Beautiful walk with a blooming green spring and gushing waters thru the creek beds - April 2018

Great easy hike. It gets pretty steep at the end near the falls but worth it. Like other people say no cell service so look at the map before you go. Make sure you go after a good rain if not the falls maybe small.

After my first trip here I was disappointed because it had rained a lot recently so it was very wet and I was hesitant to venture down to the creek and see the waterfalls. but after today I loved this place. Hiked along the creek starting right at the bridge and made it to the main waterfall which was unbelievable. The decline to the bottom was definitely dangerous and very steep. my dog made the trek with me and required to be picked up and helped out a few times. But the view and spectacle of the giant waterfall and hiking up to the cave was definitely worth it all.

It was slick on the day I went, a beautiful hike, but a bad day to run. of it is dry and you want hill repeats though this would be a great place.

Fairly easy hike, but perhaps one of the most beautiful hikes I've done in years. 4 waterfalls, lots of small falls and creek crossings with perfectly placed rocks as stepping stones, well maintained and easy to follow trail, beautiful turquoise water, a couple places that look like they would be great for swimming (though it was too cold still today), stunning views of the Van Hook falls with lots of climbing opportunities to get as close to the water as you want. I can't wait to go back next time I'm driving through KY!

Just finished the trails on Sunday and it is worth visiting because of the cliffs and the waterfalls in that area. I would definitely recommend a hiking or walking stick for some areas. The waterfalls are not very large but worth seeing after a good rain day. We recorded our trip if you are interested in seeing some pieces of it. https://youtu.be/3BVwXPmhAsc

Agree with everyone else on this trail. Nice trail to saunter on and enjoy the scenery all along the way. It is odd that the trail marking ends above the falls. Once you get to the falls area, continue past it and you will find the scramble down. Not easy, but very doable. Note that this trail marking is the later access, and you actually pass the true trailhead to get here. It is not marked on the road, but there are usually vehicles parked here. Just use the GPS markings. The trail, including the scramble down to the falls is 1.5 miles out, making an out and back of 3 miles. I have had this issue a couple times with AllTrails, where the stated distance is not accurate. I believe mainly because it uses too few points to map the trail.

Excellent Hike! Even the drive out to it is beautiful.

Beautiful, but keep kids away from top of the falls. Best views in Winter

Beautiful trail. From the gravel road to the trail to the waterfall it was beautiful. So much to see on this trail, it is a heavily trafficked trail. The hike is steep and slippery in some places, narrow in other places, with many little creek crossings. Even though this trail is short in length it is a trail to take your time and allow alot of time. Rock formation, swimming holes, and rhododendron covered trail makes this trail one of our favorites. Please watch small children and pets a few places with steep embankments and not much room for error. Very well marked trail until the very end. Happy Hiking!

I've been to Hanson's Point a few times, and it's one of the best views in Red River Gorge. I would recommend this hike in the fall/winter season. The trail to get to Hanson's Point is not an official trail. So, it's a very narrow foot path tunneled by new pine growth. There are a lot of fallen trees, so I imagine it might be pretty "snaky" in warmer weather.

This is a beautiful hike! We were here with 3 adults and 3 kids, ages 11 and 5. Not very long. Some uphill sections that weren't too bad. Very muddy due to lots of recent rain. Be prepared if you plan to hike after wet weather. We were very pleasantly surprised by the hidden arch and gorgeous waterfall at the end!! This is a new favorite in the Gorge!!

great trail, especially after a good rain!

Beautiful!! We were there after two straight days of spring rain and it was really muddy. Wear water resistant shoes if you know it’ll be muddy. I would classify this as a moderate trail for older people who aren’t in shape.

Easy hike, don't go when it's dry out.

Absolutely beautiful! Once you get to the bridge, you can go up for a easier field hike, or go down and hike the creek bottom. The perfect go-to for a couple hours of peace.

This is a great little hike for families and groups with kids. The kids in our group ranged from 4-9 and there was lots to climb on and over with the prize of the falls to play in after the initial hike in. This location can be difficult to find and gps/cell service is spotty, so know where you’re going before you head out there.

One of the most beautiful places in Kentucky.

Great hike. Beautiful rock formations and an awesome waterfall at the end!! We were able to walk down to the falls and actually walk behind the waterfall. A pretty cool perspective! Will definitely come back to this trail.

Loveee this trail! We rated this in our 3 favorite places we've hiked in Kentucky. The drive back to the trail was a little "are we ever gonna make it there?" But once we got there it was no issue! We took off at the bridge trail (shorter than the other trail head) very awesome hike. The river/ creek is beside you on the right the whole way through which was phenomenal. Once you get closer to the falls you may want to keep pets and children away from the ledge. I took my dog and she enjoyed this hike as much as we did. Once you're at the falls there is so much to see! Make sure you look around every where near the actual falls! the view is amazing all around there. Would recommend this hike 10/10. The hike back is a little more strenuous but still not bad at all! Will be going back again!! Enjoy!! And once you're finished with this hike head down to the falls resort and enjoy the views there as well!

The water levels were higher than normal, so the falls were amazing, especially making the scramble to the bottom of the falls for the best view. Was definitely slick and a technical ascent/descent.

Hiked from the first trail head and it was rough. Looks like this part of the trail has not had maintenance in a while. Lots of blow downs and over growth. If you hike this section be prepared to get your feet wet. Starts off nice, but just gets rough. The second part of the trail from the bridge was great! LOVED the waterfall, made it worth it. Decided to hike back to the second trail head and then walked the road to the first trail head where our car was to avoid the mess we had to hike through.

Close enough to Lexington to get hiking in, see waterfalls and explore. The trail to lower waterfalls near river could be marked better.

We went with our dogs yesterday and it was great! There are a few different trails and we chose the one down to the waterfall and cave. It was very beautiful because we have had a lot of water recently. The path is very narrow, so keep that in mind when bringing dogs or children. It is pretty steep and we were afraid our dogs would pull us down at times. That said, it was a good short hike. We can’t wait to go back!

very nice trail. I went 2/26/18 after a few weeks of heavy rains. I wasn't able to make it down to the big falls because of the volume of water flowing down the creek. it was much more of a rushing river than a dry creek bed today, but it made for great pictures and scenery. I would rate the majority of the trail easy, but the part that followed the stream was more difficult, especially with the high water levels today.

Very nice, uncrowded, but can be difficult to find because of unmarked roads.

Awesome hike! Beautiful scenery!!!!!

nice little walk

Beautiful out and back hike. Total of 2.2 miles from second trailhead. Cross bridge over creek then follow trail to the right. Several small up and down paths on trail. Wonderful view of the falls at end of trail.
Can continue trail to tha Cumberland river and then on to the Sheltowee trace trail.
