neat trail that winds around and through some neat rock formations, very pretty. dog / kid friendly

Lovely easy trail along the ledges of large rock formations. The stairway created by the civilian conservation corps is really cool and worth checking out. The signage can be confusing. We ended up doing a loop on the happy days trail and then back on track with the ledges.

Used to love whipps as a kid. Too much garbage now too dangerous for puppy paws with so much broken glass. Sad.

it was very nice

This little trail is a very nice break from all the flat farmland in the county. It's very well maintained and sits on beautiful land. It can get very buggy, so consider bringing spray especially in the evenings. Overall this is a great place to have so close to home.

i like the trail it was hard but it was worth it i plan on going back soon

I'm a bit of a newbie at trail riding (mtb) but it proved interesting and a few roots and rocks made for a challenge at unexpected times.

We enjoyed this trail August 28th and apart from the section that ran alongside the Ohio Turnpike, really enjoyed the walk. Most of it under the trees on winding paths. Not as popular as the towpath where there are a number of bikers, we only met a few fellow hikers. Returned to the Boston Store Visitor Center for the restrooms and then over the road for an iced coffee in the small store.

Completed 7/8/18

This was my second attempt at this trail, the first being a year ago when I moved to PGH. It was definitely easier than before, but the rolling climbs are harder than expected! Total, the out and back took 6.5 hours with a considerable rest stop at the Mill. Our pace was brisk, so make sure you're physically ready to complete this trail. The portion near Eckhart Bridge is really beautiful - save time for photo stops if that's your thing.

Easy as it gets! Grew up loving this park. Nice visitor center. Simple to find on the way to Newark. Beautiful gardens, trees and lots of birds and bees!

Just over 1 mile. Easy hike. Beautiful views of the lake. Easy to follow trail.

A great trail for adventuring! You can make the ledges as challenging as you like.

Lots of cool birds doing the flying activity, including two bald eagles doing a little fishing. Plenty of herons and turkey vultures too. The lake is a cool backdrop to the hike, even if the terrain isn’t challenging. Too many people though.

Not difficult, and the river is easy to cross if you're okay with getting a little wet. By the falls, the river is deep e ought to swim!

Beautiful scenery and nice creek walking areas. Some paved path, some gravel. Very simple hike/walk. Many birds and deer to see. Nice fire pit and view from the bridge. Lots of benches.

This trail was super fun! It was very unique and easy. There’s a really pretty scenic overlook if you cross the field too.

Beautiful maintained trail. Direction were little confusing though.

We walked the entire length of the trail about back, which was about 15 miles. The foot traffic near the falls was pretty heavy, but along the trail we only ran into a few people. Very much enjoyed the walk.

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. During our trip the trees provided a wonderful canopy from the rain and the hot summer sun for most of it. Great trail with some exciting challenges throughout.

Whipps ledges is an amazing trail on the Hinckley Reservation. I finally had the chance to visit and it's nothing short of beautiful. Check it out if you are in the area!

Just hiked this today with my dog (4 month old lab). He loved it just as much as I did. Definitely recommend this trail for someone who’s looking for a beautiful hike with a slight challenge to it. One of the best in the area in my opinion!

I basically live here tbh.

A must do in the evening to watch sunset on the ledges! Easy & fun hike!

Another beautiful trail in the park. Easier hike than the alpha pass trail. Waterfall is a nice payoff at the end.

Very nice hike. Super scenic and well cared for. I’m sure the mountain bikers have a blast given the fun ramps that are placed throughout the trail. We only had four bikers pass us during the hike- so it was pretty quiet. Only negative is having to walk along the highway a bit. That was a little nerve wracking because cars are zooming past. The other thing to watch for is the narrow muddy paths. I wouldn’t recommend hiking the path if it’s rained recently. You’ll want it to dry out a bit. Another thing to note: this trail is 6 miles. Not the 5 it claims to be. But I definitely recommend it!
