First half mile is the toughest, good scenery. Crystal Mountain Trail (at the end of Moody) is closed, but the Private Road back to Buckhorn gets you back without backtracking.

Fun trail for sure. Take all the side trails. Fun rocks to climb and a couple obstacles you actually have to look at taking the proper line. You need to walk a few hundred yards to get to the plane crash area. Pretty neat.

10-4-18 trail is blocked by a couple big trees that have fallen down. also right after the entrance somebody shot skeet and didnt bother to pick up at least 20 to 30 bright yellow shotgun shells. classy... :(

The main trail is not a 4x4 trail. The side roads/waypoints are what make it fun. We did this in a 2015 JKUR lifted with all the right stuff.
There are narrow spots and you will endure Colorado pin striping on the trails we went down.
Plus side- we saw 6 moose. 2 bulls and 4 females up close and personal.

it was fun until the road got to steep. I tried to do this in a can am 850 outlander but didn't make it to the end. ended up rolling the atv. it was still fun.

Did part of bunce in an ATV, mixed with hiking up a chunk of the road to get to the crash site. Also did pony pond as well

Great drive with some awesome views. Would consider this an easy road for off-road driving. You do drive through private property to get to the trail so mind your speed, so not stop and be courteous if you encounter any land owners. All gates were open when I drove the entire length of the trail 08/04/18.

Many moderate obstacles and great views would recommend atleast 33’s

Fun trail. Was a little tuff at the beginning but also challenging and not to hard. Had 33’s with a 4” lift in my 2001 Jeep wrangle. Took that trail like a champ.

Fun trail. Very green this time of year.
The ascent right at the beginning is fun but the crystal mountain trail was gated off.
The closure signs looked fairly new.

Joe & ken are wrong & most like locals who just don’t want you up here... I ride it & drive my 4x4 van up here all the time. Campered with a buddy up here 2 weeks ago. It’s open & is a legal road/trail to be on..

First off road trip in Colorado. Went in my 98 TJ with stock suspension and 31in mud terrains. It was very challenging but doable. Took a few scrapes to the bottom but no real damage.

Took a not quite stock JK Wrangler up it. Hardest part is right at the beginning - you need to pick a line up a steep rock outcropping. The Rubicons we accidentally convoyed with walked right up it with their lockers. Next time we'd air down. The rest of the trail is pretty easy but jouncy with rocks. The 2nd half of the trail was closed off, so we never made it to the end.

Took two ATVs at the end of June. Heart Attack Hill lived up to its name. Check out our YouTube video going through the chutes. We took the trail start to finish. Amazing variety of butterflies and a good mix of terrain. Saw a lot of mountain lion scat on the trail at the top.

Did this yesterday, super easy trail to find. I aired down for comfort and would possibly recommend it for a few sections but you could probably make it with out. Easy trail and lots of fun. Got to the top in about 90 min.

Loved this trail, definitely requires locking 4x4 in some spots. Made it the whole way in a stock 1991 Land Rover Defender, took the bypass and was still a challenge. If you pick your lines, it can be done. Everyone we met on the trail was awesome, as it can get quite narrow and with blind corners. Keep you eyes peeled!

Had an absolute blast.! Looked at the "Chute" as I drove by 
2018 Toy 4runner
3" lift
18" wheels
33 in BFG KO2's

Most of the trail would qualify as easy, but the trails at the northeast make up for it in difficulty in and around the crash site. All and All a fun site with a wide range of difficulty.

really fun my 4runner went through with ease on main trail and one of the branch off roads is when the fun started cant wait to go back!

Road is super super easy and was closed 3 miles in. There was a gate with a stop sign on it and wouldn’t let cars through.

This trail is a lot of fun but a lot of rental traffic that have no trail courtesy for other riders.

June 3rd, this trail is closed still, I wished someone would have posted this and saved me the trouble. there's a trail that goes to the right of the entrance to stillwater pass but it ends after 1.5 miles. dead ends to a campsite with a cliff view however, not safe for children or drinking, cliff is 20ft away from campfire and there's nothing stopping anyone from falling over the edge

1993 zj 3.5" lift with 31s
1999 xj 4" lift with 31s
bypassed heart attack hill and skipped the chutes
Saw a bull moose up by pingree hill so be aware

All private property, no trail up here. Got chased out by some property owners just driving up the road trying to find the trail.

Road was closed to 4x4 traffic. Tough/steep hike for first 2 miles. Dogs enjoyed the hike and we saw turkeys and a young male moose. Saw a few mountain bike tracks but had the trail to ourselves.
