Quick and easy walk. Beautiful weather in the early fall!

11/11/18 Short trail to Dripping Cave is currently closed. Saw lots of deer, coyotes, and different birds.

Super fun trail, lots of random ways to go and not much structure, so if you like it that way this will be cool for you.

not bad, nothing to brag about. great for families nice quick brisk walk suitable for all ages. nice and peaceful just hearing the nature around you.

Peaceful and easy beach stroll!

Nice little lunch time hike. I like going to the right for one full loop, then going back up the left side until it gets down to the lowest part then turn around again to get 3 uphill portions. Only way to get the heart rate up in my opinion.

This trail is great

I really like this trail, I usually run to Santa margaritas from Ladera Ranch at weekend

Fun and beautiful! Great for kids too

Beautiful & peaceful! And lunch @ the date shake shake a tasty bonus!

Nice trail and great walk.

Is a nice hike, but you need to watch for bikers

A bit charred still from the fires, and the water level is low, but still a pretty hike and nice loop, away from the hustle and bustle...but not too far so it’s easy to access!

I kinda love this hike. On weekday mornings I’ve been there have been few people, so it is a peaceful solo hike. I will say the furthest mile out (before you head back toward the trailhead) is not “Easy”—quite difficult in fact. A steep incline, but you can always just turn around whenever you’re ready to head back.

Pretty area, rather empty on weekday mornings, and lots of water. Biggest thing to note is that it is CONFUSING with lots of little trails branching off all over. If you track/record on this app though, you can see when you’re getting turned around. Or don’t track it and test your wayfinding skills (if you don’t need to be anywhere anytime soon)!

Well-kept trail, but rather boring. Open plains, an uninspiring view to the east of buildings and and freeway.

The hike was fairly nice and there was nobody on the trail. Parking is difficult to get to if your coming from the north, because of the Uturn on the 133. Those exiting the 73 toll road tend to not stop/yield when turning right. I probably would not come again due to this.

very easy walk with fantastic scenery, toughest part is finding parking

This is a moderate trail. you can have option to push a lil harder by trying a stiffer road or just follow a flat road.

love this trail, but currently closed due to wildfires.

It’s really short, but it’s not a waste of time if you do it in conjunction with one of the other trails that are near there, of which there are many that are steep and fun. This one is nice for beginners, and it’s basically just a loop in the open space preserve, but when was the last time you walked into the middle of a big open field? It’s good for kids too.

Easy beautiful trail, part goes on a paved road, the other part is on the beach which is a good balance. Parking rate Mon-Fri after 5 pm - $3.

I didn't do quite this exact trails, but very similar. We started at the Los Trancos parking lot ($15), crossed PCH and took the paved path down to the side of the golf course. This part of the hike up on the cliff has some pretty views and lots of bathrooms along the way. There are plenty of spots to head down to the beach, but if you keep walking until you get to the golf course before you head down, you can see the cool Monterey Formation geological features and explore your first batch of tidepools! From there, we walked along the beach, peering into tidepools and crossing over some rocks along the way. Make sure you go at low tide to be able to cross all of this, or you may have to head back up to the cliffside and take a different beach access point down. We head down the beach until we just passed the Historic District and Beachcombers, stopped to look at the tidepools there, but honestly, got annoyed with the OC crowd (everyone was complaining really loudly about absolutely everything!), so we headed up the stairs in the Historic District, walked back along the cliffs back to Los Trancos.

A nice little beach walk, not strenuous at all. Got sweaty at the end as the morning started to heat up, but overall a very easy hike! (No dogs allowed! We saw one lady with her dog up top, but there are signs at all the beach access points that say no dogs.)

I did this trail in the late morning into the afternoon with plans to stop at the Beachcomber for lunch halfway through. It definitely took longer than expected to get midway but well worth the wait. If you want to do the same bring a back pack with a bathing suit and cover up and a credit card, so you can enjoy the restaurant/bar and lay on the beach.
However I should have ate less at the restaurant because the steep hill shortcut back to where we parked the car was not ideal on a full stomach. We ran out of time and had to cut the rest of the hike short.
Overall, gorgeous views and a nice breeze. But definitely not “easy.” I would say easy/moderate.
I didn’t realize the lower part of the trail is on the actual sand. Walking on the sand isn’t easy in my opinion. But a nice change of pace from your run of the mill dirt road trail.
Also there are plenty of bathrooms which is nice.

Nice easy trail to follow.....TRAIL closed when you reach the turn to go to the dripping cave due to regrowth from fire. So unable to finish the last .4 miles. Tons of rabbits and a nice cool creek to splash your face if you get hot

Short hike in and amongst a pretty urbanized area. Saw a few pelicans and various birds. There are no signs but plenty of ways to loop around where you came from. Flat the whole way and pretty dense with weeds and bush. Cool for an hour or so, but not going to blow your mind :).

Beautiful view! I went yesterday with my husband to see the sunrise around )5:20am) and was worth it. Quit, peaceful and with a great great view. I also enjoyed staying down the beach after jogging in the trail, was so romantic.
Best time to go is before the sun come out to avoid the hit !
Highly recommended
