Got on the trail early morning, almost nobody else was around, very relaxing walk. The lakes are worth checking out but get very busy.

on The Whistlers Trail

Monday 6th August 2018. Mid day start, just over 2hours to the top and an hour down. Beautiful scenery and hardly anyone else on the trail. Steep in sections and at the top. A lot of mosquitos, very windy past the tree line, no large wildfire. Fun

Probably our favorite hike because of the pretty lake views. We had 3 kids ages 6, 7, and 11. It was busy even late in the day. The couple ahead of us encountered a black bear on Trail 9a and turned back. We proceeded forward and never spotted the bear (probably because our youngest was crying so loud because she was tired). We did carry bear spray. The lakes are serene. Loved the little dock at 5th Lake.

Great trail. Not too difficult, but some fairly steep terrain for a few minutes. Make sure you stay right when making the loop. You’ll have a more gradual climb and the best views that way. That saves the steeper decline for the way back. The return of the loop also has great views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.

Amazing view of the 5 lakes!

great views of the falls

Starts off easy, paved road. then changes to mixture of dirt and rocks. steady uphill, steep in a lot of places. took many many breaks. trail is well outlined. the summit was relief and sense of accomplishment!! very windy at the summit! lots of berries and chipmunks! coming down from the summit was a bit challenging. go EARLY morning when it's cool out. it took us 3 hours to get to the top, I don't have greatest fitness level and my blood sugar gave me numerous issues but chugged along. coming down took 1 hour and 15 mins.
only downside was the smoke from the fires made it hard to see far away but was a very good climb!
go to the hotsprings after!

It took us about 1 hour and 30 min to get to the top in a nice steady pace. View from the top was spectacular.

I recommend to start early it gets pretty crowded as the day goes by and it gets pretty hot too.

Windy at the top so bring a wind stopper.
Hiking poles and hiking boots are recommended.

Amazing views and worth the hike, but not recommended for people sensitive to heights.

Excellent views from the top, but most of the hike is unremarkable.

Access road still closed for the season!

Such a wonderful trail with a wonderful view once you reach the top. A couple nice spots along the way with views and spots to sit and relax for a bit. Recommend hiking poles, especially for the way down. Will absolutely do again when I come back to visit.

This is a pleasant trail that winds through a valley with many lakes. The 5 main lakes are that famous glacier blue color. Lakes 1, 4, & 5 are great for swimming in the summer (although perhaps a bit chilly). Aside from the lakes, you get lots of trees, valley views, and flowers. Not a ton of wildlife aside from squirrels and a few ptarmigans. Not a ton of elevation change, just a few mellow hills. The outer loop is a bit over 5 miles and there is a shorter inner loop that’s a little under 3 miles. I personally would opt for the longer loop as you get great views of Lake 1.

Climbed up to the summit back in 05.

Nice view of the town along the way.

We were hit by a snow squall as we broke the treeline. Made cairn spotting interesting.

It was nice to be able to take the gondola back down after a hot meal at the top!

I hope to go back.

Great trail !

Did this on Fri Aug 3rd. The hike through the forest is nice but it is a real slog above the treeline. Great views from the top.

Went on my birthday - solo - because I'm the coolest person on Earth. Good thing this is one of the best hikes on Earth. So we have that in common...

Great Hike! The boyfriend and I started at 9 in the morning and we were back down by 12 after having lunch at the summit and taking in the views!

A fast and easy hike for an amazing payoff. Rough gravel roads to get in to the lookout (a truck or suv is recommended). We took the west trail which leads through an alpine meadow at a steady incline to the summit above the tree line overlooking the whole valley! Took about an hour one way. The entire trail was rocky so sturdy hiking boots are a must.

I really enjoyed this trail. The views are incredible. There aren't many flat parts but there are plenty of benches and rest areas along the way. Definitely make sure you go all the way to the top once you get above the tree line. The Miette Hot Springs after were a perfect way to unwind

Amazing once you get to the top!! Worth every bit of effort and their is no ringing bells on this trail!! Go on get up there

The All Trails write-up calls it a "moderately trafficked" trail. I would say it is a heavily traffic trail in the summer. Lots of people but beautiful lakes. If I am ever in the area again and it's a clear day, I'd hike it again!

easy hike to a beautiful end point!

Packed in our 11month old. No one else on the trail even midday. A beautiful forest trail. Good workout. We stopped where the trail crosses the creek for a cool down in the water and went back from there due to the extent of the steep rock outcropping ahead with a packed baby and sore legs from Geraldine lakes the day before.. If we could have gone to the top would have been awesome:) So much veg to see, especially the wildflower ledge with the mountain view. Will go back when kids are older.

Good hike, beautiful views on the mountains :) try bald hills as well if you can

One of my favourites. Definitely on the harder side because of how steep it is most of the way up. But the views are great! I suggest starting in the morning and having lunch at the restaurant up top. Took me about 3 hours to hike up to the restaurant with a few stops for water. Come prepared with water and snacks, dress in layers, bring sunscreen and bug repellent, and make sure to wear good shoes and socks!

This hike is an experience! Started at 3pm, was done by 6pm done at a very fast pace. Was unfortunately a rainy/cloudy day (we were hoping it would clear up), nevertheless still a must do hike. Definitely make sure you have warm clothes! The top was windy and temps definitely dropped quickly above the tree line. Very steep hike, hiking poles very helpful, basically all switchbacks. Don't stop at the first lookout above the treeline! It's worth it to keep going until you're actually at the top! The views were still cool, but I know would have been even better if it wasn't a rainy/cloudy day. Thank goodness for the hot springs at the end!
