A run in a close but safe area :) and it’s off to other trials but this is a gated trails it’s still a nice hike they have restrooms half way /threw along with water (nice picture backgrounds on the bridge ;) of LA when leaving depends if you got out going upwards you go right under the Hollywood sign / good hiking area too (

Was a great hike they have these little water creek spots that the kids (toddlers) will love turtles frogs and birds so they won’t get bord , comforts of pine smells :)

Even though the falls don't flow as much, it's still a great hike.

I hiked this very beautiful trail a few years ago, it was a very nice challenge. Bring lots of water if it's warm, there is a section that has no shade.

this was a tough hike straight up and slippery rocks but worth it for the view at the top and it's a short hike just under a mile

Really cool hike! One moment you feel like your in the wilderness (ignoring the perfectly manicured trail) and then you look off in the distance for a spectacular view of downtown LA, or the Hollywood sign, or the Griffith observatory. Truly a unique experience we'll never forget.

Amazing views of L.A

I’m just starting to get into the world of hiking & camping, this was the first trail on my list & I really enjoyed it! I decided to go in the late afternoon (started hiking around 5) & enjoyed really nice shady areas & beautiful views of the mountains during the second half of the hike. There’s a ton of beautiful greenery & wild flowers/plants, & also ran into a few lizards along the way. The inclines & declines are nothing to be worried about, just be prepared to take a bunch of pictures. I recommend taking the narrow road down towards the larger parking lot, as the incline up after you’re done would be a brutal trek to your car. As a beginner, this hike was nothing too difficult. I will definitely come visit this trail again soon!

Did this but I started near the Zoo.... went up to Amir’s Garden then up towards the ridge. Took some random side trail along a smaller peak to Mt . Lee, and then on to Cahuenga... total trip 6.4 miles

This is a definite "share the road" experience. Equal numbers of hikers and mountain bikers. Most bikers were considerate (had bells and let us know how many were still coming) and friendly. However, there were one or two that flew around the corner and nearly mowed us down. One guy said "My bad" as he flew past us--if he had a bell, we would have heard him coming--get a bell, dude! My friend and I started at about 6:45 on a Saturday morning. We actually went counterclockwise, not on purpose, and only did about the first 4 miles, then turned around. It was a great hike and we will do it again, for sure. (Next time going clockwise, so we can actually see the stream.) There are a couple of places where the trail narrows or has a recent scree pile to navigate over, but all-in-all, a lovely hike. About 50% has cover and is cool. The steam on the side we went was a trickle and dry in many places--but it's august, so..

Great hike.My Wife and I are in pretty good shape and got in a seriously good work out. Saw Hollywood sign from top and bottom. Both incredible views. Bring plenty of water. The water spouts along the way were not working, they look like old pipes that are probably unreliable. There are an incredible amount of intersections on this trail. There is even a 5 point intersection.I used my all trails pro gps app and just tracked ourselves and checked at various points along the way.Its a good thing I did because some trails do not reconnect with each other and you will end up in a different area of the park! No shade but amazing breeze.Plenty of free parking.

Great hike with a good vibe. Lots of people and lots of dogs. Trail is well marked. Snacks and water were for sale at entrance for reasonable price.

the trail was great not much water but still a great view and great pictures. but like everyone says the last part of the hike is all up hill to get back to your car so defiantly prepare for a work out

Don’t believe the pictures. If you follow the highlighted trail it DOES NOT take you in front of the Hollywood sign. You get a quick side view. Otherwise, the overlooks are nice and it’s a good workout.

Steep incline to start, but a great hike if you’re looking for a workout with a view at the top. You can even hike it to the back of the Hollywood sign. We didn’t complete the loop on the way back because it was getting dark so we took the same way down. We will definitely return and complete the loop. Highly recommend.

California has been going through a drought and this summer has been one of the hottest summers I’ve ever experienced. The waterfall has lost its heavy and pleasant flow.

easy enough to do for someone who may not be very fit!

Nice day hike. Wasn’t much water at the waterfall but did find a garden snake and turtle there.

I completed the loop on Aug 4, I really liked the nicely wooded trail, for the majority of the trail I was cover by trees and nice shade that protected me from the sun and the terrible heat.
I definitely recommend a map for this hike, there are so many different trails going in all directions, that even when I was following the Alltrails app very closely I still managed to take the wrong turn and ended 20 minutes wondering around.
I think that the entire loop is too long, by the end I just wanted to be done with it, I think I would enjoy doing this hike one way up to the Observatory then drive back to Chantry flats.

Sad because the water is gone

This is a great adventure.. you need to have good shoes lots of dust and water. We saw rattle snakes so no flip flops...

The waterfall itself is currently a trickle ending in a small pool. It’s still pretty. The hike to get to it was lovely, very green, lots of shady trees. Like folks have already mentioned that last half mile back up to the parking lot is rough and exposed. Almost no shade. Be prepared to sweat and get a good thigh workout. Also watch out for the gnats that follow you all the way through the hike. They wouldn’t let up!

Wonderful ! Most of the hike is under beautiful trees. There’s only like 15 minuets under the sun. The water is cold and perfect for the summer
