I loved how peaceful the trail is, yet there still are little mini trails to fulfill that sense of adventure. Will do again!

This should be rated as an easy trail as it is either paved or a crushed rock base and the grades are gentle. This section of trail connects to other trail systems that can get you from the mountains to downtown Denver. Take a look at the maps and make your own suburban adventure.

trail was snowy so we walked the road up. saw a herd of deer! pretty hike and really easy.

Nice mostly off road trail. Well pathed. Good for walking also biking. Can continue on the Coal Creek trail instead of onto Louisville.

Did this hike in mid November and it was amazing. We got hit by a decent amount of snow throughout the entire hike which just added to it. The silence walking on Dream Lake with nothing but the snow falling was stunning! Definitely rent spikes.

Nice couple mile loop. Walkway onto the lake. Lucky enough to see a Bald Eagle there today. However, people who walk their dogs there need to,be responsible owners and pick up their dog's mess..

We did this on New Year's Day after fresh snow and the views were absolutely stunning. My favorite Boulder trail that week. Added the Chapman loop to it.

started from NCAR to get to the quarry, for a bigger guy like me it can be a bit of a climb but its well worth the view at the top!

Beautiful pathway and views. Would be wonderful to have additional trash cans. Lots of dog waste along the way.

Easy trail that offers very nice views of the mountains to the west. You can go out and back or take the trail down to Chapman Drive (dirt road) and take it back up to the Realization Point parking lot where you started.

It’s a gem - if you’re looking for a flat walkable or easy running trail. Great views of the front range mountains.

Fantastic, well maintained trail. Slightly icy near the top but no problem with hiking boots

What an amazing trail! The view points are unreal. My wife and I completed this in late October and some crampons were definitely needed!

Super beautiful and incredibly easy! We went 12/21 and didn’t snowshoe. The snow was packed enough on the trail, but if you took one step off you’d be able knee deep in snow. So I’d recommend bringing a pair!

The views were flawless and it’s a great, easy hike.

We hiked with a five and ten year old with light snow on the ground and it was awesome.

Ok trail nice when you get to the lake
Easy trail

This is a nice, open trail. It is good for young horses and even had a bridge to practice crossing.
Please, if you are on a multi use trail and horses are allowed, try to be polite and courtious to riders. We usually meet really nice runners and bikers who understand to slow down, say hello. Today we had the unpleasant e experience of truly rude trail runners. When I called "hello" they wouldn't answer and when they did not slow down when I asked, I stopped my horse and waited for them to pass. As they passed one made some nasty comment about us. Really people! So rude. Then later they were on part of the trail above us and yelled at us that we shouldn't have untrained horses on a trail. Totally unnecessary. Any horse, well trained or green, we would like you to speak to us as you pass so out horses know you are human. That's why we say hello. So, if you can't just be polite, head for a trail that doesn't allow horses.

This was a perfect short morning hike. I went on fresh snow with out crampons and it was a tiny bit slippery but definitely doable in my hiking boots. Beautiful overlook just at the end of woods Quarry- especially with the snow! Definitely recommend

We rented spikes which allowed us to truly trek thru the snow with ease — highly recommend. We didn’t make it to Emerald Lake because the sun was setting soon (starts a bit after 5pm in November) but Dream Lake was a real beauty!

Visiting Boulder from New Jersey, and a few hours after landing my friends and I did this trail. Absolutely stunning scenery. Easy enough considering we are not used to the altitude. We decided to go farther and do the Chapman Dr trail which loops back into the same parking lot that we started for tenderfoot! Nice little hike with beautiful views, I would love to do it again!

Did this today 11/9. The trail was quite busy. It had ALOT of snow!!!! In my opinion, the trail was not clearly marked. We were confused which direction to go couple times but the sceneries to the lake were gorgeous. The lake was frozen and it was sooooo windy.

Beautiful glassy lake. Quite a few people there on a Sunday afternoon, including families participating in a professional photo shoot.

Gorgeous, nice short walk with some stairs.

Walking path. Sometimes stop when driving back to Boulder. You can see fish jump out of the lake and sometimes birds are prevalent. Calm and peaceful. The loop goes by fast even at a leisurely pace.

A great jaunt from Chautauqua if you don't have very much time and still want to get an awe inspiring hike in. You won't really get a view, but certainly worth the hike

Gorgeous hike in to the mountain passing some lakes. It's now very snowy and icy, but it's a fun hike to do!

I have been up here several times. Fun in winter. Trail can be run most winter days with just Yaktrax. The snow will be very packed down from the heavy snowshoer usage.

Very short but beautiful. It’s pretty easy but there are stairs made of rock. (Rocks are pretty firmly in place) It took us less than 20 minutes including taking pictures.

A little steep going downhill but the stone chairs are fun and the view of boulder is very pretty! I’d recommend using the app’s “record” feature because there are a lot of trails that break off along the way.
