Numerous beautiful views on this < 2 hr loop trail. A little muddy today and lots of fellow hikers but worth it

Very fun trail with amazing views! In my groups opinion it wasn’t very hard like the reviewers say (and we aren’t in very well shape like most). Would recommend this trail to anyone.

Absolutely loved this beautiful trail! High Falls is a BEAST and easily one of the most impressive waterfalls we've ever seen! The trails were nice and wide, some pretty steep incline between Hooker Falls and Triple Falls, and while there were no trail blazes noted, it was easy to find and stay on trail due to signage. Highly recommend this hike- it was beautiful! Full trail review + more pics coming soon to our hiking blog at www.Wander-Full-Life.com

Marginal at best.......not the greatest or the most beautiful falls but easy for all family members to accomplish. The trail is marked well.

Did this trail with my two year old son. Had to pick him up twice for some tricky parts. (Rocky hills and some tree root steps), but for the most part it’s easy to navigate. Loved walking close to the lake. Towards the end you can branch off onto other trails to make a longer hike. Five dollars a person or 49 a year for individual and 100 for families fee. Beautiful place with much to offer.

Moderate climb, muddy with some slick rocks and roots and lots of traffic but 100% worth the amazing 360 degree views of the mountains. Parking was tight, dogs were friendly and people were courteous on the trail when it got a little narrow or tricky. One of the best trails on the parkway!

Great flow!!

Great Hike but very short and easy. Make sure to take a left over the bridge and not a right to get to the top.

Fun hike! Go counterclockwise by river first! Boys 6 & 10 had a blast!

Yes, better views than Clingman's Dome!

Very accessible and scenic, therfore a bit busy. The first half went by the waterfalls and the covered bridge. It was nice to complete the loop, because even though the second half was less scenic it was a nice quiet stroll through the woods without the crowds.

The views make this hike a really amazing one. So stellar.

This was a great waterfall but definitely not easy.

Great hike and fantastic views

2 Mile Gentle Loop with exceptional views. Best hiked clockwise. Extremely overused, steps are in place all over the mountain. This is a Sacred Space, but one can feel the drained Energy and Spirituality. Mostly Yuppie Tourists. I have never seen so many soccer moms scowl at locals and power broker Dads scrambling to close deals on their cell phones. Hiked on a Monday and still the trail was crowded. Wonderful place to take epic photos if you are in a hurry. I had to stop and take breaks off trail because of the loud, nonsensical ramblings of the Country Club Visitors. Ridiculous. Respect. Please do not gape at me strangely if I do speak with the trees. The second star is because I met a group of 20 Ugandan Citizens on a Paid Expedition. They were so friendly and interested in my type of culture. Wonderful people. Peace, Love, Happiness, and Gooooo...

A fair amount of climbing for a short trail but the trail condition is excellent and that makes the climb a breeze. The overviews are quite pretty and there's an excellent view of the Linn Viaduct. Not much parking so it's best to visit on weekdays.

Straight up for just under 4 miles but was very worth it. Loved the view from the top!

Moderate-difficult. Very steep.

Pretty woods and a view of the river and train tracks from the bluff. A nice walk. Not strenuous at all. A good place for a hammock and a book (or a nap) (or both).

Oh, and the disc golf course is excellent!

But, as mentioned by everyone else, the trail is marked terribly, so be willing to wander a bit or keep the trail map open (no trouble getting service while walking).

This is a steep uphill hike that is worth the climb.

The Trail was very well marked with white blazes for the longer loop. The shorter trail some people mention in their reviews was blazed in red. Markers with distance placed every half mile to help track time and distance. I had 2 dogs in tow and we finished the 5 mile loop in just about 2 hours. The Trail is well traveled and even though I was out early, we passed several groups (more than 5, less than 10). The Trail offered great views of the lake with several stops along the water for the dogs to drink. I would certainly rate this as moderate because there is a lot of undulation. Overall a great hike that I’ll do again.

Great hike. Easy overall, but on a cool misty day, great to be on the trail. Very family friendly.

This trail offers so many panoramic views. The fact the you get this type of view in a recreational area in amazing. The trail is definitely better going clockwise on the loop. It allows you to see the best view last.

An excellent quick hike on the blue ridge parkway. Beautiful views.

Not too difficult. A lot of overlooks on the way up. Nice views of Grandfather Mtn and the Parkway going around it. Some cool rock formations throughout the hike. 2 mile round trip from the parking area.

great trail, I agree, the directions to where it starts isn't correct. it's on your right -you'll see the signage. it just stops at the blue ridge parkway, but if you take a left once you hit it, you can walk down to Haw Creek Valley Overlook. it's not too far down, just be careful.
our dog loved the trail!

Great trail and amazing overlooks.

Great local trail. Mostly shaded and love seeing the deer

The reason I only gave this hike 3 stars is because I enjoy being close to the waterfalls instead of seeing them far away.. It’s not a long hike but it is downhill the whole way and then you have to hike back up. I wouldn’t do this one again.
