A great day hike, make sure you bring enough water. Stay safe and enjoy :)
Very nice. Easy. Not very crowded. Bit cool but beautiful day
Great trail! Old gold mine...really cool.
Gorgeous
The trail was well marked with beautiful scenery with lots of people on the trail. Next time I will go to the end of the Oasis trail and up Mastodon Peak, then back to the oasis trail. The majority of Mastodon loop is thru sandy wash.
An easy loop trail, currently one-way only, that meanders past boulder formations and many yucca trees. There’s almost no shade and few Joshua trees. The trail isn’t obvious at times, but there were often rocks placed along the sides of the trail as a guide, which was probably the only thing that saved us from getting lost. We got to see rock climbers near the end of the trail.
Nice hike. Check the pic for the view before descending down to the oasis.
Great half day hike! Trail was relatively easy with no major/long inclines, and the landscape and views were interesting throughout. Lots of cool dessert plants, boulders, and Mountain views throughout the hike, all leading up to a cliff overlooking the palm tree oasis. Trail was well marked and good for families and kids!
I thought it was going to be a bit more difficult but pretty easy hike, ended up running half of it.
This was an almost perfect half-day hike. We had a great time! The landscape was so varied—we hiked on ridges, in washes, through some short canyons... and the views! Pictures don’t do it justice. Huge views without too much strenuous elevation gain. We left just before nine and got back to the car around 12:15. We stopped frequently to take pictures, and had a snack break on the trail. On the way out we only saw one other group, but the trail was actually quite crowded on the way back.
Awesome!
Lovey hike! Somewhat difficult in points for a beginner like me but definitely worth it! Mostly flat and very varied. We really enjoyed this.
This girl has no sense of direction, and should never go hiking alone...especially when “marked” trails seem to disappear. Got out tho!
We started mid morning with gorgeous weather (60s and light wind). Hardly any shades on this hike, we brought plenty of water. Had lunch at the peak of the palms oasis. We didn't go down as the path is steep and slippery with pebbles. We encountered about 8 hikers on our way back. The terrain was very interesting and this becomes another annual hike for us snowbirds. Totally recommend this trail.
Lovely 1-hour loop. Slight elevation in parts, but mostly flat and comfortable. Great rocks!
Went this past Saturday, a good amount of hikers on the trail. Weather was perfect for a desert hike. As a reminder, always bring water with you on a hike. I gave a bottle of water to some people that were struggling without. It is important to be prepared, especially in the desert.
Quintessential Joshua tree hike! Oasis was fun to explore - nice little scramble up and down, lovely shade from the palm trees to have a rest and eat a snack. Great way to spend an afternoon :)
