Like others said, the trail is a bit tough to find And isn’t super maintained. We retraced our steps a couple times and experimented with different paths. Did end up the quarry then basically had to turn around and go back. It’s around the quarry point where you do get the one very nice view. Brought a lab and retriever as well. No issues there. Overall would recommend if it’s your thing. Be mindful of loose rocks and debris when going up and down.

Easy trail, great spot to hike with kids. Very beautiful during autumn. Pretty waterfalls and streams in the spring and after heavy rains.

Pleasant hike.

Excellent easy to moderate hike. 360-degree views from fire tower during peak autumn are stunning.

What a great trail! I have hiked Pleasant Mountain via the Ledges Trail before and almost did that one again today but at the last minute decided to try something new, and I'm so glad I did! the trail goes through lots of different zones - open forest, bare rock, grassy areas, more dense forest - so there's a lot of variety to keep the hike interesting. A few spots with nice views on the way up and gorgeous views of the Whites from the top.

we took blueberry trail up. much longer and more difficult than was expected. with elevation to blueberry hill and then decent and climb back up to tower. not much of view unless you climb tower, then beautiful.took tower trail back. lots of rocks. All in all we enjoyed it and would go again.

great place to explore. easy trail.

Watch out for porcupine my dog got jacked up at the Vet

Finally got to hiking the mountain in my hometown-we went on a hot day so it was difficult with my asthma but if we’d done this hike on a fall day I’d rate it moderate. Trail starts out steep right away! But levels out as you go. We found a BUNCH of blueberries on the trail, bushes everywhere. Overall a fun hike and pretty views.

Wonderful trail with beautiful views. It’s moderate but definitely. strenuous if you aren’t in good shape. Took my dog along. Saw a few people along the way. From Denmark road parking area it’s about 3 miles to the top. There is access from the other side of mountain that is about a mile shorter. Took about 2 1/2 hrs to reach the summit and about 1 hr 40 mins to get down. Stopped a number of times for my dog who was really struggling with the heat, and for ourselves on the way up to catch our breath. We had plenty of water. On hot humid days you will need about 3 liters of water for a person plus a dog. Trail is steep from the start until reaching about 2/3 of the way up, then there is relief as you hike the ridge. Definitely worth repeating.

Great view, fresh mountain water to dip in. It has several natural holes to sit in .I could get a book and just sit there for hours. It’s a short hike to the top. I would love to come here in fall. .

The hike gets steep right from the start but that just means that you get to the great views faster. I found the views along the ridge on the way up to be just as enjoyable as the view from the top, if not even more so. This was my first time hiking alone so I was nervous about getting lost but the trail is very well marked by either yellow diamonds or cairns.

This was a really pretty trail. Well marked trail with flower/plant photos. There are areas that are steep so having a trekking pole is helpful if you tend to have some unsteadiness. Really is for different skill levels. My husband and my 2 teenage boys and 8 year old all made it challenging for themselves.

Great hike! Took about an hour and a half to get to the summit. I would say this is a moderate hike, like others have mentioned it starts right off steep right away and then levels off for a little before the last steep trek to the summit. Had great look out points throughout the whole trip. Would recommend for a quick day hike in a beautiful area!

Great challenging hike, relentless 1.6. Loved it!! Great reward at the summit!!

living near the base of this mountain I find it one of my favorite trails to hike.

great mountain. feels longer than it is. the summit is badly marked but the top of the mountain is so beautiful that it doesn't matter. at least 3 or 4 false summits that were all gorgeous. some rock scrambles toward the top. I wouldn't suggest folks who aren't active do this trail.

It was shady witch was nice. the tower is high!! we walked it in 89 minutes.

One of the best hikes in the southern Maine area! It’s steep from the very start but levels out a little bit as you get closer to the peak. I’d call the trail moderate but it was definitely a workout! Beautiful, beautiful views at the top. The abundance of blueberries as we approached the peak was a plus.

Loved this short hike to the falls. Great for a little cool swim after hiking some of the more difficult trails in the area

Amazing hike. Did the ledge trail around to the tower. Total of 5 miles. Great family fun hike.

Easy initially becoming moderate. Beautiful atmosphere. The view from the top of the falls is what it’s all about

nice trails and liked that they had a map with all the different trails that you can take

Favorite trail of all time. Definitely moderate and has tough stretches, but is a great hike with beautiful views. Get lucky and go at the right time of the year and there is also wild Maine blueberries at the top (walk into the bushes all the way to the right)!

Grading this hike is kind of difficult. I wouldn't consider this hike as moderate. While hiking 1.5 miles to the top doesn't sound like much, the average slope of over 20 percent is intense.

I do agree that the view from the observation deck is pretty special. Note that there are no views until you get almost to the top.

I hiked yesterday in extreme heat. Bring more water than you think you will need.

I gave this hike 3 stars because it was a one and done for me.

I wish there maps or trail markers, but it was beautiful.

on Monument Hill Trail

It’s a nice little trail, not too strenuous at all. Most of it’s in the woods, and the monument is worth seeing. It has a nice overlook with a view at the top. If you go past the monument and turn left there’s a different way back that makes this a loop. It isn’t shown on the map and there are no trail markers but it is well worn and hard to miss. This way you don’t go back the same way you came. I consider this more of a walk in the woods then A real hike, but it’s worth your time if you want a gentle hike.

Beautiful quick hike
