any type of car! just take it slow!

Great hike. Viewpoint surrounded in cloud, couldn’t see anything. Snowing at the summit. Totally worth it. Ran into a crew working on the trail - THANKS!

Hiked to the 3rd lake today. Getting to second lake was quite crowed in the afternoon with many people that were not prepared. The trail to the second lake was slippery in some sections and muddy once it became high trafficked.
Go to the third lake, was icy in spots and there has been a dusting of snow. Very quiet at the third lake if you walk around to where the camp sites are.

Really nice. Found it to be well
Kept. Hard to find the start. View was cloudy but I assume normally is amazing.

If you can, do this hike on a week day. Very busy on weekends. Nice moderate hike with spectacular views at the top.
Easy access from Cypress parking lot.

It's a beautiful hike but get started early! It starts to get crowded just before noon.

Get to the trailhead before 9am to secure yourself a parking spot. It was a surprisingly quiet hike on a weekend morning. But it sure does get crowded early afternoon. The viewpoint at Upper Lake is great but can get busy. We continued on towards the campsites (10 minutes) to the secluded sandy beach and took our lunch break there. The views are even more spectacular there!

Did it again on October 20. Wonderful views and pleasant trip.

superbe balade en foret avec bcp de lacs aux couleurs de l’automne. seul regret, le bruit de l’autoroute lorsque l’on admire la vue sur la sunshine coast

Great hike and rewarding views of the alpine lakes. Good variety of terrain. The hike to the middle lake has hard parts (straight uphill for 1.5 miles with stairs) but you’re not just in a forest so you can focus on the view to get you through it. Downside is it’s SUPER crowded. We started around 930am and easily found a parking spot. When we got back down around 12:45 there were tons of people heading up and all the parking lots were packed. Pack some lunch for the third lake and spend some time exploring (ie finding a spot with no people.) Very memorable hike.

Yes, it is a beautiful hike but there is a reason north shore search and rescue get a LOT of calls. The last 1.9km is not a hike but rather is mkre like a rock climb. Fun going up but nit so fun or safe coming down.

Very fun trail. It has a few challenging activities. Prepare for high stairs and ladders.

High traffic. Went there in a rainy day, super icy on the road and we can’t see the snowy mountain.

Hard trail, definitely need a pair of hiking boots

Well marked trail. Incredible views.

Was such a good hike, soo busy! I went on a weekend. Silly me! But nether the less was such a great day. A decent incline and a little bit of climbing, but if you are unstable I would bring poles.

Go early so you can see the view without anyone! It was hard to get a picture without a person in it!

The Trail's rough at parts and there are definitely a few "No Fall" zones near the end! We did it in the worst of conditions, through Fog/Clouds and using a lot of humor (british colonizer accent) and shenanigans! Made a comical video for those who want the full experience here at https://youtu.be/9RJVervFr3c lol! :)

Nice hike, well-marked in the lower part but somewhat erratic nearing the St. Mark’s peak. Roots can be tricky in this last km of the hikes. Beautiful view from up there. Whiskey Jacks make their presence known.

Definitely a climb in the beginning but 100% worth it!!!
