Good for beginners, just a weeeee bit challenging like being on a stairmaster for 2 hours, crampons come in handy

The view on top is majestic, but extremely windy, better get thick gloves and good jacket.

This hike was actually 17 km with the access road closed. Took 4 hours with exploring

Very nice view around at top and high wind too.

Fantastic hike. I had a very windy experience along the ridge, but otherwise stunning views and easy to navigate. It's a good workout of a hike considering the distance and elevation gain. Nothing technical to scramble. Today there was not enough snow to "need" microspikes/crampons, but I'm sure those will be required when more snow comes.

The Begining of the trail is really easy, it gets more difficult when you reach the top of the mountain. Totally worth the effort! The view was incredible !

Great day up Wasootch! Took me 2:10 up and 1:40 down with a steady pace and only a couple of short breaks. Poles are definitely helpful on this trail, bring em along.

Awesome walk along the creek. We ended up walking the creek instead of the ridge but still worth it ..Beautiful views!! Spectacular frozen waterfalls.....love it ..will go back for the ridge in summer for sure

It was a gorgeous hike. We did it on December 8th 2018
Breathtaking views of creek and frozen waterfalls were everywhere. Saw few people doing ice climbing. Little tricky to cross creek few times.
Must do in summer.

My wife and i really enjoy this hike. you can make it more strenuous by going as far as you can. It does get really windy in the open areas but the views are awesome!

Trail good and compact, but still recommend micro spikes and gaiters. Brilliant sunshine and not too windy at the top compared to other days. A good hike at anytime of the year if you are looking for some elevation gain, awesome views and want to burn a few calories! Recommend going mid week though as it is a very popular trail.

this is a difficult hike for beginners, but beautiful view on top

Completed December 4th. Spectacular views well worth the effort! Good Micro spikes are needed for the way down. Can’t wait to try it again in summer.

Hiked it after a snowfall so a bit of a slog through 6inches of fluffy snow. Still beautiful at the pass.

Completed hike on 2018-12-02. Crampons/Ice Cleats highly recommended. Not really enough snow on this date for snow shoes. Great hike, great views especially the summit with it's 360 degree panorama.

Completed this hike a couple weeks ago, crampons not needed. It’s pretty fantastic at the top with the pearlier feels but most certainly a steep incline that can make you question for a second what you got yourself into. I was sore for a week after this hike! But the experience is worth it, a solid hike!

It’s steep as you hike up on a used trail along the side of the mountain and then you come to a clearing of large rocks and boulders. The trail seems to disappear. However it is clear which way to go. You get out of breath as the incline increases but at the top where the “Tea House” is the views of Canmore and the Mountains are spectacular! There is no real Tea House that you can dine at. This is a difficult slow climb and recommend for the seasoned hiker.

Great views, easy trail to follow. Ran into deeper snow at the final approach to the summit lookout. No problem with spikes. Good hike if you want a mix of terrain and a hike in the 4 to 5 hour range.

Gorgeous views of Spray Lakes for the majority of the hike! We had to cut the hike short by a couple hundred meters as the snow became too deep. Definitely going to add this one to the list to do again in the summer!

Always a nice hike but boring through the forest if you're going up to the ridge. We always hike back along the ridge to get the views. There isn't a marked trail on the ridge but you just need to follow the edge. Drop down when you see the cairns. We went Nov 25th, no need for snowshoes but spikes were useful.

Very challenging and rewarding hike. We wore micro spikes and used poles for the snow and ice- very glad we did!
Pretty cold and windy at the top for this time of year , we only made it to the helicopter pad and back. Took almost 4.5 hours.
Legs are sore today !
Will definitely do this trail again - hoping to reach the summit in the spring/summer.

really great trail. set out by myself and didn't see anyone else the whole day. lots of sharp rocks and lots of ice. views from the top were worth the trip. yaktracs and trekking poles definitely recommend. even though mine broke on the way up. I imagine that it only gets harder from here on out and soon a 4x4 will be need to get to the trail head safely. Great day.

I spent a perfect morning hiking this awesome mountain! The weather is stunning for November. It took me around 2.5 hours to get to the teahouse.

The steep hike is worth it for the beautiful views at the top

Packed snow for most of it, no snow in places on the ridge. Spikes are good to have. Steady climb but really no exposed areas so is great this time of year. Route to ridge climb is really well marked and signed. Views from ridge line are truly spectacular! Trail closes December 1 for wildlife management.

Went out today and got up to the alpine meadow but wasn’t able to complete either side of the loop due to the deep snow. There were tracks so I imagine if you had the gear and gators then it wouldn’t have been a problem. But I was alone without gators and only crampons so I decided to duck out. I look forward to going back in the spring/summer.

Just wanted to do an update on the cave. If you go to the end of the cave there is a secret passageway that’s low to the ground. And this is where the adventure begins! Super cool if your not claustrophobic! Lots of crawling around finding more tunnels to go in. It eventually ends because the space gets too small to crawl through. Love this cave!:)
Dec15 we went back a year later. And the cave has collapsed at the end where all the passage ways are. I have before pics and pics a year later of where the large ice wall
Is and there is so much debris! Be careful! You don’t want to be in there if it collapses

To much snow to continue to Sparrow didn’t have the snow shoes on us - so we went up Reads instead! Great day! Not to windy not icy great Sunday hike - will be back to do the full route.

Tough climb but beautiful views of the peaks and valleys. We did this on Nov 17, trail was easy to follow - microspikes and poles a must.
