Great trail, I’ve done this one twice now both in winter on different years. It’s a great short hike with a few steeper sections. The steeper sections turn it into more of a hike and less of a walk. It is a bit rough when there is snow on the ground and you don’t have hiking shoes/boots with good grip. Overall a great hike.
Cute short walk to the lake. With the lack of snow so far this season, it’s about 50/50 snow vs dirt. We didn’t see too many people on our hike, but I know it can be extremely popular. We parked in a pullout near the green gate.
Wish someone would have mentioned the two cougars that patrol the trailhead and parking lot...saw their den near the bathrooms. Stay clear from this trail and beach area! Not safe!
I was confronted by a family of feral cats that decided my 4 year old looked like a tasty snack. I grabbed a tree branch and waved it towards the cats until they ran off. I will not be returning to this trail.
My dog and I love this trail, but it is often too crowded for her liking. We've done it in all seasons. Today we had the trail and the beach to ourselves. There are icy spots and packed snow, along with bare dirt spots. I used crampons and the icy spots were fine. Beautiful as usual!
park next to the rail
Beautiful views of the lake. Very enjoyable hike and overall very easy except for the walk back up to the top. We walked to Secret cove first then to chimney beach. Secret cove was crowded but we had chimney beach all to ourselves.
Really beautiful spot. Not too many people out there. Hike down to the lake was easy but the hike up was a little more difficult.
Big fan. Huge sandy beach with tons of room for kids to explore.
awesome and easy enough for mom
Hiked this trail as it connects to about 4 others in area. A mix of trails that take you to 3 secret beaches. If you connect and loop all the trails you can make it 4-5 miles. Not that busy let’s dogs run free. Great to go in afternoon for lighting. Only part that can be moderate is the uphill back to car. Not much parking - on side of road- but about 4 spots and 3 access points to these trails
Beautiful!! Stunning views. Easy trail. Parking was a breeze. A++!
Straight-forward hike that our 2-year-old really enjoyed walking. View at the bottom is stellar, especially with the snow covering the mountains. Easy - a nice stroll on a very wide path.
Favorite Tahoe beach- stunning for pictures
Great trail with views of the lake for pictures with family. Dog friendly. Has beach access on both end of the trails
