HikingGreat!

The fall leaves are AMAZING right now! We started at about 4:30pm, and the sun wasn’t behind the mountain yet, so it was a little warm for our liking. But the trail is so gorgeous, and the destination is so incredible with the fall colors that we couldn’t complain. We descended around dusk, and it was just breathtaking. One thing that can be frustrating if you are hiking with kids and they like to keep track of their progress on the map is that the switchbacks throw the trail marker for a loop or something—it doesn’t show all the actual switchbacks you have to do. We did this trail October of last year and vowed we’d come back to do it at that height of fall foliage. I’m so glad we did! I had to guess when that would be since there weren’t many reviews (despite being a high-traffic trail), so I’m here to tell you it is RIGHT NOW! The only thing that could have made it better would have been some brisk fall temperatures.

Great hike to do late afternoon to early evening. By then the sun is down far enough behind the mountain you then have shade all the way.

Gorgeous trail- best when hiked in early morning. Make sure to have sun protection, as the second half of the incline has scarce shade. If you are not used to the elevation, it may be rough on the way up but the views are worth it. Besides the main trail, plenty of opportunities for short cuts or off-trail exploration.

This was a moderately steep trail with nice views the whole way. The “cave” is really more of a set of arches, but it was still pretty cool. It took me about an hour to get up there. The trail was VERY crowded at around 11:00am, but it was worth it. I saw lots of kids on the trail, so it’s good for a family outing.

Pretty easy trail. Not too steep. A decently busy one since it’s the most popular in Logan. Great views at the top and on the way up. Always love hiking this!

Good gradual incline. Half shaded, half not. Go in the morning or evening. Slight bug issues in grassy areas but not terrible. Gravel and a drop off in caves with no guard before cliff. Beautiful views.

Sweet little trail. Started and ended easy with a bit steeper section in the middle. Give yourself a couple of hours. Nice to sit and have tea in the caves.

One of my favorite quick out and back trails. Great views and easy to moderate trail all the way to the wind caves. The caves are cool no matter what time of year you go. I like early morning or almost dark for this hike as you’ll be nearly alone. This hike is popular so if you don’t mind a crowd then go. 1.8 miles to caves one way.

trail had moderate to steep sections by overall was do-able for most anyone. trail was 2 miles to the cave, 2 miles back. cave was interesting but was a little underwhelming in my opinion. nice views from the top. shade was intermittent with less as you approach the top.

Good trail but bring a lot of water. We left about 10:30 from the trailhead and it got toasty. I'd estimate 40% shade at that hour. Great views but it was toasty but the breeze at the caves was nice.

Gorgeous hike! Make sure you bring water, the hike is pretty steep and not well shaded. The wind caves were beautiful! I went early (around 6:30am) on a Saturday and only spotted a few hikers.Highly recommend

Nice hike, especially easy to get to from Logan. It’s steep for a lot of the way, but there are plenty of shady spots to stop and rest. The views are so beautiful!
