we went on this hike in early summer paid 5 bucks to park 5 bucks to

Just checked this trail today. As some have mentioned, the road to get to the trail is pretty brutal. I have a Jeep and I hit a few very iffy spots. Once you are there the parking is sufficient for about 10-12 vehicles. No facilities nearby.

The trail is in good shape, well maintained, with minimal roots. The bookends of the hike are rocky, but not bad at all. I experienced minimal bugs and people. It was just me and my little 9lb dog and we made it to the peak in about an hour and made it back down in about 45 minutes.

The peak is a sight to behold! Amazing 180 mountain views on a clear day. To get up to the peak there is a cable wire to use, which came in handy! We sat up there for about 30 minutes, had a nice lunch, and prepared for the climb down.

This is easily one of my new favorites for a shorter, moderate hike!

Random note: as we hit about the halfway point I regained cellphone service (AT&T) and the signal grew stronger the higher we went. Which is always nice if there is an emergency.

The cemetery was cool. The ruins were interesting. The falls are gorgeous. Fun fall hike overall. I will be back to explore more!

They’re doing logging near this trail so the trailheads are difficult to find. Got lost a few times due to the trails being cut into different sections with no discernible trail markers. Plus parts of the trail are not well maintained. Not the coolest views either. Just a lot of forest and ferns.

I was expecting a lot more. It's not well marked at all, so I'm not sure I've seen all of it. cemetery was very overgrown.

It’s very beautiful trail!

Better for mountain bikers. The view is obscured and not rewarding relative to the hike.

Recommend going up a trail (most likely Grand Ridge) but otherwise, straight along is just asking to breath in car exhaust along the highway... Meh no thanks!

Fun, beautiful, and easy hike for me and my 11 year old.

Fairly easy trail. The path thins out after the sealed mine shaft and is a little over grown but not too bad. The cemetery was pretty neat. Lots of very old head stones. The gorge trail is fairly steep but someone has made some steps so it's not too terribly bad. Worth the walk to the Green River. The parking area has a lock box with no lock and no envelopes to pay the $5 fee. There is also a box going down the gorge. There was no attendant either. There is a chain linked gate that was open at least by 7am. Overall it's a decent little hike.

Loved it! Great for kids!

Fun hike! Not hard if you pace yourself. Once at the ridge its an easy cruize to the scramble, which is loads of fun with the cable to help. View was mist today, so coming back when there is sun.

Road has some very rough patches, suv highly recommended, if not required.

There is no sign for the trail so be sure to use GPS to find it. I completely passed it and ended up having to backtrack about .25 miles when I started asking myself why I wasn’t gaining elevation. Once I was on the trail, it was pretty steep. It starts as a small trail through the woods, the progresses to climbing up rocks/roots like stairs. It’s a pretty short trail so it’s not too bad of a climb. At the top, the view of Mount Garfield is great! Getting back down was quite challenging as well since the trail is so steep. Some spots I had to walk down backwards to be able to keep my balance. All and all a decent trail, but I probably wouldn’t do it again.

Wanted to do this one again before October, but sadly the trail is closed until May 2019. Guess I’ll have to wait ‘til then...

Beautiful, short, easy hike. German Shepherd loved the water. Great place to end the day after other hikes in the area

Not much of a hike. Everything overgrown and not much left. 5 stars for river. Nice swimming whole.

A beautiful quick hike around a quiet pond. My toddlers enjoyed their time in and out of the stroller.

The only reason it gets a 4 star is because of the part of the trail up to the Denny Creek Natural slide area. That trail section is so crowded with people who don't know hiking etiquette, got crowded completely off the trail for oeople stopped in the middle of the trail or people coming down who don't yield and run you off the trail. BUT once you get PAST that section it's awesome! The trail becomes more technical rated moderate and would agree with that rating. The Falls are great fun and beautiful. A great hike with my 15 yr old son and dog. Next time will go further up!

Very easy walk that anyone can do. If we do this again I'll bring stuff to bbq on the grills at the picnic site. For how short it is I feel another activity needs to be added in to make the drive worth while. No bugs today.

This hike was very disappointing. Was not marked at all and the grave site was overgrown with blackberry bushes. The actual town was only foundation. The five dollars per person for parking was a lot.

This trail is a huge dog walking route. If you go early there are a few people that let their dogs run off leash. I ran into two separate loose dogs one happy the other wanted a piece of me. Be careful. About noon there are so many dogs that owners have to keep them on leash. Outside of that try the side trail along the river. It's nice.

Great challenge for an out of shape hiker! NOT 2.6!! It was about 2.6 for one way! Lots of people seem to think it’s super short but it is definitely about 5 miles round trip.

Highly suggest walking up the riverbed if you are willing to do some easy and small rock climbing. So many more beautiful waterfalls and small pools to explore off the main hiking trail!

Beautiful hike. Pretty quick hike, but you’ll definitely get a good workout in. Amazing view from the top. Lots of smoke because of wildfires at this time.
