This hike was amazing! When we arrived at the very first fork in the trail, right after the signs, we decided to go left. This brought us up and up and up to some amazing views. This was a bit hard for me since I’ve gotten out of shape recently but would have been a breeze if I had been staying moderately active at the time. We brought our two dogs- one large and one small- and they had an easy time keeping up, however, the small one had trouble walking on the rocks at the beach. All in all a great hike.

Easy to access from the train station and had multiple paths to descend the top! We went down by Seoul National University so we could have new views on the way down. Heavily trafficked, but beautiful views and well maintained. Hand rails or ropes and curated stairs make for a safe walk up to the temple at the top!

Super nice.... but if wildernesses is your type.... not the best!

For only being 2.8 miles this was a very hard hike. It was like going upstairs almost the whole way.... Literally there are tons of stairs. it felt like it would never end but it was so awesome. And it is really cool to go down the other side of the mountain instead of going back down the way you came. Not sure if that made it longer or shorter to go down that way.

It continues to be one of my favorite hikes in Korea. It is a moderate hike with the greatest level of effort coming at the end as the trail turns to steps when you hit the summit. But the views make any amount of effort worth it. You cannot pass up this hike if you are in Seoraksan.

Been running and biking these trails for 2 years. Biking is better on weekdays or US holidays; weekends and SK holidays bring large numbers of hikers. Trail forks usually head down towards communities and roads, check KAKAO map app for these trails. There are many miles trails just to the east of this system, a huge 19 mile loop, with about 3 miles of farm road connections.

Really wonderful hike. I am relatively in shape and it wasn’t that difficult it there were parts that were challenging. If you take it slow you can totally do it and it is very much worth it!

Beautifully maintained water and restrooms on trail that a clean and maintained. They even have bug spray stations for free. Long hike take plenty of water. Saw some mountain biking but mostly hikers. Dogs on leashes

Easy with incredible views.

Hundreds of stairs toward the end but well worth it. Very crowded during Fall weekends.

Yea it's good, I wouldn't rate it as hard more like easy/moderate. if you can hike 10 - 15 miles in a mountain environment this is a piece of cake.
great views on the way up, toilets etc.
can be very hot make sure you have enough water.

Forest, rock, and river views with gentle elevation changes. Wear comfortable, close-toed shoes suitable for walking on uneven and potentially slippery surfaces. Hold the handrail by the section of metal walkway on the way down to prevent taking a dive. Wildlife included several chipmunks, a frog, two crows, a magpie, and an unidentified, fast-moving rodent. Only encountered two other hikers on a Wednesday morning in May. No vendors, but there are a couple of toilets before you reach the major elbow of the trail towards Biryeong Falls. Very few informational panels are translated into English, but the directional signposts are.

Fun but challenging hike. Get ready to go up a lot of stairs! We went during August and it was quite humid. Fun views once you get to the top.

Easily accessible, can be either a quick and easy trail or you can go for a long hike. Does get a little annoyingly crowded, but the proximity to Osan Air Base makes it worth while.

Great hiking! Not too crowded, and can choose whether to make it a little more f
Difficult or not(: had a great time!

excellent trail! walked there from Osan Air Base. it was a little tough finding the entrance. but once we got on the trail everything was fine. there was plenty of splits on the path where you can choose the tough way or the easy way. once we made it to the end, the view wasn't bad. on the way back we decided to take another route and got a little lost, so the signs could have been a little easier to understand.. but maybe that's the american in me. all in all.. GREAT TRAIL

really nice trails and awesome views

Great trail for hiking and trail running. I had a blast!

I hiked this August of 2014 and loved it!! Pretty strenuous once you start up the 888 stairs to the top. Random little shops and restaurants on the way up which was fun. Very nice to get some ice cream on the way back down haha. The view at the top is amazing. I went earlier in the morning so it was still quite foggy but cleared up. Highly recommend this hike, or at least just vising the park.

We completed this adventure with the whole family (included our two dogs). The hike is not long and is very easy to complete with only a 400 foot elevation gain to reach the small lookout peak. There are alternate routes listed on the map at the trailhead and it is possible to get to the beaches on the other side of the hill without going to the peak for an even easier stroll. Elephant rock is pretty cool to see and my kids enjoyed building rock towers with the large rounded rocks on the beach. The beach here is not sandy so don't expect to be able to lay out and sunbathe. Great experience and the adventure includes just finding the way here. We used GPS coordinates to reach the parking lot and enjoyed the ride. There is not very much information on this hike in English which just added to the adventure of it all. Great memories.

Great hike. The top of Bukhansan Mountain is such a great view. Go early in the day because by noon the top can get packed. Makes you feel that you are no where near Seoul.

We went on the cable car and then hiked to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the view on a nice spring afternoon to finish off a day of hiking at Seoraksan National Park. This hike provides an incredible view, especially for the little effort that is required. This is well worth the time to go and see it.

Wife, kids and I did this hike recently in the spring. We started that hike at about 10AM from the main visitor center area after buying our tickets to the cable car which we would ride later. We only had four hours and the sign said that this was a four hour hike so it seemed like a nice fit. The first half of hike is fairly easy with a gentle slope upwards. There is resting area with food and a popular rock that hikers like to pose with about half way through the hike. Following this rest area the hike gets very strenuous with a constant uphill trail. Parts of the hike are so steep that stairs have been built, especially near the end where you are essentially climbing stairs up the final rock cliff face of Ulsanbawi (bawi stands for rock in Korean). The view from the top is amazing and I would highly recommend this hike. The trip up took about 2 1/2 hours but we got down in just over an hour to catch our cable car. This was a tough hike but the highlight of our day and something we will remember forever.

We hiked about half of this trail today. The trees are mostly bare but some of the birds are back. It should green up in the next couple of months.

I hiked this trail in October of 2013. The fall colors are incredible. The trail is well maintained and the falls are amazing.

I hiked this trail with my wife, kids and our dog in October 2013. The trail is in great shape and is heavily used. There were some nice surprises along the way - the first one was a great little rest area with bathrooms and local drinks and snacks available for sale. Music was being played by a local musician on a guitar and the community atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. The kids enjoyed the heavy-duty workout equipment that was installed along the length of the trail - some of it was very creative. There were some nice viewpoints and some great Asian architecture in some of the towers. It is very close to Osan AB which made this hike very convenient for us as well.
