Great for families! My 7 yo had a blast!

Very nice trails here. They are well maintained, as is the whole park. The trails are also pretty well-marked. And they would be appropriate for hiking, jogging and mountain biking.

Great place for daily dog walk, bike ride, or run. Varied and interesting. Easy access in several areas to change up the route. Loop section is especially nice. Can access the creek in early spring.

Interesting area, good for kids, close to city.

ruff root covered paths, bridges in disrepair but one good bench passed the cascade.

Nice short east trail. Only concern are the hunters along the trail shooting squirrels. So recommend wearing brightly colored clothes.

Not allowing dogs ruins this trail

Very good trail. Only a few people on it. There were lots of people in the park, but not on this trail. Very Rocky and a good amount of roots going across the trail. Not too many bugs either, just bring bug spray. Majority of the trail is shaded. There are some water crossings, but when I walked they were all dry due to the little rain we have been getting. Trekking poles or a walking stick may be a good idea. My only gripe is there is not very many trail markers on the trail and some areas have forks so bring a map.

Nice little place to take the kids or go for a walk. I struggle with finding good places to hike in he Kansas City area so this will do in a pinch. My 2 year old had a great time. One part of the trail goes right up next to a busy street, separated by just a thin layer of trees, so it’s not the most “nature-y” or secluded/remote by any means but still nice. Did find quite a bit of trash which is very disappointing.

Love the waterfall!!
Nice hike and several benches to sit take in the scenery.

Nice hike with the family. This trail is always a favorite. Great views of the Missouri River and the town of Leavenworth across the river. The trail is well marked and easy to follow.

Beautiful scenery, well maintained. Would recommend coming to the falls after a good rain storm.

Majestic elevation, not for the weary of heart.

The waterfall pictured in this listing is on the Old Kate Trail (at the same location), _not_ the Whitetail Trail.

My family loves going to this park, it's not too crowded and the trails are convenient. Not very challenging for serious hikers its more for those that just want a leisurely nature walk. A couple of the hills are pretty steep so be careful!

The trail is well maintained and part of it is a boardwalk. There is a neat waterfall along the way and plenty of bluebird houses, though I didn't see any bluebirds this morning.

Really fun and pretty! Nice short and well maintained. Great Sunday morning hike if you’re looking for something quick just outside the city. We saw a woodpecker at the top of a clearing. Way cool!

cute little trail, cleared well, and my sister and I loved our mile walk

Good for kids- some play area. The name is misleading and underwhelming. The cave is tiny. There are neat chimneys along the one mile trail. Wear pants and close toed shoes- lots of poison ivy and sumac. Lots of shade, so lots of mud along the trail.

Great spot for us and the kids. Really cool place to visit and not too hard for young children or stroller.

Will be coming back! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!

Trail entrance is close to 435 and close to a shooting range. The noise from both is a bit distracting at first but as you continue on the trail you can barely hear either. Trail is in decent shape and provides some challenging hills. Differently would consider this a moderate trail for hiking. Not sure I will hike this again. Nothing spectacular about this trail.

It was an okay hike for being what like 1-2miles. The caves and the chimneys were nice to look at. The pond was cool as well. Some paths were covered with trees and brushes so it was kind of hard to see the trail but it’s great to bring the kids

Well-established trail, novice trail user appropriate. Water, shade, free parking all available at the trailhead. Perfect for a break from the urban/suburban environment without a looking drive.

Dog friendly easy little trail. Nice little play and picnic area. Great for quick hikes with little ones.

Perfect for walks and bike rides! Not any big hills for biking. The trail is awesome by the lake. There is also more of a forest feel in some parts than others. There are geocaches in the area and if you time the light just right, Longview is a great place to take pictures!

I truly enjoyed my hike there!!
