We absolutely loved this trail and the falls was amazing. The first part of the trail is blacktop till you get to the observation deck at which point you can look down to see the waterfall. We then took the dirt trail- which is not marked, you have to leave the observation deck and head back where you came from. In a short distance you will see a dirt trail to your left, not hard to find but you have to look for it. From there this will lead you down to the bottom of the falls. There are lots of big rocks you have to walk down on which was kind of tricky for us since we had our 2 and 3 yr olds in tow but was doable. At one point you will cross a wooden bridge with the creek underneath, very pretty. As you keep walking you will also pass a small cave which was pretty cool. Once at the falls you can swim at the bottom or wade in the water. Lots of large rocks and bolders. The falls is so much more beautiful in person, I wanted to stay there forever taking pictures.
We visited this trail on a Monday so we saw a total of 4 people. There is a large covered picnic pavilion and really nice bathrooms. We saw maybe 4 campsites but there could have been more. Would definitely go back if close to the area. This trail is about 45 - 50 mins from Natural Bridge State Park which is also really nice.

A warm Sunday at Berea Pinnacles. Love exploring and seeing new sights. Very good views once you make the climb up to the ridges. I like to see the views in the fall, bet there gorgeous!

on East and West Pinnacle

This wasn’t really what I would call a hike. Seemed more like a stroll through a park. Don’t get me wrong, there are some uphill trails that will get your legs and lungs working, but some of the overlooks weren’t that great. East Pinnacle had a bunch of trees blocking the view and there was broken glass scattered along most of the trails. Eagle’s Nest was a beautiful view of the area, though. These trails are highly trafficked. We went on a Sunday morning, and by noon, there were lots of people around. It’s a decent trail but nothing to spectacular.

Beautiful. Very soothing once you reach the falls.

No words for this trail. Had an amazing time.

Nice view at the top but you will be ascending quite a bit.

Beautiful

Very well marked! But at the end it can be hard to scale the last boulder! But once you get over it, it is amazing

This fantastic trail offers amazing views and interesting views of rock formations, I can wait to go back after the leaves change colors. Saw the biggest rattle snake I have ever seen after climbing up a set of rock stairs, at least 5 feet long. I would not recommend children under 8 on this trail as it gets very narrow with massive drop offs toward the end.

We thought this would be an easy going loop to finish up a nice weekend but the trails are super confusing. There is not that „one loop“ we ended up doing several loops and crossing paths we did before and had to take some trails twice. There are definitely nice views but the trail system seemed like a maze.

Great time hiking. Beautiful views. I would definitely do it again.

I've been backpacking and hiking all over the United States and this trail is easily the worst. Sign said that you can expect 5 hours of hiking time. Was able to finish it in about 2.5 hours. The views and scenery are pretty much non existent on this trail as it's mostly all in dense forest the entire time. Do yourself a favor and take the 1.25 mile rock garden trail to natural bridge.

We enjoyed hiking in Natural Bridge State Park. The Original Trail was a nice hike, easily done after dinner with 4 boys, ages 4-12. the views were amazing. There were very few others around when we took the after dinner hike on a Monday evening, however Tuesday afternoon there were lots of people around. It never fails that there's a few fools trying to become a statistic in front of your kids... That's unfortunate.

On Tuesday we hiked the longer way, crossed the Natural Bridge and on to Lover's Leap, then down Devil's Gulch. It was more great scenery. there was one section where we were walking on the edge for 50 feet, but not bad - just keep kids by the hand.

Totally beautiful. I went after 2 days of some good rains (mid-July)and the water was rushing wonderfully. The paved trail is nice, but shorter than I like so I took the dirt trail that goes down the Creek a little ways. At the turn around point it is a little hard to find the trail again. If you put your back towards the water the Continuing trail is ahead of you slightly to the right. It almost doesn't even look like a trail for about 30', which is why it's hard to see. (thin and overgrown a bit) There is a large concrete slab just to the right of the trail to help you mark it. Once you go down that way there is actually a bridge that goes across the Creek. It takes you off of the trail maps trail but it follows along side the Creek up to the bottom of the falls just the same but it has an actual path you could walk on instead of having to go through the water for part of the time. The part of the hike off of the paved trail was amazing. Lots of cliff overhangs and beautiful scenery. It was mostly shaded and a very cool walk. You do actually have to follow the trail back and around to pick backup on the trail maps trail and get back to the paved trail. I had cell service the whole way. (Verizon) Definitely go!

