I ride this trail weekly, year round. There are two parallel trails in the loop: the yellow and blue, plus a white section south of Walnut Grove, which is up on a narrow bluff. (The map on here actually highlights the white "goat trail" where the trails are shown farthest apart. The blue is there between the white and yellow but not highlighted on this map.) The yellow trail drys out the fastest, but expect some short bursts of deep sand in a few places. Lots of roots, mostly flat with a few climbs/drops here and there, so you can go fast. Lots of runners and bikers on the weekend. Great for trail running and family hikes too.

Probably our favorite trail to hike with our dog in the Memphis area. Lots of elevation changes make this one more challenging than most in the Shelby county area

Fun trail. I went clockwise and got lost pretty early on and agree that signage could improve a little. I cant wait to go back. I enjoyed the diverse ecosystems that you get to experience throughout the run.

As a local, this is a fun and moderately fast trail for those that know it well. For first time riders, it can hold some challenges. It’s not flat but nothing insurmountable. It’s been affected by work on the lake and may have more changes as lake repairs continue in 2019.

This is a legit 10 mile loop, I absolutely love it. Minus one star only because there are some parts where you can inadvertently go off trail because of some rogue trails blazed by lost folks thinking they were still on the correct trail. Some signage at these junctions would solve this problem.

It’s a pretty easy trail. I like to do it clockwise and hit the ore pit trail at the end. Good overnight for beginners. Really like seeing all the creeks, lakes, beaver dams and such.

First hike on this trail and it was pretty great! Started out on the more challenging half (to the left). Good elevation change. There is a portion of the trail shortly after the halfway mark, where a bridge was washed out. Not a major deal, but did have to find a better spot to cross and jump across the stream

Great day hike. Nothing too challenging.

Great place for hiking, definitely get a stick to take down the spiderwebs. Also, wear plenty of bug spray, especially around your ankles. We stopped to fish a few times and got covered in Seed Ticks. Nothing 10 days of antibiotics can’t solve.

Great hike, moderate inclines, be sure to bring water! Stopped towards the end on a secluded bench to have a picnic lunch!

Great hike..Not bad at all and weather was great

Good elevation gain and losses. Trail has had some work done and new benches are along two most strenuous sections. Trail can be 1, 3 or 4 miles depending on where you turn. Signs have been upgraded recently. Expect downed trees, out bridge and erosion. This trail gets heavy use on weekends.

Loved it! Great trail! The sign says 10.5 miles I ended up doing 14.3.

First trail and I loved it! Will go back soon!

An enjoyable trail run that turned into a hike. I went after office hours on a weekday and saw appx 6 people on trail.

not what I expected

The bike path was well maintained but the walking path was not.

Great hike if living in the Nashville area. I enjoy it because it's easily accessible after a day at the office and can get some good incline along with miles without it being too far outside the city. I recommend bringing hiking poles. There are some steep areas and the poles make it nice. I hiked it during dusk and you see all sorts of wildlife at that time.

It was a nice change of scenery just outside of Nashville. Lots of trail runners. The terrain is fairly rocky with occasional smooth dirt coverage. Fairly maintained trail with good shade. I found this to be a pretty strenuous hike, took 2.5 hours to complete loop taking a water break every couple miles. 6.2 miles total in and out.

Beautiful forest, well-marked trail. Very peaceful, and the hills were enough to get my blood pumping.

Not a lot of elevation. Really nice around Mile 5 and 6. Spiders. EVERYWHERE. Glad I did it once, but definitely a one and done experience.

Very enjoyable with such varied terrain. Lots of trail traffic but everyone was very nice and enjoying the morning temperatures. Hats off to those running the trail.

Beautiful trail!

Such a pretty trail to display the park. We had fun, but I highly recommend picking up a stick as you begin to swipe away the spider webs. They run across the trail and are hard to see sometimes. Not so bad if you aren’t the first one hiking thru for the day, but just a suggestion. This hike will take up a good part of your day. We walked and stopped a few times and clocked about 5 hours.
