It's a nice enough trail, with plenty of great views of the lake, but it also basically runs through several backyards (or at least close enough to the houses that you feel like you're in their backyard) and a few of them make it apparent that your presence isn't necessarily appreciated. Though, that was just my takeaway, so your mileage may vary on how worthwhile the trail is.

The trail definitely has some great views of the lake. Unfortunately, it also runs through what appears to be someone's cow pasture. Which is something that very much detracts away from the overall experience. Especially when there happen to be a whole flock of cows right up on the trail.

Fabulous views for a relatively short hike

Be mindful of the landslide that occurred in the counter-clockwise direction (mile 15 and 14) as of January 7th, 2019. But other than that, the trail was clearly marked and offered beautiful scenery. I like to recommend this trail to people that are just getting into backpacking, but even if you aren’t a beginner, you will love this small section of the Ozarks that Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

nice trail, Eagle Scout project bridge over first large stream was very helpful, but many dog owners (5 or 6) let their big dogs run loose, which scratched up our granddaughters with muddy paws.

Great little hike around the lake! As someone else mentioned, the name of the trail is actually Beacham Trail. It was pretty wet and muddy due to recent rain, but still nice. The only sketchy part was the last 0.3 miles where you cross back over the river...it looks like the walking bridge or crossing was washed away at some point, so we got a little wetter than we planned with the high water from the rain. Would definitely do again!

Great little hike with great views. Lots of recent rain so be prepared for some mud and water but still very doable. Only four stars because of all the people.

I love this trail! Beautiful lake spot for great meditating. It is closed today (1/5) due to current hunting season. Anyone know when it opens again?

Great location close to town with great scenery. Disappointed in how much trash was present. Perfect hike for kids under 5! The lake is a great place for them to throw rocks and see lots of turtles!

The trail was difficult at times (maybe my own fault, because I overestimated my beginner abilities ;-) ). Besides that, amazing views. Our dog enjoyed himself too. We will definitely return.

Very pretty, sometimes smells bad, but still worth it!

Great views of the lake in the winter. Had some little information plaques along the way.

Great view from overlook. We've had some good rain and there were several nice and unexpected streams.

The beginning and the end of the hike will test you, but the landscape is worth it. Highly recommend.

loved this place

One of my favourite local trails! It’s got some hills and connects to the larger loop so I can be a little more aggressive if I choose, or make it a quick stop if I have a spare 30 minutes. It is moderately used by both hikers, often with dogs, and cyclists, so be aware of your surroundings. Deducting a star because the land owner refuses to replace the bridge connecting the North Loop with the parking area. When the water is high you’re gonna get wet and that’s all there is to it.

walked the whole loop with my 9yr old in a few hours, the outer portion has small footpaths mainly for bike use and is prone to ticks when thier out. No big overlooks, but there are some neat historical sites and it didn't seem to have alot of traffic, if you do the full loop, in the outer areas. Great for stretching it out for an hightempo hike.

Well maintained, easy to walk, some steep short climbs, nice walk but the overlook is the main attraction, the lower portion near the bottom of the hill does have nice views and some rock formations.

Good for all ages and has plenty to see, caves, waterfall, creeks, hills and large timber. Can have heavy traffic at times.

A cold hike through the woods in late December. I would say this trail is on the easy end of moderate. A gentle downhill all the way to the overlook and then a gentle uphill slope on the way back, with no serious elevation change at all. The view from the overlook, even in winter with the trees bare, is mostly blocked by trees. The trail is very well marked with blazes and signs, and many benches for resting along the way.

Good trail along the lake. I agree with others that it was kind of hard to follow at times, could have been because it was mostly covered with leaves. There were a few houses at different points and a nice little picnic area with a table. The first little bit of the trail is alongside the highway but in the woods. Others that we passed on the trail said they had seen eagles! As an avid hiker I would rate this as easy and not real strenuous. Nice walk through the woods though!

great trail 5.5 miles, ran 2 loops yesterday. it also leads to other trails so lots of options for a day run.

12/27/18 trail is still closed for maintenance.

The trail has some good length to it, it is very well laid out. But, it is just a simple walk through the woods. No special scenic areas.

The trail was better than I expected. It had a few nice rock formations, small rock outcroppings, followed a creek for a while. I hiked counterclockwise and recommend that direction.

Getting in a little Christmas Eve hike. This is a nice, easy hike. There are some other trails that join up with it so if you want to get more hiking in you can. Some ups and downs for elevation but nothing severe. This is a multi-purpose trail so be aware of the mountain bikers. There is ample parking and have never had a problem getting a spot to park. There are some nice rock formations and a spot where if there is a good rain gives you a bit of a waterfall coming off one of the rock formations and falling down to the creek. Nice to have this trail just 15 minutes from me when I need a quick break.

Great level park paved walkway excellent for kids

Love the trails. I take my son and dogs out there all the time. very peaceful

Scenic short trail popular with just about anyone who hikes and lives in the area. Lots of rock features, a creek, a waterfall, an icy trail if winter and around the waterfall. It can be crowded in afternoons if it's reasonably warm, like other Devil's Den trails.

A mainstay for my hiking routine. I periodically come to this trail for a semi-light hike--long and rocky enough to feel like I'm hiking but without the full day obligation. Good views. Limited parking on top, but I suppose it's still better than parking in the campgrounds at the bottom.
