I didn't see any of those wide open trails in the pictures. gate at the end of the road was closed so I went down the way the map shows. it was all ATV trails. far to narrow for my truck but I sent it anyway. was pretty challenging mainly due to the narrow nature of the trail. goodbye paint

Great trail for my entire family. Not to intense but enough to get the body moving. Hiked with ages ranging from 8-37.

easy going trails for beginners.
love that its soo local but the parking lot gets full at peak hours.

great spot. be careful of flooding

Short, but steep hike...good workout, and great views throughout...not advised for children as part of the hike needs to step on lots of small rocks that are on the path...have to be extra careful when coming down..

Meh. At least we were out in nature and enjoying each other’s company. But the trail left us a bit underwhelmed today. Maybe if the river had been full and flowing it would have been a better vibe.

Nice easy afternoon hike

first time I've gone hiking in quite a long time so it was honestly to difficult for me after the first climb. had to turn around. but I would love to do it again when I'm in better shape. great views and beautiful sunrise.

My kids favorite hiking / fishing spot!

Nice loop stroll along a multi use trail. Wildflowers, some rainfall runoff made for added enjoyment.

Great family hike, took the 3 grandkids ages 4 to 8 and they all loved it

Great hike, a little raw but my kids loved it! The water at the end was cold but after the hike, you’re going in! Water was crystal clear and the go pro shots from jumping off the log were awesome! Wet rocks are slippery so watch out.

Awesome hike. Hard to tell if you are going the right way, but if you follow the river upstream then you will get to the end. I was disappointed that the water was brown the whole way through because I was wearing my swim shorts and hoping for a swim in a pool. I'd still recommend this hike though! It was beautiful and a lot of fun.

is alreary open ??or is still close..because i want to go next weekend

Hiked this trail with our dog and she thoroughly enjoyed it! However, me being from Colorado, when I read that there was a river, I was expecting an actual river. It's more of a little tiny stream that springs up in the middle of the trail and then follows the trail for a couple hundred yards. Also, if you're like me, your ankles will be sore by the end from almost constantly walking on the edge of the ditch/trail. Overall, still a fun trail that took us about an hour and a half to complete.

Lots of ATV use and little side cuts from them.

My family loved it! It was my 4 year old daughters first time really having to climb so I'm glad we went.

it definately has opportunity to try different trails. it does spider off and connect to other trails randomly. the trail makes you feel like you're in the middle of the desert but you know that the freeway is close by. I have run into a snake before, no big deal. the wild life is very scarce. great starting area!

Easy hike? I’m not sure

Great running trail. Plenty of moderate ups and downs to get good workout. I've been using this trail, among others in the area, for 35 years.

Quite steep the whole way, a very excellent hike for a good leg workout, plus the views are amazing the entire way up. I stopped every 50 feet and turned around to look over the northern suburbs. The view at the top is absolutely awesome, there arent many trails that get you this high up in such a short distance!

Always a good time love this trail love the whole area people are friendly and amazing

Great hike for beginners and those not wanting to be physically challenged too much. Great scenery and amazing boulders to be see. Bring lots of water!

The only drawback to the peaks of North Mountain Park are the towers and clusters of communication apparatus. Lots and lots of people on these trails.

No trail to follow. Stay along the creek until you get to the large boulders. Once your at the area where there are several flat water falls, turn right and follow creek until you get to the area where the large water fall is with the tree branch sticking out.

My favorite trail easy to get to in middle of the city.
Wide, clean, and easy trails great for children and dogs. Clean restrooms with limited parking.

Beautiful area. There are veins of deep green rock mixed in with the granite in layers. It is a short hike but beautiful. 7/15 is the one year anniversary of the flash flood that took ten lives in one family. There is a family memorial at the edge of the parking lot listing the names and ages of the ten that were lost in the flood. My wife and I walked to the end of the trail to see the water wheel. It is actually by the parking lot. Did some research on the wheel. The web say the wheel was used in the early 1900s by a gold miner named James Greer who used it to power an ore crusher. Nice to see a little history.

It’s a beautiful hike but moderate is an extremely generous rating. The only thing moderate is the distance. The trail is difficult to follow, the terrain is very challenging and the elevation is very steep for the distance traveled. This needs to be changed to hard. Not for little kids and make sure you wear good protective footwear.