Great short hike to a awesome waterfall. Make sure its been raining a bit prior to going fall was little slower than usual but still a beautiful place. Kids loved it as wasn't long at all.

Good brisk walking or running trail next to the water. A few great spots to sit next to the lake and relax. A bit grown up and ticks were pretty bad when I went. I don’t recommend shorts and tennis shoes lol. But overall a nice, easy trail.

Good hike with a cool finish. The bridge is awesome and you can even hike around to see it from afar as well. Lots of side views to explore, and none of it was too difficult.

It was alright, the trail maps (from the park) and trail signs poorly judge the distance to and from different points. Also at several times the trails were quite overgrown with poison ivy. However, the arch itself was beautiful along with the sights through the arch. I would highly suggest taking the final trail to walk across the arch for the higher view of the valley and other ridges!

We enjoyed this trail this morning. The blacktop path was nice but exploring the trails along the creek were the best!
Not your typical “hiking trail” but great for pictures and a cool dip in the pool below the falls.
Great parking and great starter hike for the little ones!

Did the original trail this past Saturday. Good trail. Not very long and good elevation gain. Trail was very busy with hikers because of the great weather.

I tried hiking this trail last Saturday morning. A tree had fallen across the road so I wasn’t able to access the parking lot. Tried hiking later in the day and between the sun, heat and me being tired of hiking multiple other trails. I was unable to complete. Will try again another time.

This is one of the most beautiful places in Kentucky!........I heard that from an experienced Ohio hiker as well as a Kentucky native who hikes all over the state. Needless to say, I had to go. Once you arrive at State Park Lodge parking area, there are several hiking trails leading up to the Natural Bridge and all are short (less than a mile) located at the trailheads behind the lodge. We chose to take the "Original Trail" to the Battleship Rock Trail (one bridge out; however, you can easily get around it), up the Devil's Gulch Stairway, a side trek to Lover's Leap (well worth the extra 20 minute round trip), and back onto the trail leading atop the bridge. There is a sign at the end of the bridge showing you the way to under the bridge or another side trek to Balanced Rock. Unfortunately, we did not have time to do this trek due to it getting dark. From there, you can take the main trail back to the trailhead.

I would say most people will be able to hike this trail. Elders & inexperienced hikers should not take the Devil's Gulch Stairway as it is steep and one wrong mis-step would end it all. By staying on the "Original Trail" the entire way, most should be able to maneuver it without any troubles.

For me, this was an easy "5-star" hiking area. There are a lot of things to do in this area and next time I will plan to stay at least 3-4 days.
Enjoy!

Love this trail. Not a lot of up and down hills. Not to hard if you have someone a little out of shape with you. Beautiful views.

Really enjoyed this one. There was no one out and about for the most part the day we went. Hiked down the trails to the falls and swam underneath. very beautiful.

battleship had a bridge out. not good with kids, which I had 2

Super hard to find and google maps doesn’t do a good job of getting you there, but that’s just part of getting there. Once you find it, it’s a super cool trail with a lot to explore.

very beautiful

The trail was very pretty and I enjoyed being in dense woods. The rock formations all along the trail were fantastic, and climaxed at the double arch. Our group enjoyed exploring and even saw some cool wildlife, such as a small green snake, a lizard, and a black widow spider.

I would warn anyone who is planning to go on this hike that there are obvious hazards (such as the aforementioned spider), but also a ton of poison ivy. My sister is very allergic, so we had to be exceedingly careful to avoid it. This need for caution did detract from the overall enjoyability of the hike. Despite this, the four star rating is still well earned.

Good views from the top. Would definitely consider this an easy-moderate hike
