It is so wrong to post access to trail heads that are on private property OR to post hikes that are on private property (unless it's okay with the owner). My friend has a farm & people will come biking or hiking on his property and give him attitude. I wouldn't call that helping out our community. Some hikers mention poorly maintained trails; well, some of these trails are NOT DLNR (Dept. of Land & Natural Resources) maintained trails. They need to know this...venture at your own risk! I'm a local (who hikes), born & raised here, & I always stress safety when hiking or venturing out here on beautiful Kaua'i. Your site needs more honesty! I know it's the $$$ for many...guides, sites, etc....sad!!!

Incredible experience, went with guide. Grueling if not in shape. Need to keep a quick pace - trail is an aerobic workout, non-stop. Wild orchids, ferns, waterfall, mud up to your knees, all combine to make it heaven on earth, unforgettable.

Update - just finished , left parking lot at 415am , got back 7:45! Long , gnarly , muddy , boulder hopping, slippery , parts of so called “trail” off side of river is crazy ! Advise a guide or someone who has done it and tabis are necessary . If you have your mindset and you are experienced do it .

Amazing. There is absolutely no hike like this one. Felt hiking boots are a must. A guide is recommended. Lots of very VERY muddy and SLIPPERY spots. The reward for the hike is spectacular. Don’t attempt to bring any vehicle to the beginning of the trail unless you can get through 3-5 feet of water. Lots of helicopters. You might hear 5-10 on your way in. If you’re an experienced hiker. DO THIS HIKE.

Had to walk from the bridge because the road was closed. A long walk but worth it to have it to ourselves.

We rented a Wrangler and an awesome tour guide “Woogie”. I would have never attempted this hike without those two things. Is impossible to get to the start of the trail without a lifted 4x4. Once in the trail there were some obstacles that you wouldn’t know how to get pass. The guide gave a special kind of shoes that was design for water and rocks, which are a must. He also took us through some really fun waterfalls besides the Blue hole. Overall It was the best experience of my life.

You have to walk up the road (4.8 miles) to even get to the trail head because the bridge is closed. The trail is over grown and hard to find along the river. We had a local friend that had done it before with a god and left marks on his gps. You could probably just walk the river up if you wanted to. From the closed bridge that we parked at to blue hole (guardian falls) it was roughly 6.5 miles. We didn’t make it to Weeping Walls because we didn’t have enough time.
