This is an underrated experience. If you are around the Icefields Parkway (and have snow tires) head here to see the glacier. The trail is a little tricky at some points, but is often flat. There was a lot of wind coming off the glacier on our hike so war clothes covering most of your body (face included) is helpful. There was very little snow on most of the trail (because the wind had blown it away).

Since it was so close to the main road, was an easy side trip to do .. the falls I didn’t think were too impressive however the backdrop with the mountains looked amazing.

This is not an easy hike .. moderate at least .. especially at the moment since you spent the entire time trudging through snow and ice .. must have cleats or poles to get to the top .. well marked but thanks to AllTrails map for helping us though this route .. the view? Stunning. The experience? Absolutely worth it!

Beautiful trail. We made it in the end of October and there were close to none tourists.

the name of this is a bit misleading (which doesn't mean this trail isn't amazing). you aren't looping the lake, you are climbing an overlook. great trail, good picnic spot on top

Easy access .. small falls if you want to take a break from driving.

Did this walk early in Oct after a snow fall. track was very icy and treacherous but the view was well worth it.

great hike . we go from 5th bridge up to 1st bridge, then back to 5th bridge. takes about 2 hours. 5th bridge to 1st bridge is 21 km and 6th to 5th bridge is 19km. we do not go for a full loop this time but plan to a full loop from 1st till 6th in coming spring or summer
Great view You can really see how amazing nature can be

Definitely not a hike, but a trail. Super easy, great place for a picnic and to see some wonderful waterfalls.

Shortie but a goodie. Worthwhile stop if you’re driving on Icefields Parkway.

Meh. Crowded, only a few decent views. Easy hike if you only have an hour or two, but there are absolutely much better treks in the park.

Not bad, and fairly easy hike. Would skip the longer loop and just go straight to lake 1.

Great for the whole family, a lovely sightseeing opportunity without too much work. A bit busy though, and pushy tourists to avert, but a great time nevertheless!

Great trail to start getting more difficult terrain. The trail is in great shape despite snow all morning.

Very easy brief walk, tried 3 times to wait for clouds to reveal the mountain peaks. 3rd time was a charm. 2 of the 3 times it was busy with tour buses and many people, however a short enough hike that people come and go quite quickly so you can get your photo and go.

Most people only see the upper falls which are a very short walk from the parking area. The lower falls are also very beautiful and worth a visit. The trail to the lower Sunwapta Falls is not particularly scenic until you approach the end as it does not provide views of the river. It can be a bit steep in certain places as well.

Completed Wilcox Pass on Sept 23, 2018 on the way to Jasper. Fantastic Hike, well worth the stop! great rewarding family hike if you want a bit of a challenge too. You’re at high altitude so slow and steady wins the race! Completed in about 3 hours with plenty of stops to take pictures.

Well maintained switchback trail, once you pass the red Muskoka chairs the trail thins out but is still easily identifiable. We also saw the Herd of big horn sheep! Stopped once we reached the pass — noticed quite a few folks pushing further up (set aside 4-6 hours depending on your skill level for that.

We reached the pass where the tundra opened up and the views were breathtaking. Seeing the glacier on one side and an open tundra on the other is like no other! We even found a Geocash! So cool!

Parker Ridge is a trail I found to be pretty challenging even though I’ve seen it shown as an easy trail. On my visit in late September, the bottom section of the trail was incredibly muddy. (If you don’t want your shoes to get dirty, you might want to check the trail conditions or go elsewhere.) The next section was snow covered which made it a bit slippery. At the top of the ridge was dirt covered trail which was by far the easiest part of the trail. It is a short, but at various points, steep hike. You are awarded with an incredible view of a valley and mountains on the other side of Parker Ridge. Keep walking to the left, and a lake will come into view on your right. It is an amazing sight. As you proceed to the left, the trail becomes rather narrow, so proceed carefully. Not for the faint-hearted. The descent was possibly just as challenging due to the slippery snow and mud.

Done when snowing and this makes the trail a lot more harder. but views at the end are just stunning. And even better with the snow

Short and sweet, even in horrid weather.
Cute squirrels and chipmunks to watch playing in the trees and undergrowth.
Wheelchair friendly ramp for access and washroom in car park.

Very easy. Awesome view!

Super awesome view for a fairly easy hike. Some steep areas but worth it. Definitely going to do this hike next time I’m in town! Lots of horse poop so keep a look out!

Love walking the dogs there. I feel safe and easy access. Great views from every angle.

The falls are incredible. The walkway gets very close to the falls at several places. Powerful and loud. The walk itself is on a paved path with several stairs. Very close to the road, very easy to get to.
