In spite of being along the main road a lot of the time, this was a pretty and enjoyable trail! Lots of shade and some sun. Gets really good toward the highest point/furthest in. The river of beautiful and there are a lot of huge rocks. Aldo, plenty side trails too. I think it continues at the end of this trail, but I didn’t try it...yet!

Great trail / climb! Amazing views of Catherine’s Lake and Cecret Lake up to Brighton.

The view draws the eye over to Mt Superior and across to Twin Peaks and beyond to Timp and Nebo ...

This is probably one of my favorite trails to run down !

It was pretty. The hike was fairly easy until the last part where it’s rocky, steep switchbacks. I’m out of shape and kinda died a little. The lake was smaller than I imagined but it was so nice just chilling on the rocks catching my breath! The breeze was a definite plus!

Beautiful scenic hike overlooking the Little Cottonwood Canyon, yellow aspens were vibrant. A consistent uphill not any switchbacks that I can remember. Lots of rocks! Will hike this again

This was a wonderful hike. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow. I did use the app to make sure we chose the right trail at one point. We were with a couple who wanted a shorter hike and this delivered but still offered an amazing view at the top. Parking can sometimes we tough but we happened to get one of the last spots. Parking on the road is not allowed. I’ve hiked in this area a lot and this is one of my favorite hikes because of the views. They are beautiful all along the way and especially on top of the peak! Highly recommended if you aren’t looking for something too strenuous.

The view was amazing, the hike was very nice We started at 8:15 and back at 1:, plus we spent time at the lake and ate lunch.

Great hike, moderate hike with spectacular views the entire way. Really beautiful view of the lake. Next time we will bring 2 cars and hike on Thru to Brighton.

Great hike, small amount of challenge and long enough that you feel accomplished at the end, but short enough that you can fit it into your day very easily.
Views are gorgeous, and it's high up enough that you feel removed from it all.

Tough hike but so very worth it for the views!

Hiked to all the sister lakes. Great hike and very beautiful.

Pretty beautiful; enjoyed it. Great hike for a date with someone who isn’t that outdoorsy.

This was a beautiful hike but you now have to pay 6 dollars to park at the base of the hike or walk 2.2 miles to get to the hike.

Ok so it was great and I saw chipmunks, black squirrels, and A MOOSE! But once I got over 9,000 feet, I couldn’t breathe LOL. I grew up in Florida and lived there all my life, so I’m not used to high elevations and I couldn’t breathe worth a damn once we got to 9,000 feet. But it was cool! Would totally go again. Lots of sliding rocks though, be careful coming back down from hiking!!! It’s easy to twist an ankle or fall.

poorly marked and poorly built on the top going for the summit. from the summit be sure to pick the right trail because there are two trails going down. one leads dead end. I got lost on the wrong one. take a picture of the trail you took to reach the summit. climbing up on sand makes it especially difficult. be safe friends .

Good hike if you are looking for a tougher alpine ascent. Trail is a rock garden and steep to red pine lake. We opted to continue on to upper red pine and stay the night as the .5mi further to upper from red pine lake weeds out a lot of other campers. We ended up choosing our own path up and down from upper red pine and choose to navigate the boulder field. It was a more direct route than using the pseudo trail in place and you really can’t miss locating upper red pine. Recommend bringing minimal water for the ascent to save on weight and just filtering more once at the lake for the return trip.

I loved this hike. We decided after hiking a lot of really tough, long hikes that we wanted something mellow. This is perfect. A sense of accomplishment without killing yourself. Started at 7 this morning and we were back to the car before 11(it took us a while because there was a cow(mama) moose and two calves right on the trail and we also got rained on and had to wait out the storm). There was a ton of wildlife and really pretty views. I would rate this as easy!

Great hike but I wouldn't have labeled it as easy. Towards the end of the hike it became a challenge. The last part of the trail to get to the lake is steep and involves switchbacks. To me pretty strenuous but the result of it is very rewarding.

Hate they make you pay now. But this trail is family friendly with some information. It's always nice and cool especially with a breeze.

Great hike. Two days ago went to White Pine Lake, yesterday to Red Pine Lake and today to the two smaller lakes above Red Pine which maybe are 'upper red pine lake' which was well worth the extra climbing, route finding and boulder hopping just for the views back down to Red Pine Lake... I'll post some of the photos. Trail condition definitely better to White Pine Lake with more switchbacks making it less stressful on knees and easier for less experienced hikers. Red Pine Lake and the area around it more scenic than White Pine and the hike to White Pine a better workout while also on a real 'trail' whereas trail to White Pine is closer to an old jeep trail in many areas... that's fine, just a difference. Plus we saw two moose on Red Pine Trail yesterday and I just missed another two cows today according to a hiker coming down.

I go on a hike every Sunday and this has to have been one of the most memorable. The hike is very strenuous and make sure you have some water. You will get tired but keep going, the end lake is way worth it! Pretty steep towards the end.

My family hiked from the Albion Basin trailhead because it was too crowded to park at the campground trailhead. They were only letting in one car for every car that left with no estimate on wait time. That was OK with us, we enjoyed the longer hike, but the kids got a little tired.

This trail was pretty crowded, and while I'm glad lots of people were enjoying the hike, I was unhappy with the lack of "trail etiquette." People on the way down refused to yield the right of way to those climbing. I was even cussed out by some people behind me because I kept yielding to people coming up as we descended. People were also "wading" in Cecret Lake which is strictly prohibited.

We saw a couple of young moose and their mother on the trail through the meadow area under the ski lifts. That experience made the entire trip well worthwhile. The kids were thrilled!

Great trail overall. Most of it can be considered easy. However, it is important to note that the final tenth of a mile or so is quite rigorous with switchbacks. The payoff is just at the top of the hill though. For this who are not accustomed to walking at higher elevation and/or engaging in regular exercise, the last 10th is quite challenging.

Also, there is NO shuttle bus. You can buy lift tickets at Albion base (ample parking). It is FREE to ride the lift DOWN, but not up.

Follows the Red Pine trail until about a mile from the end. Red Pine is a busy trail, traffic reduced substantially once we crossed the unmarked wooden bridge. Closer to 8 miles total. Overall a good hike.

Short and sweet! I wouldn’t rate this hard at all, there were plenty of young children and families coming and going. Beautiful walk and beautiful falls. We love this!

Great hike. Moderate climb most of the way and more difficult last mile or so up to Red Pine. Water level was low. Hiked up to the top of the bowl for a great view of Red Pine.

Short but fun!

Great hike! I did this one a few weeks ago and it was super easy and had beautiful views. We got there shortly after sunrise. Will definitely do this again and even take my kids with me next time.

Great trail with some scenic views.
Second 2/3 up can a challenge if not in moderate shape.

Fun hike but I wouldn’t say it’s easy. More moderate. I hike a lot and it’s a good little climb.

Beautiful hike! Decently steep going up but feels great when you reach the lake! Water and surrounding scenery is breath-taking. Favorite hike in the Wasatch!
