Short trail with some challenging rock scrambles, definitely not pet friendly, nice views

Something new around every corner.

Great moderate trail.

Nice enjoyable hike. We were diverted several times due to a bear family in the area. Saw a lot of wildlife. Great hike for dogs! Very peaceful.

Great hike suitable for kids

This trail was about 40 minutes from us. WELL worth the drive, great scenic look overs, lots of rock formations. Unfortunately a lot of off leashed dogs with irresponsible owners, but we’ve been finding it everywhere lately. None the less, we will be back many more times!

My favorite trail during my time in the park. Fun rock scramble at the end and a beautiful 360 view to top it all off.

my favorite trail in the area

Enjoying yes this trail since all Billy Goat trails were closed due to flooding.

Loved it! Easy diverse terrain and beautiful views. Not crowded. Easy parking.

Awesome!!

Beautiful views. Peaceful place for the sunrise, quick rock scramble.

It was a nice trail. Shaded parts and also parts in the sun. Nice views way up high. Fun hike overall.

A great hike through lots of terrain to get some miles in without a lot of elevation.

Really enjoyed this as a loop w/ my 6 month old puppy. Do the loop counter clockwise- that way you hit the steep stuff going uphill and downhill is a gentle slope if you have a dog and don’t want the trail to be too hard on their joints going downhill

Great views & quick hike. I’d actually call the terrain more Moderate than easy (some rocky parts where it’s not 100% clear which way the trail leads, but the area is small enough you couldn’t get lost). Perfect tacked on after a longer hike elsewhere in the park.

This has to be one of the best value hikes in Shenandoah. The level of effort vs rewarding views is awesome! My 12yo son and I made this out first hike in Shenandoah and it was a perfect way to break-in to hiking. The trail was lightly trekked unlike Hawksbill or other popular trails that can get crowded. There is a fun little rock scramble and a false peak that is the perfect place to take in the views and a snack. It only took 30-45 minutes to summit at a relaxed pace and stops to take in different scenic or fun spots along the way. We did it on a hot and humid July day so I look forward to doing it in better weather in the fall.

Some great views, short and sweet.

Great trail- loved the diverse terrain. Well marked. Even spotted some Ute sacred trees. Beautiful views of Piles Peak. Easy to access and not crowded.

good hike short and sweet.

Beautiful trail, lots of shade. It's fun walking the perimeter of the summit for a view on all sides.

Nice trail with a lot of shade. The views are worth the trip to the top.

Easy hike with lots of varied green views and close to the city!

Beautiful!! Added bonus...we saw the ranches down below. Big sky, open land...magnificent!

Sweet. Great trail. We took out 11 year and she was awesome. About 2 1/2 leisurely pace. Bring water for each person, the first part is a lot of up hill.

Honestly easy trail with not many inclines. Beautiful views like everyone has said and easy to get to. We showed up around 1130 am and had to park in the 3rd lot which is not a far walk to the trail head.

Excellent. Variety of options to veer off. Beautiful terrain. Kids 9 and 13 handled it.

Fun trail! Good for a day hike for the whole family. Mostly wide walking trails, marked very clearly, great views with the smell of spruce trees the entire way. This trail should be deemed "easy" not " moderate"

The 360 summit was everything. And I will quote my dear friend who went with me, "It's like we're in a picture." We stayed up in the summit and just sunbathe for an hour or so because we had already completed the trail. There was a cute grass clearing perfect for camping up ahead the summit too and the woodland sunflowers blooming everywhere was absolutely magical to me. We turned back around so we could enjoy the 360 view even more. A great trail to do before you take up Old Rag! Also stop by the huge rock that looks like a perfect shade if it's raining! But for me, it was more like a giant natural stone sofa! Will definitely take this trail on again when Autumn is here.
