Beautiful property and it was very peaceful! They have something for everyone to enjoy- an outdoor model train exhibit, beautiful flowers, peaceful fountains and many benches or lawn chairs for you to sit back and relax, as well as the nature trails to walk along.

I also appreciated that they had water stations full of ice water along the trails so you could top off your water bottle and stay hydrated on a hot day. It was also nice that the trails mostly had shade (the ones I went on mostly has shade from the trees). $3 was so worth it for the experience and I plan on coming again!

This is an easy trail for those who want to get into hiking. The scenery is really on the back end. There are other trails nearby like Hickory Grove.

Wonderful shady trail

My absolute favorite hiking trail in KC! Stunning scenery, flat stretches, rocky stretches, abandoned buildings, broad flora and fauna. Gorgeous and well maintained. However, definitely keep this app on you. Trail changes are not marked at ALL. Very confusing if you’re sticking to the 4.5. Otherwise, be prepared for more like 8. 

Nice short east trail. Only concern are the hunters along the trail shooting squirrels. So recommend wearing brightly colored clothes.

What a peaceful gem in the middle of the inner city. The trail system was fantastic, quiet and beautiful. The shade made the hike tolerable on a sweltering day. Wish we had brought our bikes because the trails would be amazing for mountain biking.
One warning, there is broken glass all over the parking area, make sure all valuables are hidden away. Also, there were hundreds of spider webs across the trail.

Nice well maintained trail. Intertwined with disc golf 18 hole course

Very nice with hundreds of butterfly’s and easy walking !!!

This is my favorite thing to do when I am in the area visiting. I could spend hours strolling along, camera in hand, enjoying God's creation in all its glory (and I have)...

This area is perfect for walking your dog or children.

Seniors - I'm nearly 71, 30 lbs overweight, and not in super condition. I walked this trail in about 30 minutes. I would rate this trail as Easy+ for seniors. The first half of the trail is mostly ascending with a few short, but steep, inclines. Also some steps and boulder/rock dodging in the trail. The sloping down areas have a loose surface, so shoes with good gripping soles are best. It's a pretty walk and has interesting rock formations along the way. Not a boring little walk at all! I wanted to walk about an hour, so walked across the parking lot and did 15 min in and 15 back to get my hour in.

I hiked the easier trail. Well defined but sometimes not well marked. Challenging near the bluffs and easy on the north side. Almost stepped on some adolescent raccoons! Don't take valuables - car break ins are common. My car also bottomed out in the unpaved parking area.

Hiked with my 5YO. It was a nice walk with most of the trail shaded.

Beautiful trail. Very maintained. Like 60 seconds from the city. Map at trailhead, however seemed to be a lack of trail markers while on the trail.

Great paved and off road trails! A new favorite!

Nice little place to take the kids or go for a walk. I struggle with finding good places to hike in he Kansas City area so this will do in a pinch. My 2 year old had a great time. One part of the trail goes right up next to a busy street, separated by just a thin layer of trees, so it’s not the most “nature-y” or secluded/remote by any means but still nice. Did find quite a bit of trash which is very disappointing.

very well marked, mostly shaded in the summer, trail appeared to be cared for (only a few weedy areas), some ticks even with repellent

Great little trail just outside the city. We did ~5.8 miles in ~2.25 hours connecting different trails. Some flat, some paved, some rooty, some rocky, a few small hills for a little more challenge in some places. Ticks are definitely present now (mid-June). Lots of shade on most trails, but quite a bit of sun exposure too. Bring plenty of water in the summer heat. Saw lots of butterflies and dragonfly-like things, and one little bitty harmless snake off the path. The observation deck had some nice purple and orange wildflowers as well. Appreciated no traffic sounds. Will definitely come back.

This was a nice trail once you got to the wooden section off of the asphalt. Would recommend to friends.

although it was a great walk, load on the deet. I reapplied bug spray and still ended up with over 50 mosquito bites. It was still gorgeous.

Well maintained. Fun creek and rock formations to play on for the kids.

Very nice trail with plenty of things to see and plenty of waypoints to sit and relax and enjoy the sounds of nature in the woods.

Beautiful trail. Not well marked so use this map reference to guide you. I got a little off track for a bit and it ended up being a 7 mile hike!

Nice fun trail full of flow but badly marked to find your way around or out.

Brother and I have done ~4 and 5-mile stretches of this trail a few times. It's a nice, well-maintained trail, though the signage is less than helpful in some places. Small variety of features to see. We saw a nice mushroom in a more lush part of the trail and cacti with wildflowers in a rockier part of the trail. (Photos uploaded.) Want to spend more time with it and log more miles on it.
