Good city hike. Wanted to stay close to city and get a good hike in, and this did the trick! The views from Pitock Mansion were great as well!

Beautiful trail. I had accidentally parked halfway along the trail, so I didn’t get to see the view but it was still great. Very heavy traffic though, if you’re an experienced walker be prepared to be constantly going around families with children running around and teens blasting music from speakers.

good short trail for dogs and kids

Great 4th of July hike. We really used the downloaded map. Would have had trouble staying on the trail otherwise. Our GPS logged 5.4 miles.

Very busy trail. Lots of people not wearing the right attire or understand hiking etiquette. If you can get through that the view of Portland from the top is amazing.

Forest Park is one of my favorites and this trail is one of the best. It’s cool, shady, and peaceful with little to moderate traffic. There’s a beautiful and accessible stream running alongside most of the trail. I recommend going in spring or summer for the full lush, PNW forest effect. The trail is well marked and a relatively easy hike.

Beautiful hike and views at the top are nice especially on a clear day, but don't let the listed elevation gain fool you into thinking that this is an easy hike. The first half mile or so it's pretty level, but the last two miles are a real climb. Uphill the whole way. If you're not in good shape, are new to hiking, etc, plan on going slowly and taking plenty of breathing breaks. That said, there are 60 and 70 year olds who've been hiking a long time and some runners who don't find this climb to be an issue.

I'm from California. First time on this trail and it was awesome. Loved walking through the lush forest and the views at the top are pretty great!

This was beautiful hike with luscious views and a little bit of rain. So different from the dry LA trails that I am used to. It was a steep enough climb for a bit of a challenge and the reward was Pittock Mansion and a gorgeous view of Portland. You also pass by a stone house which is a picturesque spot. I recommend this trail especially if you’re a trail runner!

I like this trail a lot with its stream and lush trees, but it tends to be very busy even on days with inclimate weather. I also have a dog that is scared of other dogs and on this trail people often walk their dogs unleashed. I find this super annoying bc I’ve had to ask people to call their dogs back to them. Just because your dog is “good” off leash doesn’t mean I want it walking up to me and my dog.

Beautiful trail! The view from the top is amazing!

Great trail. Get there early and park on an offshoot off Skyline to avoid chaos at the Germantown parking lots.

Fantastic New bridges placed since my last visit a few years back.
I mean you really couldn't get an easier trail, wide, gravel, well compacted path, if you didn't have an incline..well at least there's that

Enjoyed this hike a lot, will definitely do it again!

Nice walk, dogs got their workout in.

Love this Hike/Run

On a weekday this was a great hike. Few people on the trail, easy to maneuver, good workout for me and my dogs. Beautiful views at the top.

Love Forest Park. Parking area can get quite full on the weekend. There is another parking area to the SW where you can park too.

The first part on Leif Erickson can be a mix of mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners. Later on Wildwood trail the traffic is lighter (and no bikers allowed).

Great moderate hike, and the Skyline Tavern is at the end for refilling water bottles and a beer. Pretty well traveled, some signs of homeless camps off the rabbit trails but not overly so.

Fun. Moderate in, easy out. Some small muddy patches here and there, but nothing terrible. Pittock Mansion is worth the short hike.

Loved this hike. I just love Forest Park's feel.

Loved this hike. Only downfall is listening to car traffic, other than that it was great. We took lunch to have at the top, made it very nice. Will do this again next time I am in town.

Beautiful variety of scenery on this trail. Pay attention to signage because there are a few trails that connect and could throw you off course. Overall, great hike and would do again!

Ground (in some patches) somewhat soft from previous rain. But you can’t beat 73’ and sunny!

muddy and steep. that is all.

We followed a meandering creek that just took us away...

Fun first half on the trail, a lot of elevation changes and turns so it doesn’t get boring. Finishing on a fire lane back to the parking lot. Enough elevation changes to get a workout if running.

I loved this trail today. A little muddy in spots but overall very well maintained. The elevation change is no joke and the view from the top is lovely. Trillium was in bloom everywhere which was an added bonus!

Great city trail in Portland’s acclaimed Forest Park. The lower trail follows a stream. The upper trail leads to a lovely view of the city and Mt. Hood beyond from the gardens of the elegant Pittock Mansion. Water bowl for doggies and the ticket office for the indoor tour of Pittock.

Pretty easy hike, great little stream. when you take the turn up to Pittock Mansion be prepared for the incline. I've hiked this trail two times now. The first time I wasn't in the best shape so it was a nice burn. The second time I was in better shape so it wasn't as bad, but I powered up it and was out of breath by the time I got to the top because I was hiking up pretty quickly.
