Gave it a 4 due to the paved part. Not a big fan of pavement. If you like pavement it’s about 1/3 paved. Natural part was nice with all the fall colors.

I picked this trail up at I-Lan park (127th & Nall) and headed north to Leawood City Park...perfect out and back for a total of 6 miles. very level, recommend for training to increase running distance/time. Met people all along the way walking, jogging, biking. Lots of shade so will definitely keep this one in mind for summer however this trail is stunning in the fall.

It great you don't feel like you are in the middle of kc.

I love this trail . Use do live close there and spent a lot of time.

Great fall colors right now. Great views of the flint hills. This trail’s in great shape now that it’s a state park. Can’t wait until they finish the extension to Herington

My fave trail so far. Great primitive camp sites and you see water for most of the hike. Has some great views for Kansas.

Great place for daily dog walk, bike ride, or run. Varied and interesting. Easy access in several areas to change up the route. Loop section is especially nice. Can access the creek in early spring.

An Overland Park gem!

It’s a nice trail with lots to see. Nice, long hiking trails, and they have water stations which is nice. Flowers were pretty although we were more interested in the nature trails. Only downside is it costs $$ but it’s pretty cheap.

Easy, lots of mountain bikers but a nice reprieve

I am on the trail 3 to 5 times a week walking or biking. I love that I can get one mile out of town along the hills and Marais des Cygne River under the canopy of trees and feel like I am in the Ozarks.

Good trail for power walking.

Good for mountain biking. Hiking was nice, but no one has been on the trail for ages, so I got covered in spider webs!! It was nice being alone. No views of the lake tho

I have ridden this entire Trail on my bicycle. is well maintained and most of the ride is very scenic. the best part is south of Shawnee Mission Parkway on top of the large Hill. it has a great Overlook area.

Lovely trail, we went clockwise and stopped to camp at #12 in hammocks. There was a great fire pit and bench at this camp site and it's right by the water.

Great path, it was exactly what I was looking for. It is a fully paved path great for many activities. I rode the full length and back on my mountain bike with city slicks.
Most people on the path understand all the basic courtesies required to make this enjoyable for everyone sharing for which I am very thankful. Though I was riding alone I did not feel alone; lots of waves and friendly smiles.

Just another badly marked and cryptic trail that will easily get you lost. Even the trail head maps were off the mark. Got lost after waiting for the local "Trail Nerds" group run that never showed (not even sure they exist anymore) and found myself super lost in the dark. Not to mention LOTS of rocks, somewhat dangerous for runners and the occasional weed smokers on the trail make it for a annoying and disappointing experience.

Nice, paved trail for the road bike. Pretty, scenic suburban trail meanders along Mill Creek. Fairly busy on the weekend. Watch out on the blind curves as the trail is somewhat narrow.

I grew up in Overland Park over the past forty years and have been pleased to see the extensive trail system develop. I jog, bike, take my dog on jogs, and even ride my longboard on the Indian Creek trail. My wife and two boys live 3 blocks off the trail. The trail is fairly well cared for. A few cracks which are most notable on the skateboard, but they’re few. And definitely not a problem for any other mode. I’ve seen police on a few occasions. I don’t recommend a ride on it within 24 hours of rain, as a couple of low spots can pocket water. Summer day will dry it up, though.

I usually ride my mountain bike about 5 miles, I might run a 2 mile jog once a week. I sse a good balance of trees and open areas, which means even on hot days you will find a diversity of temperatures. Fall brings a few too many leaves for the longboard... And, pity the Activity menu here doesn’t have the skateboard-longboard and nor does it show inline skating. These are 90% level grade trails on the floodplain of the creek and are a treasure for the community. They provide continuous uninterrupted movement...just pick a mod and do a little “forest bathing” through the City of Trees. See you there!

Mostly a prairie trail. If looking for wooded area trail, this one is not for you. Lots & lots & lots of ticks - we used permethrin infused clothing & a 7.5 oz bottle of 40% deet bug spray that still could not keep them off of us. Blazes were good, but trail still difficult to follow.

Beautiful property and it was very peaceful! They have something for everyone to enjoy- an outdoor model train exhibit, beautiful flowers, peaceful fountains and many benches or lawn chairs for you to sit back and relax, as well as the nature trails to walk along.

I also appreciated that they had water stations full of ice water along the trails so you could top off your water bottle and stay hydrated on a hot day. It was also nice that the trails mostly had shade (the ones I went on mostly has shade from the trees). $3 was so worth it for the experience and I plan on coming again!

Very good trail. Only a few people on it. There were lots of people in the park, but not on this trail. Very Rocky and a good amount of roots going across the trail. Not too many bugs either, just bring bug spray. Majority of the trail is shaded. There are some water crossings, but when I walked they were all dry due to the little rain we have been getting. Trekking poles or a walking stick may be a good idea. My only gripe is there is not very many trail markers on the trail and some areas have forks so bring a map.

Best loop is Mill Creek to College.

Very well marked and maintained trail. Will definitely hike again. A few areas had very fresh tree falls on the trail but nothing overly large or blocking to much of the trail. Was some trash at a campsite but I packed it out.

This trail is GREAT for a long run at almost anytime of the day because it has good tree cover throughout the trail. Also the pavement is well kept which means there is no need to worry about footing on a run.

This is my favorite thing to do when I am in the area visiting. I could spend hours strolling along, camera in hand, enjoying God's creation in all its glory (and I have)...
