Nice simple trail. A lot of trail markers seem to be vandalized (missing) finally found the trail that led to the top without having to scale the steep path up the side of the bluff. We came down the steep trail. A good morning 4mi walk when we were finished. The are two other starting places with park that Alltrails does not show you.

Yes, the 3rd tunnel was closed, but we run into a local and she told us we can climb up the side of the tunnel to go over to the other side. Yes, we made it! Although, we saw people just go through the tunnel even it had a "closed" sign. Take your own risk and go to the 5th tunnel. But again, the gate was closed to go further. we gave up from that point. It was a bit of disappointment but got to do a Hoover Dam tour after that instead of looking at it from the hiking trail.

Great!

Did the loop trail instead. Definitely recommend it over this super short one. Picturesque and fun.

Trail closed at 3rd tunnel - we did not see any signs that it was closed until we got to that point. Tried from the Hoover dam side the next day and again there were no signs that the trail was closed. We hiked to the first tunnel and found the gates closed so could go no further. Terrible communication from the park service.

A short hike but a beautiful view. It was very hot the day we went but the crowds weren’t bad.

With all the great hikes in the Vegas area I don't think I would do this one again. It was super easy: wide, flat, mostly straight. But it was quite long and there is no shade except the tunnels, so I'm not sure if kids or elderly could do the whole thing. There are some great views of the lake and the railroad tunnels had bats, but mostly I hiked it so I could get to Hoover Dam without dealing with the chaos of the traffic and parking garage there. Went early in the day in June and had to help an elderly lady suffering from heat exhaustion back to her car and her daughter was going to take her to the hospital. Take plenty of water and keep in mind that if you go to the Dam, it can add at least another mile. Also at certain times of day or year the gates to certain parts can be closed.

Love this trail! One of mine & my dog Annies favorites ✌

Nice flat trail with amazing views on Lake Mead and old railroad tunnels

Really easy hike, more of a walk really. Quite a bit of foot traffic/bikes on this trail. Nice scenic views.

Very easy. Parking lot nearby.

Fantastic find in the middle of the the city.
Just be aware there are coyotes.

Absolutely stunning views of the fossilized Aztec Sandstone dunes and volcanic rock formations higher above, but anyone allergic to bees should know that this trail is currently overrun with them. This is possibly due to the nearby picnic area.

I recommend timing to finish this hike no later than 8-9am in the summer months. Direct sunlight 90% of the trail so bring hats, sunscreen, water! Just before sunrise/just after sunset is the best time to go— better photo ops when the sun isn’t directly on the wave. Very simple & easy trail to follow though. I saw a group of 15+ bighorn sheep right along the trail which was neat!

Very easy to get to. Not that impressive in my opinion. Worth a stop if you have little ones maybe

Fairly easy hike, I would say suitable for all ages 3/4 of the way up. Top part gets a little rocky but is not unmanagable. Lots of benches to stop & watch the view along the way up which was a pleasant surprise! Watch out though— they do lock the gates for this hike exactly at sunset like they say, don’t get your vehicle towed! Just park outside of the gates if you want to go an early morning or late night/watch the sunset.

Nice relatively flat trek out to some interesting stripped rock formations. Entire trail is open with little or no shade and could be extremely hot during certain times of the day or year. This early morning early September walk was very pleasant

Visited the park on the way to Zion National Park and can honestly say I am very glad we did. The Valley of Fire SP does not disappoint. We were able to get in a couple of short rewarding hikes. The rock formations are very unique and interesting. Highly recommended.

Great trail with views of the city and beautiful sky colors right at dusk. Trail is rocky so be prepared for that otherwise easy climb to the top. Nestled in a residential neighborhood. Hidden gem.

park on sunset road & go in straight to the top of the mesa. you won't feel like your in people's back yard. follow trail to the end & turn around & go back. i think it's about 3 mi round trip. nice in the evenings right now.

I did this with my daughter in law this past March. Lots of history. Really easy trail. Nice and long, pretty much flatland. We had a blast! I highly recommend this trail for families with little ones.

Ok little trail to get the blood flowing.
The little back loop is hard to trace if you’re not paying attention.
